Sports › Are The Nff So silly?! by Rhydem(op): 11:34pm On Feb 17, 2010 |
Adegboye Onigbinde ”We have barely four months before the World Cup starts.
But apart from that, whoever takes over as coach of the Super Eagles cannot start work until the first week of March. The NFF has to interview the candidates and agree on a contract with the successful one. By the time all that is set, there will be three months before the beginning of the World Cup.
”On resumption, the new coach will have to invite players and screen them before he starts real training. If you know the content of football, you will imagine how he can do all these in two weeks.
The new coach could be somebody who has never visited Nigeria before. He may not have an idea of how Nigerians react to situation and instructions. All these hurdles could make the job even more difficult for him and take more of his time.” Why the hell would you go for a foreign coach then? Why not employ a coach who has been to Nigeria before, knows how Nigerians react to situations? Why are we experimenting on the world stage, why not experiment in the ACN? God please help these people see sense. Finally if they were really serious, they'd quickly go to those managers in which they want to 'interview' them, what are they even interviewing? How much they can chop from his salary? |
Sports › Good Evening NFF: Siasia Wants Nigeria Job! = Problem solved? by Rhydem(op): 11:16pm On Feb 17, 2010 |
Former Olympic team coach, Samson Siasia yesterday (Feb, 16) threw his hat into the ring of taking the Super Eagles to the South Africa 2010 World Cup, saying his antecedents have qualified him to do even better job than most of those shortlisted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the job.
Siasia, who spoke to reporters in Abuja, also said he would be ready to work with any foreign coach who has the ability of improving his technical expertise.
According to Siasia, who took the Dream Team to a silver medal finish at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, noted that he has better qualities of coaching the Nigerian team than some of the coaches shortlisted for the job.
"If I am asked to come on, I will go but as at now I have not been shortlisted for the job, may be, I am not good to them," he said.
The former international, who said the country's football administrators are still suffering from the inferiority complex of a black man, urged the Federation not to employ their coaches based on the colour of their skin.
He added that the NFF is aware of the fact that he is capable of taking the Super Eagles to the World Cup, but wants to avoid him because of his tough stand on taking decisions.
"My outing with the Flying Eagles is not the reason for their not listing me for the job, they think I will not listen to them, but they also know I am capable", Siasia stated.
They should just allow this man have job. But if he is unable to do anything in the short space of time, I know the NFF will sack him straight away and it will be very difficult for him to manage the Eagles again. The pressure I think is too much for him for this world cup but I know he can do very well if given the chance, just the risk to his career is visible for all.
As small minded people will simply place him as a rubbish coach. |

CarlosVent: We criticized the team and the federation football management but still after Clemens westerhof Amodu is the best coach Nigeria has ever had. This man even though might make mistakes but has great luck following him.
He should be allowed to take that luck to D world cup and also alowed to choose his team.
No more pointing hand and also getting angry lets now support dis team with every strength we have and with our support they will make us proud. Are you stupid? Messi will be laughing at this team, Messi vs. Nigeria will be a YOUTUBE classic 100m hits! Take it or leave it |

Get a bleeping Capello or a Hiddink and see if Mikel will still be handpicking his National team matches. You are right, the only solution is SiaSia, he will do a fantasitc job, scouting players following them bringing in decent youth players in which can develop with the crap players we currently have. |

alleno: I really am completely disgusted with the Super Eagles. They are all chickens. Their lackadaisical attitude is annoying. Who the hell do they think they are. Even Yaradua in all his mistakes and disasters does not shatter our hearts ever so often. 60,000 spectators cheering them did not provide any passion for them. Diving, no midfield, no defense.
Now to answer all those Mikel Supporters. Is he a footballer at all, with all the hype around him filling the shoes of the GREAT JJ OKOCHA, what has he brought to the table setup for the eagles. Absolutely nothing.
Nigeria, once a mighty tree in the forest of football, has now become a shrub. Common Tunisia who were completely discouraged after the second goal. I hate to even mention it here that i live in the same area with that Adelelye guy. A basketball pro could have replaced him today.
What good can this things deliver us, are these the players that will represent us in the World Cup. If Messi and Argentina should eventually qualify, he alone will dribble the Nigerian defense and score everytime he touches the ball. Its painful to see the expectation of the entire nigeria shattered everytime these guys play.
Lets even assume that the Coach is just an illiterate, is it difficult of players of class to distinguish themselves and singlehandedly take us out of the mess. I feel disappointed to be a supporter of the super eagles now.
Watched the match via web streaming, spent so much to increase the bandwidth to show on a projector, placed a sign outside so other nigerians could join in watching the match. 34 guys and girls, families, left their activities to see there hopes dashed against some stupid displays by proud idiots (Forgive my insults, the match just finished, still angry).
When will our guys learn, playing for Nigeria is not doing the population a favour. Even if it is, will Chealsea buy me as a player because i watched the match. Playing for the National team is like going for an interview, its more important for them that it is for us.
I will stop here as am doing my best to remain dignified and not destroy my reputation on nairaland or spoil my future political ambitions. Have a great day Exactly, we have now been replaced by the likes of Ghana, Egypt, Ivory Coast. But the same is also for Cameroon though. |

Why the hell, do the NFF/NFA whatever they want to call themselves. Have to raise money and give bonus to ensure our team wins a game in which they should be winning anyway. If they are needing money as incentive to play to win we are in a VERY VERY bad state my friends.
Can you imagine young kids in England today are aspiring to simply earn their first cap for their team.
Nigerian players cannot wait to gain their wage cheque after winning one game in which they should be winning for their country.
God please help this country Naija |

He left him alone, you guys should watch the re-play of the 2nd Goal,
Supersport 3 commentary confirmed it.
This is so painful Exactly stupid boy, he ran to the centre AH AH WHY?! Stupid slowpoke Eagles |
