Qatar tried to kill a major deal between Volkswagen and Israel’s Rafael. Its sovereign wealth fund, which holds 17% of VW’s voting rights, opposed plans to produce components for Iron Dome at the Osnabrück plant. Now Germany may have found a way around it: Lower Saxony is considering investing at least €200 million and taking control of parts of the plant, allowing it to deal directly with Rafael bypassing Qatar and potentially saving 2,300 German jobs. For years, Qatar helped bankroll Hamas-ruled Gaza while presenting itself to the world as a mediator. Now it tried to use its economic power in Europe to obstruct production connected to a system that protects Israeli civilians from terrorist rockets. This time, Germany found a way around Qatar. Finland-Israel Relations: Finland Halts Funding to UNRWA and Signs Security Agreement with Israel A European country strengthening ties with Israel is not commonplace in this era. The Finnish government has secretly signed a broad-ranging security framework agreement in recent days, under which the countries will cooperate in defense production and procurement for a period of ten years, with a focus on air defense, according to the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation. Following the revelation, strong criticism was voiced by opposition figures in Finland regarding the agreement with Israel, which has been dubbed "a disgrace." Despite this, the Finnish Minister of Defense defended the move. In addition, Finland has chosen to halt funding of $20 million to UNRWA. Kiitos paljon, Suomi! 🇫🇮 (Abu Ali)

Nearly 100,000 Jewish people gathered last night at the Western Wall in Jerusalem to pray, cry out, and bring their petitions before God: “Master of forgiveness, Searcher of hearts, Revealer of mysteries, Speaker of righteousness. We have sinned before You - have mercy upon us. Glorious in wonders, Ancient in consolations, Rememberer of the covenant with the fathers, Examiner of the innermost being. We have sinned before You - have mercy upon us. Good and gracious to all creation, Knower of all hidden things, Subduer of iniquities, Clothed in righteousness. We have sinned before You - have mercy upon us. Abounding in merits, Awesome in praises, Forgiver of iniquities, Answerer in times of trouble. We have sinned before You – have mercy upon us. Worker of salvation, Foreseer of the future, Caller of the generations, Rider of the highest heavens. We have sinned before You – have mercy upon us. Hearer of prayers, Perfect in knowledge. We have sinned before You – have mercy upon us.” Arab media channels described this gathering as a “Jewish invasion” of what they called their sacred Muslim holy site.

Turkey didn’t kill 70,000 people. It killed over 4.5 million. It’s arguably the most genocidal nation in history. But you’ll never hear Hasan Piker speak about the horrors that his own people have committed. I wonder why! (Dr. Maalouf on X)

Recent satellite imagery suggests that the Department of War has conducted a covert dredging operation to open up a never-before-used shipping corridor through the Omani side of the Strait of Hormuz. The corridor in question is an approximately 1,600-foot-wide waterway with a natural depth of about 93 feet, meaning that only a small amount of dredging would have been necessary to make it safe for VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers). Worth noting, ships navigating this corridor remain completely outside the Iranian regime’s line of sight due to the Omani island of Jazirat Musandam and the curvature of the Earth. During a meeting with Iran’s foreign minister, Hassan Khomeini - the grandson of the Islamic Republic’s founder - reportedly urged the IRGC to stand down and support an agreement with the United States. Significantly, he invoked the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and described it as a “clear conquest.” The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was signed in 628 between Muhammad and the Quraysh rulers of Mecca. It was intended to establish a ten-year truce, but it lasted only about two years. During that time, Muhammad’s position grew considerably stronger. In 630, following a conflict involving tribes allied with both sides, he marched on Mecca with approximately 10,000 men and conquered the city. This historical reference is highly revealing. Hudaybiyyah did not represent permanent peace. It represented a temporary truce that provided time to regroup, build strength, and act when circumstances became more favorable. When an Iranian leader invokes Hudaybiyyah while promoting an agreement with the United States, the West should listen carefully. To Western ears, it may sound like peace. To the Iranian regime, it may mean strategic patience - a pause until it is strong enough to strike.

HOW THE U.S. IS BREAKING IRAN’S GRIP ON THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ For years, Iran built a myth around the Strait of Hormuz - that it could close this critical waterway and that America would be unable to stop it. The U.S. was initially caught unprepared. But while much of the world was talking about an unbeatable Iranian blockade, CENTCOM and the U.S. Fifth Fleet were quietly dismantling it. Iran never needed to sink every tanker. Its strategy was to hit enough ships to frighten shipping companies, crews and insurers away. It relied primarily on five tools - mobile radars, drones, cruise missiles, fast boats and naval mines. CENTCOM responded with a strategy of systematically blinding Iran. Large Iranian radar installations were relatively easy to destroy. Iran then relied on mobile radars mounted on trucks that would briefly activate, locate ships and disappear. But every transmission exposed them. U.S. forces systematically hunted these radars and other sensors. Hundreds of precision strikes gradually degraded Iran’s ability to detect and target ships in the strait. At the same time, unmanned vessels searched the shipping lanes for naval mines and neutralized them. Eventually, the Fifth Fleet declared the southern route near Oman cleared of mines. Then came the convoys. Tankers and merchant vessels began moving through the southern corridor under the protection of Aegis-equipped Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. The convoys reportedly sail mainly at night with AIS transponders switched off, making them much harder for Iran - and civilian tracking services - to locate. From above, drones and Apache helicopters provide additional protection, including APKWS-guided rockets capable of engaging drones and other threats. Washington also reportedly provided financial guarantees to participating ships, helping offset soaring insurance costs and convincing shipping companies to return. And it worked. More than 8 million barrels of oil per day are reportedly moving through Hormuz again. Add pipelines and alternative export routes, and estimates put total Gulf exports at roughly 10–13 million barrels per day. That’s still below the roughly 21 million barrels that moved through Hormuz before the war - but enough, together with changes in global supply and demand, to prevent the catastrophic energy crisis many predicted. Oil prices have risen, but nowhere near the predictions of $150+ per barrel and a global economic depression. Iran’s strategy depended on fear. Blind its sensors. Clear its mines. Protect the tankers. Reduce the financial risk. And the blockade begins to collapse. The war against Iran is not over. Ultimately, victory will come only when the ayatollah regime falls. But the battle for Hormuz appears closer than ever to being decided. Iran tried to hold the world’s energy supply hostage. America is systematically breaking its grip. (Tamir Morag) |

Trump on Iran: A lot of pipelines are being built. I think the Hormuz Strait is not going to be quite as important as it was in the past. |

Axios: U.S. forces quietly opened a protected shipping corridor through the southern Strait of Hormuz, allowing 15–20 tankers to transit nightly. Officials say the operation is now moving nearly 10 million barrels of oil per day—roughly half pre-war levels—helping ease global supply disruptions. The U.S. military coordinates tanker movements with Gulf partners while U.S. fighter jets protect ships from Iranian drones and cruise missiles. Officials say recent U.S. strikes diminished Iran’s surveillance capabilities, giving Tehran limited visibility into the corridor.

What used to be whispered is now being said out loud: Turkey is on a fast collision course with Israel. Based on their knowledge of Israel’s capabilities, they’ll probably choose to wait for Russia to take the lead. The Ezekiel GogMagog war is no longer confined to fiction books. It’s in today’s news! |
The UAE just severed all trade and financial transactions with Iran — cutting off an economic artery that U.S. sanctions struggled to reach for years. Dubai supplied 31% of Iran's imports, valued at roughly $21 billion in 2024, and served as Tehran's primary gateway to global commerce. The freeze comes after the UAE accused Iran of firing ballistic missiles toward maritime traffic, a charge Tehran calls "baseless." The move deepens Iran's isolation as U.S.-Iran diplomacy has collapsed over the Strait of Hormuz, with Trump declaring no talks are underway or planned and posting a map labeling the waterway "NEW U.S. Territory." President Trump shifted his policy on Iran toward slowly choking the regime rather than launching kinetic attacks. Israel has no problem with this approach either. Whatever works to weaken this evil regime should be pursued. However… if you think the IRGC will let this go on for too long, kiss that thought goodbye. They need to break free from this chokehold while also embarrassing the president so that he suffers a defeat in the midterms. Bottom line - expect something this October! Amir T |
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will not tolerate Turkish presence "further south" in Syria, after the Israeli Air Force bombed a Syrian airport where Israel says Turkey was planning to deploy forces. "We will not tolerate a Turkish military presence establishing itself further south, because it threatens us. We conveyed that. Now, we saw that Turkey intends to establish itself at an airport south of its line, near Aleppo, and we conveyed a message," Netanyahu says in a video published on his X account. "The message was conveyed, but apparently it was not heard, so we made sure they understood it better," he adds, referring to the strike on Abu al-Duhur base. |
After the IDF's strike on a Syrian airbase where Israel says Turkey was planning to deploy forces, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says the military "will not allow hostile forces to establish themselves along our borders." Zamir visited troops in the Israeli-held buffer zone in southern Syria this morning, during which he held an assessment with senior officers. "We see what is happening and are monitoring the changes on the Syrian front. We must prepare for them accordingly," he says, according to remarks provided by the IDF. "We will not allow hostile forces to establish themselves along our borders, and we will know how to use our power precisely where it is needed and when it is needed," Zamir says. The IDF chief adds the military "must prevent the development of terror threats, while at the same time preventing the emergence of a significant military threat along our borders."

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir toured the Israeli-held buffer zone in southern Syria this morning, according to the military. The IDF says Zamir was joined by senior officers, received a security briefing, and met with reservists operating in the area. The visit comes a day after the IDF carried out a rare strike in Syria, targeting an airbase where Israel says Turkey was planning to deploy forces. |
Israel confirms it was behind overnight airstrikes against a Syrian military airport, where it claims Turkey was planning to deploy forces. "Israel and Syria agreed to a status quo in security matters, which Syria was on the verge of breaching by permitting Turkish troops to deploy at an airbase near Aleppo," says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office in an English-language statement. The Prime Minister's Office says Israel "repeatedly warned Syria that such a deployment would pose a threat to Israel's security." "Syria chose to ignore these warnings," the PMO says, adding a that Israel "will not tolerate threats to its security, and would welcome a return to the status quo." |
Four commanders in Hamas's elite Nukhba Force were killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza City yesterday, the military announces. Palestinian media reported that the strike on a cafe near the city's port killed six and wounded 14. The IDF says it was able to confirm that the strike killed four Nukhba Force commanders in Hamas's Beit Lahia Battalion. They are named as: Muhammad Hamdi Ahmed al-Masri, a company commander; Samad Samir Harb Abu Jabal, a platoon commander who invaded Israel during the October 7 onslaught; Muhammad Attar, a platoon commander; and Muhammad Fathi Hussein Nasser, also a platoon commander. The military says the operatives were involved in advancing attacks on troops. "The commanders' activities posed a threat to IDF troops, and they were therefore eliminated in an aerial strike to remove the threat," the army adds. |

Iran President Pezeshkian: Price increases are natural. Previously, we imported goods by ship, but now they have to travel a longer route, resulting in higher overall costs. Our revenues have also declined, and our oil revenues have been cut off. Some of our factories are facing difficulties, and tax revenues have fallen as well. Not only are we unable to collect taxes from these factories, but we also have to support them and help them through these difficulties. The wheel must turn, I can't do anything for that wheel not to turn. It means our problem has multiplied several times, on the other hand, our income has decreased.
