Revolution2022:Direct your lame question and frustration in general to small-minded elements like you. I'm not the cause of your problems. Bumpkin. |
The primary reason he traveled to India isn't because of the G20 summit, which will just be an icing of the cake. He is in India to sell his economic reforms and policies to the Indian business community and global business community in general with hope of attracting huge FDI. |
India is the Anglicise name of the Hindi word "Bharat." Most Indians have always preferred the Hindi version and have always used it for themselves. So, they aren't trying to change anything per se rather they've been agitating for the official adoption of the this Hindi version on the global stage. |
The reason is that Nigeria is not member, so he (Nigeria) will be participating simply as a guest. |
The first rule of thumb remains sacrosanct - never be at the mercy of a small-minded woman (or man) - unless you don't value your dominion and dignity. But if you must be, let it be deliberate and with an ability to show them that they've only been a figurehead all along by your making. |
badoh:Keep quiet, not everyone in Nairaland is as myopic as you and your likes are. The abolition of Petroleum Subsidy ought to have ended on June 30, not May 31 as he prematurely and impulsively announced. The team that was commissioned to work out the cushioning mechanism before the June 30 date had just rounded up the assignment and submitted the white paper to him, to which he was delighted, only for him to go on live broadcast less than 24 hours later to make the impulsive embarrassing pronouncement which he is still secretly regretting up to this moment. |
BoldBrainz:Military what? It operates a dual executive republic - a semi-presidential system - which is still a type of democracy. |
The main problem president BAT has isn't really just that he's a novice in International Diplomacy; rather, he's impulsive, which has always been one of his weaknesses - of course, we all have our weaknesses. Unfortunately, impulsiveness and unbridled pride go hand in hand. I just wish his close handlers could find a way to curtail his weakness in this regard; else, Nigerians are in for a long rough ride. Up till date, he is still secretly regretting the impulsive declaration of an end to the petroleum subsidy regime without first perfecting and implementing cushioning mechanism before the formal end of the petroleum subsidy regime, which his inner circle had earlier suggested and to which he assented. |
tensazangetsu20:According to you: "In Chile absolutely no one speaks English and I mean it." Stop yarning thrash. You really think that everyone on Nairaland is as myopic as you and your likes are. More than 8 percent of the Chilean citizens speak English at proficient level. Also, the fact that you believe that you know a country like Brazil, just because you spent less than 48 hours on transit there and might have read a bit about the country, more than some of the people who own thriving companies in the same country shows how conceited you're. In fact, if only you knew that some Nigerians that run things in the same Chile, both those who live within and outside it, are on this forum. The problem most of you have is that you do take every information you see on Google, Internet in general, on a face value. |
Apart from "His eyes looked cold and dead like someone who has seen everything there is to see in life and he had checked out of humanity," there is nothing strange, or wrong, about him traveling with only a small handbag (clutching a small handbag). Equating that to criminal undertone and whatnot like you all would, and have always done, is insanity or points to the bumpkin you lots are. Personally, apart from once, I have not traveled to any of the various countries I have been to or returned with more than my small handbag. A portfolio and/or laptop bag, or sometimes only a suitcase, has always been sufficient for me. Some of you don't seem to understand the peace and pleasure in living some kind of lifestyle and might never experience it. |
One, among other numerous instances, is if you find yourself in a business/political trumped-up by the highest authority in some countries, where, despite your innocence and long money, all you need to get off the hook is a sound judgment from an official of the same authority with good conscience because not even the best lawyer in the world can favorably defend your innocence and graft will only worsen your case. |
Presently, if you're a green pasture seeker from Nigeria, and Africa in general, avoid Sweden as much as you can if you aren't a top-notch professional in the IT and medical fields, and better if you're relatively independent in these fields also. Instead, try Norway. Don't allow beautiful photos and posturing of anyone to lead you to your doom. |
farem:Stop prattling like a typical bumpkin. His alleged statement in bold did not capture and address my concern. Only bumpkins like both of you will literally ascribe "the smartest people in this world" to Nigerians. Are some Nigerians smart, yes; are most Nigerians smart, no. When next the both of you want to talk and look for who to ascribe the smartest, not perfidious, people in the world, give it to the Japanese, Singaporeans, Germans, Chinese, Liechtensteiners, South Koreans, etc. Now, scram and direct your further mention(s) to your fellow bumpkins. |
I wonder how and why a diligent person should be expected to totally cut off communication and comradeship in general with a diligent ex of good standing just because of marriage or any other commitments. Balderdash! |
Notionally, yes; literally, no. He should stop mistaking perfidy for smartness. |
What has been happening to her relationship-wise has nothing to do with her, or family, financial and social standing in general. She's just a special-needs person, which most people don't know. So, the only type of man who can retain her (and who most importantly must be the kind of man she envisaged for herself) after knowing her well for a long-term meaningful relationship/union must be the kind of man who has affinity for special-needs children (persons). Provided that he's discernible to see her for who she is from the inception, accept that that is whom she's inherently, and has the grit to pilot the relationship, he'll be able to help her gain stability without losing himself (sanity) in the process. She can't help herself much, no matter how hard she would wish to. Some women with similar conditions like hers are on this forum and everywhere else. |
Nonsense news. If you're ignorant, like all of the commenters here and the national dailies that carried the news, you'll think that the supposed "State of Birland" is one flourishing country whereas it's an unihabitated, unclaimed area by both Sudan and Egypt with a zero population. |
Truly, people will always be a product of their enclave, especially when they are inherently myopic and daft in general. People like you and your likes are so myopic that you can't afford to understand that the world does not revolve around you and your respective enclaves that produce the alleged multitude of lazy, irresponsible, and unresourceful men that you have become accustomed to. It is also this same myopia that has made it impossible for all of you in this dance of shame to see that the prevalence of the multitude of lazy, irresponsible, and unresourceful men in your enclaves is not a national problem but simply your enclave problem. It is unfortunate that you myopic elements might never have the privilege to live and work in the numerous enclaves where laziness and failure are not options for men - and women alike - thus, will die with this same myopic worldview and daftness in general. Quite pathetic. People from unprogressive enclaves and daftness are inseparable. |
Self-deceit will always remain the worst form of deceit. You played yourself. The main problem here, aside from his alleged thoughtlessness, which is the co-main problem in the union, from the connotation of your submissions, is that you have never seen that man beyond the good he could offer you materially. You have always seen him as an object of utility. Yes, he might have been broke when you met him, just as he is still, as you alleged, but you never envisioned that it would take him time longer than it has taken to have his breakthrough. You misdiagnosed the duration his potential would start yielding positive material results while pretentiously giving him the impression that you saw him beyond being an object of utility. It is because his breakthrough seems to have taken time longer than you estimated that is the root cause of your aversion for him with his alleged thoughtlessness compounding everything - his alleged thoughtlessness is bad; he could do better. Well, if you can start seeing him beyond an object of utility and doing whatever you know is right at every given time, reconcile and go back to him, provided that he, on his part, is ready to start striving to do whatever he knows is right too. Both of you can do better. Meanwhile, it may surprise you to know that almost all of these people who have been telling you to end everything with him permanently are having it worse in their marital and/or personal lives without rocking the boats. In summary, your marriage can succeed, and you can have happiness and prosperity in it with your husband. |
Fineman2:So a wife should act on the whims and caprices of her domineering and/or self-absorbing husband to be counted as a submissive wife. Stop equating and propagating servility for submissiveness. Unless she does take delight in being servile, some women, and even some men, do, she should abort mission. |
So, in a situation where the children are complacent and/or irresponsible, you expect a responsible, tenacious, and resourceful mother to fold her arms and watch the complacent children take control of the wealth and waste it. Some of you don't always seem to understand that as difficult as it could be to acquire wealth in some circumstances, it is more difficult to maintain and sustain it; thus, when the chief accumulator becomes unhealthy/dead, the next most tenacious, resourceful and responsible adult available, regardless of the gender, should automatically take control of the wealth for its preservation and the good of all concerned. Only cowards and callous people do run away from fighting for a cause they believe is just. |
Citing the connotation of your submissions, you're a sententious woman. So, all of the things you've passed through in his hands were unfortunately inevitable under the setting and general circumstances in the union. The frequent condescending nonoral demeanor of a typical sententious spouse towards their other half does irk and kill them faster than the oral and physical confrontation of an overt abuser. Work on yourself. Every form of abuse is bad. Of course, I don't hold a brief for him. He could do better on his own part. |
President BAT made a mistake with the pronouncement on the day he did - he committed errors of wrong timing, inconsideration, and ignorance/arrogance. For one, there is a provision for the subsidy in the 2023 budget up to June 30. An inspiring leader in his stead would have sourced for money to fund it, because in the absence of that the supposed unavailable money will still be counted as part of the year's budget expenditure in the end - so a few people have concluded arrangements on how to share the June subsidy money. |
Strive to meet him. Yours, as a man, should be to strive to make, implement, and walk the rule of what you know is right at all times without minding who is happy or not and, by extension, discarding anyone around you that doesn't want to cheerfully and voluntarily walk the rule with you. |
@OP I wager your assertion that racism is at a 0 level in Russia is an aberration. There is racism in Russia, even though one can favorably say that since Putin's current dispensation as Russian president, there has been less overt systemic racism against blacks in Russia than in the UK and America - this is based on firsthand experience from the three countries - but it wasn't so during his first dispensation and before him in general. The 15 years jail term that awaits any Russian that abuses any foreigner unjustly did the magic. |
Charlatan! God did not tell you anything - all of you charlatans should stop making God appear clueless. It's always absurd seeing these charlatans ascribe personal opinions - which everyone is entitled to theirs - as the mind of God or commonplace realities as prophecies. One would have thought that the noise he made in 2015 about Jonathan's re-election being a done deal, which didn't happen, would've made him stop dishing out his personal opinions as God's mind. |
Don't do it without his frank consent, given that you'll not, wittingly or unwittingly, be selfless enough to renovate it without an expectation of becoming a bigger stakeholder on the property on that premise and/or to recoup the money you will spend in general. So, both of you must formally agree in principle on how to raise the capital - you'll indicate to him your readiness to raise it from your purse - the amount to spend, and how and duration to repay the credit afterward. Understanding - which must stem from mutual frankness, selflessness, and discernment - is all that is needed to get things done under the circumstances. |
You're akin to an ignorant and hypocritical prude and have failed to see beyond your conceited and delusional self. Well, you just need a change of concept; accept the fact that every woman (or man) is capable of both good and bad, even though some can be more susceptible to either of the two than others. Now, given that you're an adult, just like the women you've been meeting and will continue meeting, instead of waiting for them to err so that you can debase and discard them or for them to use pretense to give you the semblance of what you wish for, have a philosophy you walk on as your standard and always make sure that you pronounce it clear and loud to any woman, or man, that comes close to you. Under this arrangement, the longevity or short-live of your relationship with any woman will depend on her ability or otherwise to live within the confines of the set standard under your knowledge/presence. This concept will make it possible for you not to put anyone on a pedestal, which is good for your overall mental health. Whatever happens outside of your presence will not bother or shock you, and if it mistakenly comes to your knowledge, you discard her, maybe after meting out some cruelty to her. Don't try to conquer what isn't conquerable; instead, strive to conquer yourself without striving to conquer the world, and love the world without hating yourself. The fairer the set standard/philosophy is, the better. You need grit to establish, live, and implement a philosophy. So, if you aren't gritty, strive to become and look for a woman who's or has the ability to for the journey. In summary, try a lifestyle based on principle rather than one based on expediency or illusory wishes. |
Nazgul:It's either you're ignorant, which is the reason why you don't know that something like pretense does exist, or you're just another hypocritically disingenuous element. I wager it's the latter, given that, from all indications, you're not the most daft person around not to have known how to factor in the fact that his wife could have always been a toxic woman and that the success of her pretentious act pre-marriage is the reason why she's a thorn on his flesh now, having unglossed herself; instead, you decided to make him the culprit verbatim. Typical of wannabe liberal, loving, and understanding men like you who would rather take to political correctness to curry likeness and validations than to stand for what you know is just. Sincerely, only a few other things can be more irritating than a grown-up person, especially a grown-up man like you, who wears the garb of disingenuousness, of which the aim is to earn some likes and validations of like-minded small-minded elements. This is how you and your likes go about making impressionable women, people in general, believe that they can do no wrong, making it almost impossible for them to know their individual weaknesses - every human being has theirs because no one is perfect - and strive to conquer the conquerable ones so that they can enjoy fruitful relationships whenever they're lucky to have responsible men in their lives. @OP Provided that you're certain that you have been upright towards her and in the union in general, stop condoning her pettiness and toxicity in general, which are obviously killing you slowly. Make her understand that henceforth she has the option to revert to what she used to be pre-marriage; else, you make life unbearable for her and mean it in words and actions. Man up! Start to relate with her on principle. |
It simply means that more than 95% of Nigerian couples, whether they're home or abroad-based, are just frenemies living together. The issue of most couples divorcing after they relocate to the UK isn't a new trend; it has been going on for decades. As much as I can recollect, starting from the late 1980s to date, more than 95% of the overseas-based Nigerian men I know that married in Nigeria and relocated their wives overseas, their marriages have always ended up in divorce, whether the men or women involved are the cause is a different subject matter. In summary, relocation to a developed country, like the UK, simply hastens and/or aids divorce because of obvious factors. |
It depends on the factors around you. That said, on forerun, just strive to tailor the kind of financial system to run in your union based on your kind of personality and doings, the personality of your partner, and the kind of union you would love to have in general - just create your own style and encrypt it. Provided that you'll be in the union with a gritty woman and structurally centered everything about the union primarily on fairness and love in general, it'll flourish. Meanwhile, avoid the pitfall of envying anyone/copying verbatim any suggestion you see on a forum like this, maybe because it sounds sweet, accumulated many likes, or otherwise. This advice isn't just for you alone, though. As a passive seasoned dissector, a long-standing one for that matter on a forum like this, I can tell you without equivocation that 90% of the time, whatever most people say they do and/or claim to possess is just a sham. The family and romance sections of this forum harbor, by ratio, the highest number of liars, pretenders, and hypocrites you can find anywhere on the surface of the earth. So, in summary, be cautious of anyone, or people, that have a penchant for self-promotion. |
Stop the misinformation. Yes, Sylva has picked Joshua Maciver as his running mate. Joshua Maciver, however, isn't Tompolo's son. He's just one of his strongest allies in Bayelsa State. And for those who wished it was Lyon, instead of Sylva, that won the APC ticket and who believed that he's the best of grassroots men there; well, he's not a better grassroots man than Joshua Maciver. In fact, his success in the 2019 election was largely due to the support he got from Joshua Maciver. Both of them are from the same kingdom and LGA in general. Joshua Maciver defected to APC in 2019 after losing the PDP governorship ticket, just as he lost the APC ticket to Sylvia now, and teamed up with Lyon then. In summary, Sylvia made a smart move by picking him as his running mate because in so doing he's pacified Lyon and the Southern Ijaw LGA in general. |
