Religion / Re: Are Pastor Adeboye's Recant Of Various Testimonies Real. by Richdotcom: 11:37am On Dec 09, 2017
psp2pc:
whenever I visit camp. I listen to the various testimonies that pastor adeboye uses to showcase the power of God. but nowadays am beginning to doubt some of the stories he says and all the times, he never give specifics about who it happened to. he always says there is a son or daughter of mine who so so and so happened to and God did this and that. no specific about the person involved or witnesses, last night during the Congress was the height of it.
I am having some serious doubts of these stories or testimonies.
well what do I know? am just a sheeple.

I understand where your coming from, but first let me say this, every testimony shared at any of the living faith churches world wide is documnented and sent to HQ and most of those testimony shared by oyedepo are either personal experiences he had or some of those documented testimony...

Mind you most of those testimonies he has said them before at one time or the other with same accuracy. If it Wasn’t true it wouldn’t have been said with such accuracy over time ( liars have no memory).... that been Said.

Aside that there is no way we can truly know if it’s totally true or not, but what is important is do you believe God is capable of doing, each and every of those testimonies and even more!!! And that is what he (pastor oyedepo) is trying to make us know, God has done, can do, and is capable of doing each and every of those testimony over and over again!!!

Because the truth be told all pst oyedepo can do is talk with the aim of trying charge our spirit and to make us believe and cast our faith in God.... that’s all that is important( believing).

lovingJehovah:
I appreciate your comment. Just a reminder, my article is about 'tolerance'.
I do not believe any Jehovah's Witness has ever referred to your bill as unclean. We do not use the word donation, but a contribution.
Well, no one asked wives to stop talking to their husbands because they are disfellowshipped. Even in the Bible, there is a provision for unbelieving mates. The Bible has principles and we cannot bend them to please anyone or accommodate popular beliefs. Jesus said that his sheep will hear his voice and here we are. In all you are saying, you are a puritan and your opinion is what really matters to Christians. You did not even back up your thought using the Bible. We do not follow dictates of men but the word of God.
Wow! Astonishingly you have been far and wide and no disrespect to your achievements but I wasn't talking about countries. I told you about my family's multi-religious background to explain the views from in and out. What church do you represent?
'Worship' makes the difference. Would you expect Jesus to join the Pharisees in prayer when he himself condemned the public display that they called prayer? No! We do not keep enmity with others or pre-judge. We try to see the good in others. You should also ask when we go out to preach to them if we isolate. No! We do not care what and who people are but we are interested in sharing the message about Jehovah and his son, Jesus to all sorts of men.
Oh, nice! It is good that you shared that statement you heard and the reality of your experience. There are many professionals who are JW working in diverse sectors and fields. Nevertheless, what we watch out for is the pursuits of riches and the mundane things of the world and losing out on the real prize. We are all encouraged to maintain a balance so as not to make a lean that might suppress our love and zeal in the service of Jehovah. In the Bible, Timothy actually left behind the opportunity to school in the highly esteemed Athens for the sake of preaching the good news and he was a great assistance to apostle Paul. Would it be a crime for one to leave behind the opportunity to pursue things of this world for the sake of pursuing a full-time goal in the service of God? Moses also left all the glory in Egypt to play a vital role in the deliverance of God's people. No one is forced to quit school, but we are admonished to pay more than the usual attention to spiritual matters because Matthew 6:33 exhorts us to seek first God's kingdom. At the end of the day, what is the use of the certificates? It becomes trash when one is old or incapacitated. But he who does the will of God remains forever.
Are there no other boys in town? This same boy keeps dying in all anti-jw comments on Nairaland. Everyone kills the same boy online every time they talk about JW and blood transfusion.
I really doubt if you are in the medical field. No certified health practitioner would utter such remark and end it with "hahahahahah". Do you know that you are culpable for this comment? Have you ever heard of the "Patient Rights"? It is taught in medical schools.
How did antibiotics become blood? Can you share the name of this hospital?
Religion can also be explained as a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion. Money, music, career, science etc. No matter what one says, there is something that he puts his faith and time in and that is his religion. If you broaden your perception, you will come to understand that millions all around the world grope in banality because they ignore the basic counsels written in the Bible. The Bible best describes it as a chase after the wind. It will always get to that final moment for everyone.

Thanks for being truthful, a lot of people I have asked such question regard excommunicated of non members, not going to school... either denied or refuse to reply, Its really funny..... this is nothing but a means of mind control where by the younger generation are admonished not to pursue university education because one apostle in the Bible didn’t.

If you think or feel I am not in the medical field It’s your opinion, you feel bittered that I laughed, you should rather direct that bitterness to the dohman in JW that caused the death of that boy... I can feel the bitterness in your reply because I laughed at the foolishness is such doctrine and dogmas?

You see ignorance is a disease, this is the very reason they asked you guys not to go to school, d Internet is your friends do a search on antibiotics and how it’s manufactured.... these guys don’t want you people to be enlightened because Immediately you do, you will start questioning some dogman in the JW belief system.

Also do you know that every other biblical translation except the NKJ version was edited by the Freemanson fraternity? ....... even the very one you guys use in your Kingdom Hall .... I bet you will doubt it but do a research on it... search for the company or person that did the translation and check for their ties with the Freemason.... lol

If I still tell you that the JW is a multi billion dollars company with shares in MTV and other multinational companies you will say its a lie... check Wikileaks ( if you know what it is) and see.

Good night and sleeep well...

First you need to understand that there is a difference between being tolerant and indifferent .... do a little study on that, no body is talking about JW stopping me from praying or not.... don’t deviate

Actually you ain’t answering my question or trying to explain the action but rather you are trying to make it look cool.... as for your question if it was money that was being shared if I would have rejected? It’s very very much laughable!!! How much will shared on the road? A billion dollar? you guys don’t want to collect me own handbill but want to give me yours and “collect” my money as a donation? If my hand bill is unclean don’t you think my money is unclean too? Hahahahahahahahahah

Being ostracized I talked about is asking friends and relative of to stop associating and communication with the person in question that left the assemble.
What kind of cult is that? Thus if I leave your assemble and my wife don’t, automatically she is advises to stop talking to me and not to have anything to do with me? It’s sad and devilish!!!

Oga you don’t even know me, thus you don’t know if you gone to as many church as I have, neither do you know what my actions and reactions to situations will be like.
I have travelled to different countries in the world I have a lot of friend that I have followed to their worship center be it Muslim, Hindu etc..... even the cast and bind cele your talking about there is a Shepard of a church that happens to be a very good friend of mine till day, so what are you trying to say?

Here is the foolishness in saying I can’t go to church or I can’t go here or go there.... when your in the hospital do you ask the doctor if he is a Christian or not? When you go to the bank for a transaction do you ask the manger if he is Hindu or not?

There is one very funny school of thought a lady shared with me, she said the elders (or what do you ppl call it)in her assembly or Kingdom Hall advise her and other young people not to further their education to the university level reason being the they will get corrupted in today’s kind of university systems and also what the lectures will teach is the wisdoms of men, God is to teach them the true wisdom.... I was shocked because I have met a lot of JW in my profession, I have also met a lot of scholar that are JW too?

The other day a boy died in my hospital because the parent said we are JW we don’t do blood transfusions..... but when we give them antibiotics, they gladly took it.... hahahahahah
I laughed so hard because these people refuse blood transfusion but took also “blood” and drank it because it’s in not red and fluid... lol
I don’t understand!!!

Religion is confusing us!!!

That is totally wrong, judging from my experience.... let me share a story with you, Many a time I have had encounters with Jehovah witnesses and when ever I try saying an opening praying I am always met with an shocking shut down, maybe I am not “worthy” enough to say an opening prayer in my living room right before you preach to me.

One other incident I can vividly remember was a day I was coming back from church with some hadnbill to share, on my way back I met some of these jw guys, they stopped me and after preaching and all they were about giving me their awake booklet, I told them before I take this you will have to take my hand bill too, i was arrogantly turned down and these guys were still there trying to convince me to take the awake booklet .... lol
When they discovered I wasn’t going to take it unless they accept my handbills they finally walked away.

Don’t come here and tell us about acceptance, when we all know that who ever leaves JW for a church or any other religion will be ostracized, be careful with stuffs you post online.

I have friends that are jwee I have followed them
To Kingdom Hall a number of time but whenever I invite them to my church it’s a no!!! And a shocking characteristic is that the see every other Christian or religious leader as fake !!!

Not to talk of the fact that the young girls are not allowed to date or marry guys that are not JW....

Oga poster I love guys ooo but be careful with atuffs you post online you don’t need to lie to look good!!! If you are not bold enough or proud enough to say and Stand by what you believe and practice them something is wrong somewhere.

Thanks

cstr1000:

That is a very terrible advise.

You Do not forgive a cheating wife. That is a cardinal law.
It takes a lot for a wife to cheat, and when she does, it means she has crossed a rubicon- a point of no return.
She has no respect, love or fear for him, and it will take a miracle for it to be restored. Romance cannot restore it. It is an inbuilt something that is introduced from courtship into marriage and when lost, cannot be regained.

If you decide to forgive, then it should be with a realization that it can happen again and you just want the marriage to continue irregardless.

I understand what you mean sir, but sometimes generalization doesn’t really work....

Ok what about if a man cheat on his wife..... will you advise her to forgive him and give him a 2nd try?

I can relate to your story, first you should calm down ..... 2nd you should control your emotions not to involve your son in stuffs like this.

3rd if you know you can trust her again, you guys should talk about it and work it out..... but if you know you can’t jejely move on.

But if I am in your shoes, if it’s her first time of cheating or almost cheating on you.... for the sake of God, the vows you shared and your son!!! Give her a second chance, with very very strict warning!!! In fact draw her ear....... that’s my 10kobo piece of advice.

RICHDOTCOM: I liked the articulated way you raised your points and replies. One thing is missing, You have not studied islam. You dont know anything about islam. I see that as worrisome. Most people especially in Nigeria know Islam from what people say and not based on objective research. Yes, i agree with you absolutely that some of Vanessa's points is based on yardsticks that in some cases might not necessarily be the yardstick to follow and i am saying this as a muslim. I will advice you to research Islam yourself, understand why it is the fastest growing religion in the world today, understand why it is practiced by the number of adherents that practice it, pay attention to what notable people say about it, people like Mohammed Ali, one of the greatest and most popular athlete ever and why all he wanted, i repeat all he wanted was to die a muslim and so many others. It will lead you to at the very least understand Islam from an unbiased practical understanding. You will also learn and appreciate the fact that for the most part, those converting to islam has one thing peculiar, they are knowledgeable and they know what they are doing. Its mostly not based on getting prayers answered, solving economic hardship etc, that is why Islam is growing in the western world rapidly.

Ok I will keep studying to know more about Islam, thanks i appreciate.

Fekwa:

No, the war history of the Jews or the Muslims wasn't a case of fighting to protect, they were a case of deliberate conquest to dominate and control. You had people living their lands to wage war against isolated nations in order to conquer on the basis of an instruction from their deity. And history is replete with various instances of this kind of atrocity, both from the camp of Islam and that of Judaism.

My reasoning isn't biased in anyway. I'm just baffled by the fact that the worst religions in terms of their history of barbarity and mayhem seem to have the most followers and no one even bats an eye.

Again, like I said before, this wasn't a case of defence, it was a case of deliberate conquest. I don't see how this isn't obvious. And to answer your question, these deities claimed to be creators of the entire human race, but yet they picked sides in their revelation and their supposed protection. Allah or Yahweh based on their claims were the fathers or every human, not just a particular group, so what kind of father picks sides during wars and protects some of his children at the expense of others? What kind of father systematically divides his children into waring factions and instructs one to annihilate the other?

Of course every religion has its good teaching, but my point is that most people tend to ignore the slew of bad and violent histories specific to these religions. And since you like thought experiments, let me present one: If you were looking for a school to enroll your kid in and you had to choose between two schools; both schools were good schools. They had good teachers and they thought moral lessons. But one of the school had a very bad history. A history that included atrocities too bad to mention. Which school would you choose? Would you be wise to choose the school with the bad history?
Would you ignore it's history upon which it was founded.

I eat meat because I require the nutrients which the meat provides. The Israelites weren't offering dead meat to their deity because he also needed to eat them for nutritional benefits. No. Their deity required those sacrifices for the same reasons Dibias and Babalawos require sacrifices for their own deities. I am someone who loves knowledge and I have conversed with wiccans, highly spiritual folks and people who are close to shamans about the relevance of blood sacrifices and they all say the same thing - these sacrifices are used to appease beings in other lower dimensions because these beings feast on the essence of the animal that has been sacrificed. They also say that this quality is typical of dark/evil entities.

I have read the Bible and I am currently reading the Quran, I will please ask you to kindly give instances where the Jews went to wars primary to subdue a set of people living peacefully on their own...... I am not arguing I am asking this for learning purposes only.( especially from the Bible)

As for your second paragraph you asked what type of father picks sides in a war.... I can’t explain the action of any diety or God but from my understanding if I have a son that has gone out and against my laws for peaceful and healthy living and he is a member of various armed robber gang... and I have another that is still a good and loyal child, do you think any father will ever want both sons to mix? I for one will definitely warn the good one against being influenced by the bad ones......... and if it comes to a thing of life and death and I can only pick one, logically I will pick the good one.... and I know you will too.......... just my thought tho

From your thought experiment the 2 schools represents 2 religion..... which religion is represented by the good school? Lol just thinking

Blood offered to lower diety? Anybody that told you that is either not well grounded in his or her practice or is obviously trying to sweet talk you..... I am deep into spirituality, and I can tell you that notion right there is false.

Let me tell you what the spiritual realm is like, what applies to the “good” most times applies to the “bad”..... this is what I mean, if the “good” eats yam the “bad” most definitely will eat yam because there are under the same realm that governs the spiritual......

Let me tell you what blood is in the spiritual..... blood is like currency in spiritual realm, it’s like a currency of exchange, in same way “Love” is a currency of exchange..... Because blood is a means of exchange that the reason those blood money guys can invoke money from the spiritual realm when blood has been offered, in same way some people offer blood for some sort of spiritual power!!!

Most ancient religions practices that...... madam don’t be deceived.

But do you believe the spiritual rules the physical?

I totally understand what you are trying to say.... but in my opinion if you are trying to disapprove a religion base on the fact that the “God” or supreme being they worship could go and have gone to any length in order to protect and prevent his or her people from harm or destruction.... then I think that is a biased way or reasoning.

Let me put a question straight to you, if you are a father and will you rather look away when your children are under attack of any kind or you will do anything possible to protect and preserve your children..... will you rather watch your children Perish?

I can go to any length to protect my son....

2ndly all of these religion you mention aren’t totally bad and violent, it also has good and human loving teachings and I will be glad if you also do your research and mention the good side of it...... look at the good sides and also the “bad” side.

3rd I believe you eat meat which isn’t a bad thing, so what’s wrong if these guys kill animals and offer a burnt offering to their “God” I don’t think there was a time humans were used just animals.... I will like to know how is that a bad thing sir?

He has raised no point of law. Abraham was recorded to have paid tithe once and it was not from his salary. The Jewish tithe law was paid with crops although there was money at the time. The grace period which he has just juggled the meaning didn't make any laws on tithing as matter of fact, no record of any early Church taking peoples' 10% of salary as tithe. No word on justifications by that.

First Abrahams paid from his "salary" which was his produce at that point in time, today thing have changed and our produce happens to be "money" thus it's easier and acceptable..... you talked about the period of grace, do you know Jesus Christ talked about tithing ? Check out Matt 23:23(NKJ) and tell me what you find.

Also you talked about the early church not taking tithe, I we don't know if they paid tithe or not because it wasn't recorded, but what we do know was that they sold their property and brought the "money" to be shared among the believers..... also in 1corth 9:7 apostle Paul talked about the church helping the men of God.

Keep the Bible aside, I Personally have experience and can testify to the efficacy of tithing...... thus there is nothing anybody can or will tell me about tithing to change my mind.

Scenario 2: A Christian dumps Christianity and becomes a Muslim

Christian then say: he was never a Christian, just a church goer

The bullsheet is very obvious to an observer

The no true Scotsman fallacy makes no sense

Mind you, I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with either of them, just that it reeks of insincerity
