Sports › World Cup Failure One Of Many Problems! (video Inside) by Rhydem(op): 3:09pm On Jul 01, 2010

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1qaMJkkQO0

Guys look from 8:27 onwards

Obinna stated, 'Whoever wants to play Nigeria is looking to make a record for themselves'

The guy don curse Naija, as Greece don record to records against Nigeria. Haba.

If true he should be grateful where in England years ago, black players faced abuse from thousands of fans in the stadium.

For example take Cyrille Regis. Did he go kung-fuing people in the stadium?!

Who earned pennies in comparison to what players earn now, it is sad.

James2a2:
My Stand:
I'm amazed by the turn of things. Theoritically speaking, the President's move is in order but practically, what happens to other age grade competitions(age cheats or not)? Are the falconet also doing badly, the eaglets, the olympic team, flying eagles, the local league club's representation in continetal football and the league itself? When we put new people eventually, are we going to win the world cup? Will Jonathan still be the President till the purported 2 years? Finally, If a man has 5 children and the most senior or most loved is always failing in an exam of a particular school, do you withdraw other children from that school? Now people (more than 80%) are celebrating. Remember this same people asked for foreign coach through radio phone-in shows such as Brila fm and on many other shows, some people clamoured for that, now the same people are crying foul. My conclusion is that we must not throw out the bad child (Super Eagles) with the 'bad' water (NFF + this set of Super Eagles). By the time we are ready to go back, the likes of our present crops of upcoming stars in the Eaglet would have become 'tired legs'. Let's use EFCC and ICPC to force their resignation instead of this 'ban ban ban scenario'. I'm laughing in my mother tongue. God bless Nigeria!
People were asking for Siasia. The NFF were adamant on getting a foreign coach.

Sports › Views Of The Ban Of Nigeria From All Competition by Rhydem(op): 11:17pm On Jun 30, 2010
Guys, guys, guys, what are your views on this situation. Some of you are missing the point of the withdrawal from international football.

It's not that the team is doing bad, the government couldn't care less about that. It is due to the NFF (equivalent to FA of England) they have been deemed as corrupt squandering millions even billions of Nigerian taxpayers money. The Sports Minister went to FIFA in order to get authority to disband the NFF but FIFA wouldn't allow it. He even asked if Blatter could keep the $8 Million dollars in which FIFA is supposed to give nations participating in the world cup, as part of it will go into the pockets of members of the NFF.

Goodluck Jonothan asked the president of the NFF to resign, but he refused.

So the only thing he could do was to ban the team from itnernational football (removing them from FIFA) and now allowing them to probe the NFF without any FIFA opposition.

With the amount of taxpayers money spent on the team, it is a drastic step which had to be made especially in a country in which does not have continuous electricity yet, football is not on the top of its agenda.
There has been corruption charges based on hiring of coaches (Research Glenn Hoddle's claims) millions has mysteriously vanished into thin air from the NFF.

So the agenda now would be simply:

- Re-structure the NFF (bringing new members - most likely ex footballers who are passionate about football) outside the world of FIFA
- Once they have investigated corruption allegations, they should report their findings to FIFA. And if succesful reapply to FIFA.

However this 2 year ban could be all be but a mere memory if the president of the NFF simply resigns, but he would not do such a thing; as at the moment he has nothing to lose.

If he resigns he loses his job and will still be investigated for corruption
If he stays he loses his job and will still be investigated for corruption (Although Nigeria will not feature in football, African mentality is not like that if we see the former French FA president resigned immediately)
Sports › Re: Time For Lulu To Prove His Love For Nigerian Football and resign! by Rhydem: 8:53pm On Jun 30, 2010
He will not resign, he has already stolen millions of money from Nigeria. What does he have to lose if he leaves NFF.

He will still be investigated and probed so it's a lose lose scenario for him.

Once greedy always greedy.

Mr President, I will be sending you a documentation about the problem of our underwater polo team.

I want the team to be disbanded for two years so we can sort out this problem and ensure we are able to re-organize.

We were unable to qualify out of the preliminary stages, we were disgraced.

Thank you.

Very stupid comment.

We may not win the next world cup, we just need to see an improvement in the system.

No more cancelation of friendlies, no more change of venues hosted in England all the time, no more playing Jamaica, no more confusion about Nigerian football in which is embarasing us continually worldwide.
Sports › Re: Jonathan Bans Nigeria From International Football For Two Years by Rhydem: 8:11pm On Jun 30, 2010
Some people here are very stupid.

Please remind me what happend with France's world cup campagin - They failed miserably, agreed?
What happend to their president of their FA?
He resigned, yes?

Okay.
Now the NFF (Lulu) Said this team was capable of semi-final contention, where did we finish?
Is Lulu going to resign? OF COURSE NOT, the man is even planning his re-election campaign can you imagine.

This is just one of many problems the NFF has brought to this nation with many corruption allegations, abeg guys this is fantastic news.

We will be able to re-structure the nations football - and people keep saying why two years?

We want this to be a suitable fix for the nations football 2 years is neccesary for this to be atleast succesful.

he shd ban PHCN too cos we havent seen improvements since independence

how do u ban football cos u wanna get rid of NFF

isnt that dumb?
I agree, and I imagine the government are taking small steps into correcting these problems. It is just because we are a football loving country this news now seems BIG news, imagine the government had decided to ban volley ball from all competitons whilst they revamp none of us will even CARE one bit.

To me, I see this as a positive movement in the one of many things on the governments immediate agenda.

why are you guys making it seem like if sani lulu is a killer, i can bet anybody this current nff has been one of its best, its main problem is that they always hire wrong coaches, but that is not enough to ban us. rydym we ban our self only from nations cup in 1996 but can ban us for 1998, now we are banning ourself totally from international football do you know how many years fifa might ban us
Guy, you're missing the point.

The NFF has been dogged with bad organisation for many years now.
Corruption has been it's biggest allegation and also poor development of football.

From 2002 till present day, we have not improved.
look at allegeations made by Glenn Hoddle, what came of it NOTHING. Look at the money which 'vanished' into thin air what came of it NOTHING.

Since Berti Vogts we have NOT improved in football one bit, and it's enough of giving millions of dollars to these rouges to compete in FIFA competitons when we don't yet have continuous electricity in our country
Sports › Re: Jonathan Bans Nigeria From International Football For Two Years by Rhydem: 4:31pm On Jun 30, 2010
Didn't Sani Abacha do this in South Africa Nations cup. How long were we banned for by FIFA?

Also if we do this, we have to ENSURE Nigerian football is completely overhauled, there is no point now to hold onto any member of the current NFF board, it is not neccesary. But who do we put in place of these people?
Sports › Re: Eguavoen Again?! Tori O Lan Why? by Rhydem(op): 12:16am On Jun 28, 2010
This backward forward backward approach has to stop. I can just imagine conversation of NFF:

Lulu: O Boy, Nations cup now soon approach and we need new coach. If i could sef, I would hire myself as coach and sit there and chop money while i dey still use boys from world cup 2010 sha, say I no go win nations cup with team that go play in europe?

Assistant: Ho Ho Ho, Lulu you funny guy. But in all seriousness, I have been doing some research and the olympics team coached by a (checks notebook),  Samson Si,

Lulu: (His face turns from happy to anger) If you wan keep job, NEVER EVER say that name in this place again, you hear. How can you suggest that a guy who wants this nation, Nigeria, to progress, let me tell you something Nigeria is not about progression O - listen, you hear that, that be GENERATOR, since tipe-tipe we still use this one for light. Imagine suggesting a guy who don't want me to chop from salary, please just thinking about this one just go give me hypertension. Progression? Leave me out of that one O, I don't want to be the one responsible for this progression in Nigeria abeg.

Assistant: I'm sorry Sir, it was silly of me to even suggest him - then I can only see two candidates, we have used them before and they did OKAY they probably won't win anything Just make sure you set them silly target like win Aluminium award of CAN then we can sack them later and i'm sure they will allow you chop 20% even 50% sef of their money. If they surpass their target and win the entire competition simply say they were rubbish it always works believe me then you can sack them and hire oyinbo coach where we now can chop big money provided by FIFA!!!!

Lulu: Who are these guys, they sound like my kind of people.

Assistant: Eguavoen and Amodu sir.

Lulu: Ah-Ah, I'm so silly, how could I forgot my two muppet family members you say chop 50% I will chop 75% from Amodu atleast man na fool. Pass me phonebook let me phone them, it has been a while.

Eguavoen on standby for Lars

Posted: 2010-06-26 14:16

Austin Eguavoen will be handed the Super Eagles job if Lars Lagerback decides not to take up the extension he has been offered by the Nigeria Football Federation.

A top official told KickOffNigeria.com over the weekend that Lagerback informed the NFF that he will have a response to their offer in two weeks, after consulting with his family.

“We discussed with him and he promised to get back to us in two weeks. For now, he is going on holiday and needs to spend time with his family before making a decision.”

In the event that Lagerback turns down the offer, the official told KickOffNigeria.com that a process was already in place for a replacement.

“From the beginning, when we employed Lagerback and his assistants, the structure was put in place already in case something like this came up. So if Lagerback decides not to return, there is already a technical team in place headed by Austin Eguavoen to take charge of the team.

“We have a Nations Cup qualifier in early September and we do not have any time to waste searching for a new coach. We have confidence in the people who are there now, and we believe they can do a good job.”

Colin Udoh
What is wrong with the NFF, we are all shouting for Siasia what is so difficult do they not want our nation to succeed in world football?

It's a shame - even in England one guy who took his low rated Fulham team to final of UEFA (Europa) Cup is being linked with a job at Liverpool or even the England job. This is by merit due to his PAST success.
Sports › Arsene Wenger To Educate Local Coaches by Rhydem(op): 12:46pm On Jun 25, 2010
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has agreed to visit Nigeria for seven days to educate Nigerian coaches on modern tricks of the round leather game and the best way to identify hidden talents in the country.

This was the outcome of his meeting with Nigerian officials on Thursday at the Redisson Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg.

Wenger met with the Nigerian representatives led by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Bio.

Others at the meeting were the Director-General of the NSC, Patrick Ekeji, and a former skipper of the Super Eagles, Austin Okocha.

After the meeting, Ekeji told our correspondent that the deliberations went well with Wenger.

Ekeji said, “Wenger is passionate about Nigerian football and he believes we can do better in the future if we work towards that.

“He has agreed to be with us to give our coaches useful tips to help our young players. Football development is vital and we just have to embrace it.

“We know that Wenger is a coach that grooms young players and that is what we are looking at in Nigeria at the moment.”

Wenger however urged Bio to contact the management of Arsenal for a convenient time that will be fixed for the programme.

“The meeting was okay and I believe we can work it out soon,” he said.

I think he did rather poor, despite deceiving the NFF with his wikipedia knowledge of Nigerian football, he really didn't know the players he had at his disposal at all, which was clear with the team selection and tactics adopted, which I feel was the down fall of Naija in this world cup.

If any of you are able to see the beginning of the second half where Nigeria do their usual team prayers, where they huddle in the circle listening carefully whilst Enyeama leads the payers.

It came to my attention that here was one guy who was not involved at ALL,   Yakubu.

He was too busy kneeling down tying his laces. After that misfortune (bar the penalty) fell upon him in almost ALL opportunities he had.

You really need to see the just before the beginning of the second half to truly understand what I'm talking about in terms of tying the laces, instead of him to participate in the prayers.

U are foolish to add Yakubu to your list . . .ODE !
Please tell me you are simply joking, or I am seriously worried that you may have bad case of Kaitalosis (Loss of mental sense)

How can you not see that Yakubu was the key hindrance to the super eagles progression.

He could not control the ball,  I can even recall he controlled the ball with his hand as he struggled to control the ball.

I don't even need to mention the miss as that is just an addition to a long list of problems yakubu has caused for Nigeria.

The only people who like Yakubu are those he deep down think he be fine boy. Say you think he fine boy abi?

Please I want to be proved right or wrong: I don't think there has ever been any serious footballer known to chew bubble gum during football matches?

I mean, I've gone down memory lane and I can't think of any at all. Yakubu therefore, to all intents and purposes, cuts the picture of a caricature footballer, a comic character, totally and irrevocably useless.

He deserves to be banned for life from ever playing in the National Team again or alternatively made to under sex transplant and then transferred to captain the Female National Team, the Falcons. Obafemi Martins should be demoted to captain Julius Berger whilst Kaita should go for a mandatory psychiatric test after which he should be transferred to captain the Nigerian Fire Service football team.

Oh, these set of players simply ruined us!

As for LagerBack, his contract should be immediately terminated and put on the next available fastest plane to Sweden! Shuaibu Amodu and Samson Siasia should now co-manage the Super Eagles preparation for the Nations Cup and Brazil 2014.

Super Eagles defender Joseph Yobo has promised that the players will lay down their lives on the Moses Mabhida Stadium pitch in Durban against South Korea in a crunch Group B match on Tuesday.

“On Tuesday everyone is ready to fight and die for the colour of the country,” the Everton defender told mtnfootball.com on Monday.

“We now have a possible mission towards the next round.

“When we walked off that pitch against Greece, we thought it was all over but now there is a second chance for us.

“Many people insist it will be impossible but we have been written off several times during the qualifiers yet we made it here.”
