hardpecs: Hello Nairaland,
I am a white man living in the West. I have seen my people decline very fast, to a point where I dont think our future looks good.
For me to gain some perspective, and so that you may learn from our mistakes, where do you think we went wrong? The white man got too nosey He explored the world sooner and more than any others had, but he treaded and looted what he wanted from other lands. The fruits of his labour sprang good harvests (western world wealth& superpower nations), but also bad fruits (the burden of inflicting harm to other civilisations such as the African and the Asian). Being "white" in itself is a contradiction. What was considered a white man today (Scandanavian, Western European) is now different today (Whole of Europe, North Africans, anything walking with pale skin is considered white now) why because of the fears of your depleting numbers. |

De exist sha Although our women are undoubtedly beautiful, it's interesting to see other african cultures in the family. It's common to see ghana+nigerian, south-african+nigerian, British + nigerian, even Jamaican+nigerian Nigerian men are also seeking wives from the East or Horn, it used to be rare, but now it's become a phenomenon

pazienza: Numbers you pulled from your ass?
When was the ethnic census conducted in Nigeria? The last independent ethnic population estimates done in Nigeria by the unbiased colonials as of then was in 1921, and it clearly showed the Igbo numbers almost double of Yorubas.
This is a historical fact. 1921 loooooooooool Please Abeg, keep on taking your pills before the nurses dose you to sleep |

Don't you think so? *grins* But Those numbers mean nothing, I see how you weren't great at maths, you do realize that 21% is greater than 18% Or that 20.3% is also greater than 16% ? |

pazienza: A 1963 population figure that has Anambra, Enugu, Ogun, Kwara, etc in its data, when those anomalies created by Gowon only started existing from 1970.
Secondly, a dubious figure that took cognizant of of Yorubas presence in Kwara and Kogi, but ignored the Igbo presence in Delta, Edo, Rivers, Benue, etc.
Thirdly, how many of those Lagos population, actually belongs to Yorubas, seeing that we have huge population of non Yorubas in Lagos, which Ndiigbo consists the majority of?
In conclusion, your link, like most things associated with your people, is nothing but an Igbophobic lie, cooked up to massage your egos, but very far from being a representation of facts or truth. why do you assume that all people hate igbis, no one cares about you ! |

pazienza: Now that we have established that Ndiigbo were almost double the population of Yorubas in the past. As collaborated by an independent and then neutral colonials who were on ground.
Now, we have to establish that Ndiigbo remains almost double the size of Yorubas in this present era. Now you're trolling, did you pass maths in secondary school ? |

Badpost.com And it got likes! Very bad
@OP, insightful Although selling this truth to blacks would be hard We have embodied "being bad and morally lax" ...and the guilt that goes with it See the crowd in churches and mosques...
A real number has been done on the black race, smh I just feel soo hopeless about the issue I wish I knew what, and where to join
About the NAACP....the recent white-girl-leader-who-has-been-parading-as-black...and the reactions to her deceit (?fraud) has shoved the organisation down on my ladder of relevance. And quite conveniently, the Charleston church shooting ensured the fizzling out of any furore the issue had in the first place! I repeat ! This is an American problem, not ours! The black race isn't a collective, we don't go through the same rubbish here in Africa |

scholes0: Hhahah, I just did my own little research, and here is what I found out. https://i.imgur.com/48MyjKO.jpg
Note, these are the figures from the 1963 census.... Before the civil war, when igbos were enjoying considerable power on national level, so no one can say that these figures have been doctored by Yorubas..... infact as at 1963, a lot f the colonial structure left behind by the British were still in place, And I am sure the census itself must have been overseen by them. It clearly states here. Hausa: 20.9 Yoruba: 20.3 Igbo: 16.6 Fulani: 8.6 Kanuri: 4.1 Ibibio: 3.6 You proved me right 150% more the fact that the ratio % from 1960s are almost the same with the census i gave now, but a little lower FURTHER proving my point, that yorubas have increased in percentage after 50+ years. I REST MY CASE Goodbye |

barwaaqo: I want to go to Senegal or Botswana.
I can't wait to make the move I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready to leave this place behind. I plan on working to help the environment once I'm there maybe starting some planting and breeding programs. Promoting indigenous 'religion' and contemporary african fashion are other interest I have, there also needs to be more of an african influence on the architecture, the homes and buildings should reflect they are actually in AFRICA. I really like how you think, especially when you mentioned more african influence in architecture. That's a thought that has crossed my mind. but please before you do plan on moving, think wisely about the economic advantage you could benefit from and help improve in a specific country. first of all, what intrigues you about senegal or botswana, two very different regions. Im not surprised you didn't say Nigeria, even if it was a tourist attraction, it's a competitive place to make a type of living, Nigerians are very sharp and decisive, it's alot harder to make wealth in Nigeria, because everyone else is making money and hustling fast compared to black people in America. We don't play games in Nigeria. Do realize you would either be starting from bottom up or have at least several connections with wealthy people in the places you're interested in. |
Culture › Re: 2014 Census Shows That Yoruba People Are Becoming The Major Ethnic Group by Rivertemz(op): 11:13pm On Jun 28, 2015 |
pazienza: Which fact? You have no facts. Just a paper percentages with no real life backing, as ethnicity of origin was never included in the 2006 census data by NPC, so pray tell, where did you lots manufacture the ethnic percentages from?
The only ethnic group population percentage estimation ever done in Nigerian history, by the neutral colonials, showed that Ndiigbo leads Yorubas in population, by a long shot. Why are you so afraid, give me a link to this claim now !! specifying ethnic groups, not regional % because that's stupid |
