Cherez: I laugh at you A whole China with its population, economy & wealth banned twitter e no shake na this entity that is so broke that they are borrowing from dead people's account they will fret about? Twitter banned Trump but only deleted a useless tweet by a tyrant and he responded so He's showing himself to the world already Air head, who told you the China ban does not hurt Twitter? They've lost tens of billions of dollars by being excluded. Twitter is not even in the top 10 of social media platforms. They need every market they can get, and getting banned by big markets like Nigeria isn't what their shareholders want to see going forward. And a country borrowing money has nothing to do with the size of its consumer market, you thoughtless blockhead. |

CodeTemplar: Twitter won't come begging your darling master. It is Nigerians who will scale the fences of the zoo and prison like structure to access twitter. I thought there was a laid down order to getting post or tweets reported but the BMCs like you who were suppose to advance that pro-APC govt cause didn't know their job and were busy opening Igbo vs Yoruba thread all over Nairaland. Just because an ignorant dunce like you calls Nigeria all sorts of names doesn't mean Twitter doesn't realise what side their bread is buttered on, with regards to Nigeria. Unlike you, they are smart enough to know that there is a limit to their shakara, or they lose billions of dollars. Twitter are the ones losing sleep over this. Not the Nigerian presidency. |

When Twitter comes begging, which they have no choice but to do, here are the 3 main conditions the FG must place on them, for re-entry into the Nigerian ecosystem.
1. Ban Nnamdi Kanu from Twitter.
2. Actively seek out and delete/ban posts which are capable of inciting violence and public unrest in Nigeria.
3. Publicly apologise to His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for the rude and insulting manner in which they've handled this matter.
Twitter needs Nigeria far more than Nigeria needs Twitter.
Nigeria is Africa's largest internet market. Africa's largest digital ecosystem, projected to become the world's 3rd most populous nation and consumer market after India and China by 2050.
Every major firm on Earth has Nigeria on its radar for investment going forward.
Twitter has no choice but to crawl to Buhari and BEG, or they will lose countless billions of dollars well into the future, to the chagrin of their shareholders. |

Techguy96: It's the companies policies, buhari also made a live video saying the exact words in those tweet, it was broadcast on NTA n different TV stations. Twitter has no power as u assume here. Twitter is just a social media platform the govt can decide not to use the platform when they did same to trump, he simply created his own media n his followers left twitter n joined him.
So are u saying if a buhari post an inappropriate content on niaraland, seun doesn't have the right to delete such content?
One thing u should know is that twitter does this everytime, recently they suspended half of Nigeria influencer on twitter, twitter delete n suspend people everytime, so it not like a target on buhari or anything. So why have they left Kanu to be posting his own without problems? |

Thousands of people reported Buhari's tweet And you think people have not been reporting Kanu's incendiary and inflammatory tweets all these years? They have. Twitter does nothing. |

Ladyhippolyta88: Jack won't feel zilch, you should worry about the Nigerians that benefit from using Twitter and how twitter helps our revenue.Nigeria is at loss not Twitter If Jack couldn't feel Trump's permanent ban and threats by Trump supporters to leave the platform which they later came back to he will not feel zilch.Nigeria is the one at loss not Twitter. You are ignorant. Twitter just lost upwards of 3 million subscribers, with the prospect of losing millions more in coming years in Nigeria, Africa's largest internet market, and you say they won't feel anything. You're clearly not a business person. Nigeria is projected to become the world's 3rd largest population and consumer market by 2050. Investment in NIGERIA is on the radar of EVERY major firm on Earth today. Twitter needs Nigeria far more than Nigeria needs Twitter. |

Why are you blaming twitter for the overall dissatisfaction of the population?
When people break the rules, report and they will be deleted, stop being silly and think about the consequences of this action What ''consequences''?
Nigeria is Africa's biggest economy, and is projected to be the world's 3rd largest population and consumer market by 2050.

That Buhari can call for dialogue and even rehabilitate boko haram that has killed thousands and destroyed infrastructure worth billions but is not ready to dialogue with IPOB .
Talk about fairness But they dialogued with IPOB. Kanu said he was offered the 5 Igbo states as Biafra, and he refused, saying he must have the Niger Delta as well. That shows you that seizing the oil resources of the nation is more important to him than Igbo nationhood. |

deltateam: Let's tell ourselves the truth. When Trump was banned did he ban the social media?
Now Twitter deleted Buhari's tweets for containing hate speech which lawyers could have sued him for but nobody is taking that step. Now he has banned Twitter from Nigeria.
It doesn't show tolerance. It shows a bully who always want to have things done his way always. It doesn't show responsibility either but arrogance and pride. Are these the qualities of a humane leader? Why does Twitter allow secessionists and extremists to post violent, threatening words against Nigeria, but deletes the president's post warning them to stop the violence, or face the consequences? NOT FAIR. |

Heavens will not fall until they ban Nairaland, Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok and restrict us to just making calls via sims that are registered and monitored.
