MrPresidon:
I SWALLOWED A FULL BUNCH OF KEYS

up till this day, I've been wondering how this was possible without having any damaging effect to my stomach or body.

Yes. I was around 4 or 5 yrs old at the time I swallowed a full bunch of keys. Nothing less than about 10 different keys in a bunch with a key holder.

Here's how it happened. I was lying down face upwards playing with the keys in my mouth when I accidentally gulped them; the whole damn keys. I was alone, so no one saw it happen. I was scared as he'll to tell my mom, she would have freaked the hell out and probably given me a whopping of my life (the main reason why I didn't tell her grin)

Later that evening she was looking for the keys and asked me if I saw them and I said no, knowing fully well they were being warmed up in my stomach grin. She finally assumed she had misplaced them.

Fast forward to when I became an adult, I would tell my friends and none would belive me. It was strange to me how nothing bad happened to me. I sha thank God
And you never passed it out with excruciating pain ? I would say you eat something but not the keys. The acid in your tummy couldn’t have been strong enough to dissolve the keys and they must come out somehow !

guobe:
Kids love playing rough play and we thank God that as kids we didn't sustain serious injuries like some kids who sustained.

A friend of mine was telling me of his friend who sustained serious neck injuries as a kid when he wanted to throw acrobatic.
He said till today the guy now as adult can't move his neck freely.

As a kid there was a day I was playing with two of my friends and the ball we were playing with got stuck in the ceiling.

I was like there will be many balls in that ceiling and if I can climb into the ceiling, I will be able to get alot of footballs to play with that got stuck at the ceiling from other people.

That is how I climbed the ceiling and was throwing all balls down and the first two rooms in the roof I passed the ceiling were made of plywood until I got to the third room which was my grandmother's room which was made of asbestos, and I fell into the room .
I had to climb back as it was a Sunday.
When my grand mum came back she shouted that thieves have broken into the house but those my two friends told her that it was me that did it.

Till today I still ask what if I was electrocuted in the ceiling?

It's just God that saved most of us when we were kids.
My cousin daring me to take a metal rod and touching a Nepa meter. I got shocked it wasn’t funny.

During Summer break jumping onto an empty trailer tractor on a dare and emptying 2 100L plastic cans of water in it so we could sell it to plastic melters company for money.

Was a passenger in a vehicle when someone carry 12 crates of empty bottle suddenly crossed the road. The driver hit him , the car jumped the gutter and headed straight into a nearby house. The guy back smashed our windshield and we kids at the back were saved only by the fact that we had our safety belts on. Never told a soul till today.

As a kid growing up we left school in grooves . Along the way we decided to head to Iju water works . They used to have a man made pond. On a dare , I decided to jump in from the deepest part. The problem was I couldn’t swim . I flapped my hands but the water pressure was too much tried kicking my legs for boyancy but it felt heavy as I though it was the end , one dude TAJUDEEN Pulled me up . That was the last time I went swimming. Even as an adult, I dont swim without a safety vest. Even if Halle Berry is naked and swimming alongside me I would give a hoot!.
Wherever you are TAJU - thanks for saving my life.

Sigh... What a brutal and terrible way to die.

I had to insist on a repair guy waiting for someone to firmly hold the ladder before he climbed... The guy was trying to act like I was insulting his abilities, but I held firm.

Told him if he didn't value his life, I valued my premises, and didn't want anyone's blood messing up my house.

A lot of these service guys and artisans don't value their lives and wellbeing... Absolutely no proper safety measures while working.

Marry who you're attracted to in all ways, desperation shouldn't push you to marry who's available and ready to do the needful. In a long run, you'll feel irritated and disgusted in whatever he does and nothing he does to please you will please you.

7 years now I have been out of marriage, and to be perfectly honest I have no regrets or whatsoever being a divorcee. This years of being alone has been the best years of my life. I am not going to say I inclined to celibacy these years, I do it, mainly to kill the urge but not emotionally attached to whoever is shagging.

To me, Marriage isn't worth it at all. It's simply overrated. I regret ever getting myself involved in this nonsense. I was probably naive then , I can't blame myself much.

FamilyRe: How Do I Deal With This Spousal Issue by rickleye: 12:17pm On Dec 13, 2024
Thinkingtru:
I really need advice regarding my spouse, as we’ve been having constant and unresolved conflicts. I’ve tried my best to address these issues by talking to her, but nothing seems to work. I’ve suggested everything from counselling to involving family members, but she refused.
She gets angry with everyone, even the children over the smallest things, and it feels like no matter what I do, it’s never right. What hurts the most is that she has started accusing me of things I would never do—things she knows deep down are not true. Whenever we have even the slightest disagreement over the phone, she hangs up on me. Most of the time, she won’t answer my calls or call me back.
There was a time when I confronted her about this behaviour. I told her about the missed calls, which were clearly logged on her phone. Instead of acknowledging it, she flared up and denied ever missing my calls.

I have been battling this behaviour for over 10 years, intimacy is gone, we have intimacy inly when she wants.
For the past three weeks I had to go for a work based training course for managerial promotion.

She always says she is busy when I call. She usually does this even when I am at home. Even when she picks up, there is so much noise—cracking of utensils and other sounds, she always make sure the discussion can not hold, if I tell her to let me know when she is free she usually says she is never free. Even when I go to her to start a conversation , for example when she is just sitting, she will suddenly start playing games on her phone, and when I try to tell to try and focus on the discussion she will say that, I can leave and that she does not listen with her hands.

Even when I call, or told her to call me anytime of the day that she is free, but she usually says there is never a time she is free. She tells me that if I cannot talk, I should hang up. When I call at night, she does not pick up and never returns my calls. If I call during the day, she is always in a hurry to end the conversation because she either wants to get some sleep or has something else to attend to.
For all these, her mum and her aunt have been involved in the issue, but they can not really talk to her, they are scared of her, infact , these are the two only two people that she barely communicates with as at now because her siblings , cousins and all have all kept their distance,
These past days, I reached out to her mom and uncle once again This has been going on for years, and instead of getting better, it’s only becoming worse. I feel completely drained and unsure of what to do.

Last week, I tried to have a talk with her to make her see how the marital disharmony was impacting all of us, including the kids. After I finished speaking, she didn’t say a word. I waited and tried to encourage her to respond, but she later said that if I was done talking, she had other things to do and a headache. That was all she said.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance.
Hmm - it will be well.

If she has been having issues that long she needs to be diagnosed. I believe she has some mental health issues. Like a chemical imbalance or ADHD attention deficit . She cannot maintain attention on something for long , she gets irritated or distracted or even bipolar . It’s not you or the kids or her family members. But you need to read up on these things and see if there is a specialist in country or outside in neighbouring countries.

I didn’t read if you said she works but I don’t think she would be able to maintain attention job . Once you read up on ADHD and other attention deficit , bipolar. You would need to ask the mum how she behaved when she was growing up to see the history.

Once you have determined which mental health issue . It will give you a certain perspective . Don’t shout at her but you may find that you’ll get more from her by texting than talking to her.

A change in environment might help but you’ll need to discuss with experts on how she can be helped to cope with this challenge.

All the best brother.

Classic case of marrying who you don’t love and loving whom you can’t marry.
She’s in love with you but you aren’t the safer choice. Sex with you might be amazing but you aren’t ready to settle down. The other dude might be older and finished sowing his wild oats while you still have some wild fantasies.

This happens to a lot of people irrespective of colour. It’s human nature.

I totally agree with the cheap price of ticket .... guess that's when she will travel ... doesn't matter if it's winter or summer! Children will be in school in January...why will they not be? January is not that cold? ... and for her? ...who been living for decades under Nigeria scorching sun? You not serious
So you are telling me that you have an opportunity to travel out of the country for the first time and you’d say no.? that It’s cold or hot ? Most people would say when and where . School is out for 2 -4 weeks as from December 20 and resumes 1 or 2 week in January. That way she gets to enjoy the Christmas season with the kids cause when that time strikes January 3rd the party is over and it’s back to work for the parents.
It depends on where you live ogbeni. She can layer up that she would be sweating under with thermal layers and sweaters and heated vehicle if she needs to go out . It’s not that she is taking a walk or shovelling snow. There are also some Indian winter where for a few days it’s -2 not frigid weather. She like everyone will adapt plus she is only staying a few weeks and then off to London as per OP.

Why would you ...and your younger ones invite your mother during winter? You know it is blistering cold in January... why torture her? Young healthy people travelling for the first time be crying about how cold it is....during late Spring ... and here you are bringing her to spend the middle of winter. Whatever she did to you and your younger ones ... instead of getting back at her ... forgive her. On clothing ...why can't you send her clothing? ...at least you can get her the right outfits and the right sizes. Is she travelling alone?...what if air pressure gets to her and her ears begin to "ring"? ....long distance air travel no be bus ride. My advice ... postpone her flight to July or August when the weather is much more like what she is used to ... she can move about comfortably and not be locked in during her stay
Cost of flight cheaper plus holiday season when kids are out of school . It’s not that cold unless there is a cold freeze.
