The guy tried though, imagine he had sent off one of the players for dutch in first half after karate kick - people will be saying he handed Spain their first ever world cup.

He tried his best to keep the game 11 v 11 but the Dutch players were extremely bad sports.

Why does this need to become public knowledge can't they keep this within' themselves.

I'm sure England would have small incentives but you never hear about this one - why has representing your country have to be about money to be motivated Na wa O.

Sports / Fifa World Cup 2010 Golden Ball: Who Would You Choose as winner? by Rhydem: 1:21pm On Jul 09, 2010
The Black Star that is Asamoah Gyan today shined brightly for Africa after he was nominated among the best players of the Fifa 2010 World Cup.

Fifa, together with adidas, nominated the Ghanaian striker for the Golden Ball award at the Jo'bulani Central in Johannesburg. The adidas Golden Ball award is the official Fifa trophy for the best Player of the Tournament.

The ten nominated players were selected by Fifa's technical study group and includes football experts such as Zambian legend Kalusha Bwalya, former French international Christian Karembeu, South Africa's own Jomo Sono and former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier.

The ten nominees for the Golden Ball are:
Diego Forlan (Uruguay), Asamoah Gyan (Ghana), Andres Iniesta, David Villa, Xavi (all Spain), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Mesut Ozil, Bastian Schweinsteiger (both Germany), Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder (both Netherlands).

Bwalya explained the criteria for a nomination. He said: "The technical study group looks at the player's technical ability, the confidence when he plays; you have to be in form, be in good physical condition to play in a World Cup and be mentally prepared.

"These are some of the factors we considered. It was an enormous task picking these players from a list of 736 players across the 32 teams," Bwalya says.

Former Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn expects the winner to come from the team that wins the tournament.

"We will have to wait and see which team wins the World Cup and the player of the tournament will come from that team," he says.

Fifa's accredited members of the media, including KICK OFF, will play the crucial role of selecting the most outstanding player of Africa's first-ever World Cup.

The winner will be announced after the Final on Sunday at Soccer City.
Me personally, I think Diego Forlan or David Villa.

I don't understand how Gyan is there instead of Prince Boateng but anyway,

Basseti:

Thats the operative right there,

But what we know is that Yakubu MISSED poking the ball into an unguarded net.

No, no - what I respect about Yakubu is that he has composure in pressure situations.
Imagine the penalty he took when he missed open net, and he go roll it into net with pen-a-lity.

Ghana have been dealt HAND OF GOD!

Utaka is more prolific but,  Martins is way better than Yakubu thefore Martins is therefore better than Utaka. So Martins should have started before them both.
