Philadelphia:Abia and Imo are South Eastern states, whether you want to claim Niger Delta or not. Nobody stopped Igbos from seceding with those states, as those were among the 5 states which Kanu refused, Why? Because even though Abia and Imo are ''Niger Delta states'' by your reckoning, they produce less than 2% of Nigeria's oil. And we know Kanu wants a lot more than 2%. I think even Ondo state and Lagos state have more oil than the south-east. The south-east could well be the most oil-deprived region of the country after Maiduguri. No wonder y'all so desperate to rope in the real Niger Delta. At least, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, GCBR (Grand Commander of the Biaflan Lepublic to come), is. |
BigDawsNet:Ode. First world people are struggling to flee from those places. Go on YouTube and see thousands of black Americans returning to AFRICA, starting successful businesses, and vowing never to return to live in the US. THE TIDE IS CHANGING. THE WORLD IS CHANGING. THE WEST IS NO LONGER WHAT IT USED TO BE. And with this 'covid' stuff, the west is further emasculating its citizenry and withdrawing their civil rights, with poverty and unemployment rising. So they're going downhill it appears. |
sagitariusbaby:That his doctor is in the UK does not mean that like you he is a slave to the UK, OK? |
BenAndrew:Nigeria's main investment and credit partner today is CHINA, not these declining entities llke UK, Ireland, USA and the EU. Has-beens living on past glory. In fact what Buhari should do now is sign a heavy duty military co-operation pact with Beijing, to forestall any nonsense from these western powers. |
. . . . . BUHARI SAYS NO. NIGERIA DECIDES WHO NIGERIA LETS IN ITS SPACE, NOT EU, NOT USA, NOT CANADA, NOT IRELAND, AND NOT UK. OK? THANK YOU. BYE BYE. . . . . https://acegif.com/wp-content/gif/nigeria-flag-4.gif |
koondog:FANATIC DUNCE AND SCHOOL DROP OUT WITH FOAM WHERE HIS BRAIN OUGHT TO BE. RETURN TO YOUR SPARE PARTS SHOP AND STOP EMBARRASSING IGBOS, ILLITERATE. YOU ARE MOCKING OTHER AFRICANS' CULTURE BY POSTING THEIR TRIBAL MARKS BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT RAISED PROPERLY, AND HAVE THE MENTALITY OF A BEAST. |
MadamExcellency:Deluded dunce. You are probably alive today because of the kindness and mercy of Nigerians. YOU LOST A WAR. Get that fact into your thick skull. Normally, there are TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES to losing a war, none of which you were made to experience, courtesy of Nigeria's kindness. Nigeria spared Igbo lives with Gowon's 'No Victor No Vanquished' policy, which stopped federal troops from marching in and ANNIHILATING YOUR ETHNIC GROUP after you'd surrendered and your leader had fled. The Nigerian govt even gave your people money! No one on Earth had ever seen a vIctor in war give money to the just defeated enemy to help them recover. Without Nigeria's magnanimity, which shocked the entire world at the time, there would actually be no ''Igboland'' today, and your towns and cities would have been long ago renamed to Yoruba and Hausa names. So lose that baseless arrogance founded on nothing but hot air and bombast. |
OfoIgbo:But there are even more millions of Igbos in the north and Lagos. Why are you not claiming those places as Biafra? Barawo. Ole. |
I laugh in Urhobo. ![]() OP, if you like yourself, better not take this your suggestion to His Excellency, the 'Dilector', Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, before he drives you away with koboko, or worse, orders his thugs to give you the beating of your life. Dem no born you well? You want to spoil the man's market, abi dem swear for you? ![]() oH OH OH. So you think all this their IPOB fight is so that they can sit with you in Aba and Owerri forming saint in a new country? Wakey wakey!!!!!!! Bro, Kanu's entire rationale for the ''struggle'' is about gaining control of the NIGER DELTA OIL FIELDS. He was interviewed and said so himself! He said in prison he was offered 5 Igbo states as Biafra, and he refused, saying he wanted the Niger Delta as well. OP, do you think his view has CHANGED on this? If only your Biafran freedom fighters would simply tell you Igbos the truth, which is that their campaign is just a clumsy oil grab attempt masquerading as a ''fight for freedom''. |
VaselineCrew:See this tribalist. You've remembered white man today as your excuse to hate your fellow black Africans. If you wish to go down that route of history, are you aware that before the whites came, there was NOTHING like an ''Igbo man'', a ''Yoruba man'', a ''Hausa man'' etc etc? It was the colonialists that built those language-based ethnicities. Or rather, decreed them into existence. Before they came, an Ijebu man was an Ijebu man who just happened to speak Yoruba. He was not a 'Yoruba man'. He felt no kinship or affinity with a man from Oshogbo, simply because they both spoke the same language.. Ethnicity was determined by ancestry, not language spoken. It was the colonialists who created these large ethnic blocs based on language, by fiat in order to prevent the unity of the Africans by creating ethnic divisions, ethnic rivalry, and disunity. The phenomenon of tribalism is a colonial construct. So retreating to a tribal ''Igbo republic'' is retreating into a BRITISH contraption, known as the ''Igbo tribe'' - a non-existent classification prior to colonial rule. The Igbos NEVER had any united empire or kingdom before the colonialists came. They never saw Igbo speakers as ''one people''. An Aro man saw himself as an Aro man. Finish. One village saw the next as a different country. They went to war against each other periodically, with casualties. So which Igbo people are you talking about? There was no such thing. The advantage of retaining NIGERIA is its sheer size and wealth. In today's world market size is everything. That is why we can have an Innoson, an Air Peace, a Dangote Group, an Ibeto Cement Group. A Zenith Bank. A Glo Corporation. These HUGE ENTITIES that will lead tomorrow's industrial world, could not have been formed in little countries like Togo and Liberia, Biafra, Gambia, Burkina Faso and Oduduwa Republic etc. It was the NIGERIAN MARKET of 210 million, that helped build them up. Nigeria's market size basically GUARANTEES that the nation will be a magnet of investment in coming years, and will become fully developed in the near future. There is no other way but UP. If we splinter into little tribal states, we lose the ability to attract the type of dramatic investment levels I'm talking about. Just look around at the other West African states around you. They are relatively small and ethnically homogeneous. Which one of them is El Dorado? NONE. Why? Not because they are not as 'smart' and 'brilliant' as Igbos claim they are, but because of specific market and geo-political factors which would also affect YOUR new republics. So instead of living in CLOUD CUCKOO LAND of imagining that your new republics will be the new Singapore, Dubai etc, GET REAL, APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE AS NIGERIA, AFRICA'S BIGGEST ECONOMY, learn to live with each other by hook or by crook till you finally get it right, and become the shining light and superpower of AfrIca you are destined to be. |
Twitter Desperate To Appease Abuja, As Buhari Ban Bites Twitter staff desperately searching for Nnamdi Kanu's posts to delete. https://t3.ftcdn.net/jpg/04/15/18/20/360_F_415182065_jg2StGBXviMQjodAJ1QiHnQdLVd8h2aG.jpg . . Twitter has gone ALL OUT to make amends with Abuja, over the recent standoff between the US social media giant and the Nigerian Presidency, led by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. Only yesterday they expressed their ''deep concern'' over the ban placed on them by Africa's biggest economy and largest internet ecosystem. Then yesterday they followed that up with desperate attempts to remove all threatening and offensive posts by Biafran secessionist warlord, Nnamdi Kanu, from their platform. As if this was not enough, Twitter went on to REMOVE its longstanding 'Support EndSars'' badge on its moniker. All this fence mending within barely 24 hours of The Nigerian govt announcing the ban of the popular US platform. This case highlights the validity of the ONE NIGERIA proposition. The power of this country will be dissipated if it breaks up into these little tribal republics of your small-minded, visionless dreams. No other African or black nation would be left to stand up to these ...foreigners. We'd all become Sierra Leone replicas. Ignored and bullied by the rest of the world. God forbid the breakup of this African Colossus. |

makemoneywbsite:Dude, until you understand that the people who push for Biafra do not care ONE HOOT about an ''Igbo nation'', the better for you. That nationalist crap is just something your secessionist leaders like Ojukwu and Kanu and IPOB use to blind you, the Igbo masses, to their real intent - the seizure of the Niger Delta oil fields by and for that small, rogue group of Igbo elite formed by Ojukwu, under the guise of ''Biafran self-determination''. This is why they never seem to care how many Igbos are killed in their 'wars' and 'uprisings'. 2 million, 3 million, 5 million, no problem. Now they are killing their own in Igboland, just to create mayhem. ANYTHING, to get their hands on that oil. Nnamdi Kanu himself admitted that he was offered the 5 Igbo states as Biafra while in prison, and he refused, saying he must have the Niger Delta. So much for Igbo nationhood, sacrificed on the altar of Niger Delta oil. |
Kundagarten:Nahhh. Nigeria will be the 3rd most populous nation and consumer market on Earth by 2050, after India and China. That makes Nigeria an investment magnet of the first order. Nigeria CAN afford to shun any investor that does not play by Nigerian rules. They are many more on the queue. One more thing. This is one reason why Nigeria will NEVER allow itself to ''break up''. It's economic size, and it's power to influence other nations and corporate entities is too precious and valuable to be dismantled. |
plaindealer:Twitter is a company that made 1.2 billion dollars last year. Nigeria has a TRILLION DOLLAR ANNUAL GDP, calculated by Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Nigeria GDP $1.116 trillion (PPP, 2021 est.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Nigeria Twitter is a little baby compared to Nigeria. |
plaindealer:You mean Twitter deleted ALL of IPOB's offensive tweets? Chei... See backtracking in full speed! I thought they were doing aggro with Buhari? Someone must have warned them not to provoke Baba too much, or risk a permanent ban. |
udede:Nahh..... Jack doesn't want no cheap, broke azz Igbo chic's butt, dude. Jack wants to kiss Buhari's butt. And he'll kiss it. As Nigerian president, Buhari's butt is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, and Jack knows it. |
Valkrie:What stones will fall on whose head? Abeg, illiterate, go to school (or YouTube) and learn a skill. Buhari no be your problem. Your juniors are making it big here in Nigeria with Buhari as president. |
Lastmankc:Dumbo. |
Kundagarten:Err no. By expressing their ''deep concern'' about being banned, by removing Kanu's incendiary tweets, and by removing their 'Support EndSars' badge from their moniker just today. You must be an absolute donkey if you can't see the kiss ass going on. |
plaindealer:LOL ![]() Amazing U-Turn. The great and mighty Twitter (according to some Nigerians), bowing before the African Giant, to avoid exclusion from Africa's biggest and fastest expanding digital ecosystem. Africa's TECH CAPITAL with no rival. ''Africa’s Tech Industry Found a Home in Lagos'' https://uncubed.com/daily/lagos-africas-largest-economy-is-also-a-startup-incubator/ Haba. They had to beg. Goodness knows the number of heated board meetings they've held in their headquarters since this debacle started. |
plaindealer:LOL. English communication is a real barrier. Maybe with Biafra they can return to the Nsibidi writing system of their ancestors. ![]() |
Kundagarten:YOU are the fool here. The Guardian which you posted, never said anything about a ''U-TURN'', which is what your local anti-Buhari amateur source interpreted the government clarification as. |
JohnBullMySon:Twitter also removed the Support EndSars badge from their Moniker today. What's your excuse for that one? ![]() |
Lastmankc:Your problem is you are jobless. In addition to being useless. Instead of spending time in Nairaland abusing your grandfathers, go on YouTube and learn a skill for FREE, and start a small business. One Lagos girl left uni with a degree and couldn't find a job. She went on YouTube and learnt how to bake exotic cakes. Some of her friends got salaried jobs, some entered olosho business. She's earning more than all of them. All she does is post her cakes on Instagram and FB. Orders flow in by the minute! People like this don't have time to come on Nairaland and be abusing Buhari. Be like them or perish in misery. |
Kundagarten:They are just a fly-by-night outfit. A source that lacks any journalistic credibility or recognition, interpreting a development in a way that suits their political agenda. |
WHAT ''U-TURN'' ARE YOU HALLUCINATING ABOUT, OP? TEMPORARY CAN BE EVEN LONGER THAN INDEFINITE. A BAN IS A BAN. Twitter will still need to make overtures to Abuja to make it reverse the decision. They started by deleting Kanu's tweets a few hours ago. And then they removed their 'Support Endsars' badge from their moniker. But they must do more. ![]() Nigeria holds ALL the cards here. ![]() |
Thanks OP. Twitter WILL remain banned until Jack whatever-his-name-is personally CRAWLS to Abuja to BEG President Buhari for forgiveness, with a promise to desist from further bias against Nigeria on his platform. If he likes he can make all these conciliatory moves. It will get him nowhere. I have said it that Twitter needs Nigeria far more than Nigeria needs Twitter. Nigeria is Africa's largest internet and digital ecosystem, projected to become the world's 3rd largest population and consumer market after India and China by 2050. Nigeria is a world class investment magnet of the first order, and is on the radar of every single major firm on Earth going forward. Nigeria does not need Twitter. Twitter needs Nigeria. |
AroleOduduwa2:BECAUSE YOU ARE A DUNCE WHO CANNOT THINK.. WHY NOT GO SET UP A PLATFORM THAT ALLOWS AMERICANS TO THREATEN THEIR GOVT OFFICIALS WITH DEATH, WHILE PREVENTING THE US GOVT FROM RESPONDING TO THEM, AND SEE HOW LONG YOU LAST. |
AntiBMC:Dude, the whole Nigeria is BEGGING Igbos to go with your landlocked Igbos states, which Kanu, your terrorist leader rejected, saying he wanted the Niger Delta as well. He cares more about the Niger Delta oil wealth than your Igbo nationhood obviously. YOU ARE THIEVES. GO TO HELL. NIGERIA DOESN'T WANT YOU, BUT YOU CANNOT GO WITH HER OIL RESOURCES, INUNA? NDU OSHI. CRIMINALS. COME CARRY OUR OIL THIEF MAKE WE DEY LOOK UNA. IF YOU TRY IT, YOUR LANDLOCKED REGION WILL BE TURNED TO A PARKING LOT, AND YOUR PEOPLE COMPLETELY WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. |
