sorry for d insult.internal crisis led to the coming of oranmiyan to edo land.oranmiyan was d son of odudwa.oranmiyan named benin from ile ibinu{land of vexation}.he fatherd a son name eweka with an edo princess.then he left to yorubaland of ile ife to become ooni of ife.his son frm edo eweka became the first oba of benin.another of his son later became alafin of oyo.oba of benin and alafin of oyo are blood brothers..from this you see reasons why alake said ooni was number one.so we wasnt just ranting just stating the fact

- How far back can you trace the Yoruba history?
- Where was Yoruba when Benin Kingdom ones extended to as far as Dahomey?

Edo are not Yoruba but Benin are part of Yoruba which is the Capital of Edo state..... & The Yorubas in benin are d King.....& the most powerful people in Benin till date.... Everyone came from somewhere we don't know.......but the fact still remain old Ooni of Ife sent his son to be the King in Benin
