5,500 Christians in South Africa stood with Israel in prayer More than 5,500 Christians gathered at Mount Beulah Park and Mount Zion in Germiston for a powerful public demonstration of faith, prayer and solidarity with Israel. In the presence of Israel’s Deputy Ambassador, thousands prayed against antisemitism and for the peace of Jerusalem. This gathering sent a clear message: the ANC government’s hostile policy towards Israel does not represent millions of South Africans. They claimed that their biblical connection to Israel and our nations’ shared potential for prosperity cannot be ignored. They firmly believe that change is coming - and that it will be seen at the next local elections. Standing with Israel means standing for faith, truth and a better future for South Africa.

On This Day — September 20, 1984 A suicide car bomber tore through the U.S. Embassy annex in Awkar, north of Beirut, killing 23 people, including 2 Americans, and wounding dozens more. The bomber rammed the vehicle past concrete barriers under heavy gunfire before detonating, collapsing part of the embassy building. A Christian militia patrol had been guarding the compound at the time. Islamic Jihad Organization, a group linked to the nascent Hezbollah, claimed responsibility — part of a wave of attacks tied to Iran-backed militants targeting Western and Israeli interests in Lebanon during that period. Slowly, the roads become empty. The cars disappear. Businesses close. Israel becomes still. This is Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year. For 25 hours, millions fast, pray, reflect, and seek forgiveness from God. In a world that never seems to stop, Israel pauses. G’mar Chatima Tova 🇮🇱✡️ Photos by Erik Marmor/Flash 90 1 Like

Iran shut down the French Language Centre in Tehran on Sunday, with the judiciary's Mizan news outlet reporting the Tehran prosecutor's office ordered the closure after accusing the Embassy-affiliated institute of using language instruction as cover to network with Iranian elites and help facilitate their departure from the country. Authorities also alleged the centre's activities violated diplomatic conventions. The move lands amid a broader deterioration in Tehran-Paris ties: France expelled two Iranian diplomats last month after Iran briefly detained and expelled two French envoys, whom Tehran had accused of "interference in Iran's internal affairs."

Israeli security forces are preparing to carry out a series of "extensive" operations in the West Bank during Yom Kippur, following this morning's deadly shooting attack. The IDF is currently imposing a closure on several Palestinian villages in the Ramallah area, where the attack took place. Starting tonight and during the fast, the military says it is preparing to conduct dozens of arrest raids in the West Bank, including those suspected of involvement in today's attack. A brigade-level operation will also be conducted in the gunman's village, and troops are set to raid his home to map it out ahead of its planned demolition, according to the IDF. Forces from the military, police, Shin Bet, and the Civil Administration will also increase their presence in settlements and along main routes. Following the army's latest troop buildup, the West Bank now has the equivalent of 27 battalions, including special forces. 2 Likes |

Two Hamas terrorists who invaded Israel during the October 7, 2023, onslaught and another member of the terror group's elite Nukhba Force were killed in recent strikes in the Gaza Strip, the military and Shin Bet security agency announce. The military and security agency say a separate strike over the weekend killed Mohammad Rafa'i, a member of Hamas's Daraj-Tuffah Battalion who invaded Israel on October 7, and Basir al-Barsh, a Nukhba commander. The three terrorists had been advancing attacks on troops and Israeli civilians, and acting to restore Hamas's capabilities, "in systematic violation of the ceasefire," the joint statement says, adding that they were killed "to remove the threat." 1 Like |
