By the time I finally become an engineer, there'd be nothing left to make... ![]() |

What started as an idea in 2004 by Bertrand Piccard, a Swiss Psychiatrist and Baloonist was brought to reality 12 years later after the plane returned to Abu Dhabi where it had taken off in 2015. Together with Andre Borschberg, co-founder of the Solar Impulse project, and co-pilot of the aircraft, the journey of 40,000km kick started from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Great feats like crossing the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, flying 4-days straight to Japan thereby creating a record of the 'longest solar-powered flight' were achieved without any use of fuel or emission of environmental polluting gases. However, the Plane experienced technical difficulties that halted the journey for over 9-months. The aircraft's batteries reached critical operating temperatures, and due to Piccard's persistence to continue with the mission, the batteries suffered irreversible damage which led to delay in takeoff from Hawaii as engineers were working out replacement parts for the aircraft. Solar Impulse II resumed journey in April 2016, and went on to complete it's circumnavigation on 26 July 2016, 16 months after it begun it's journey. With Partners who believed in the same vision we developed solutions to make our airplanes very energy efficient. All these technologies can be used today in other applications to make our world more energy efficient as well." The team of over 80 engineers are not slowing down yet. Building on the success of the solar Impulse project, there is work to develop other solar aircrafts which includes a solar powered drone. We want to demonstrate the importance of clean technologies for sustainable development; and to place dreams and emotions back at the heart of scientific adventure.” Indeed there is no limit to what we can achieve! Growing up as a teenager in Nigeria is difficult, you see and hear of supposedly old men; stealing funds meant for the development of the country. You hear of lawmakers who are supposed to help build a reputable government for the people- Padding the budget for both selfish and sponsored reasons. You see groups like Avengers, Book Haram etc sponsored by these 'top men' wrecking havoc in the lifes of innocent citizens. Sometimes I question God on why he let me to be born into this hell. . . But looking into the big picture, it's upto us, the upcoming generation to get fed up with all nonsense, and bring a change into the nation. Forget about the President, forget about the governors, Bleep the ministers,, who our Legislature don help? Let's take our own future back from these old men.... Time for all upcoming Engineers to work together to bring about the next Silicon Valley, Doctors and Pharmaceutical students, take ur courses serious.... Your help would be greatly needed during this revolution. Sociologists, Economists, and all other neglected young minds out there..... Our time is coming! Let's be prepared so we won't be found wanting. Together, we will build the Nigeria of our dream. And make sure our own offsprings don't get to live in a hell like we did. I typed this outta pain in my heart. . . But I'm grateful,,,, There is a big plan! DISCLAIMER:. Don't try to understand this post. |
iPrevail:Er.... U're on the wrong thread bro, I'm sure the thread u're looking for is in the romance section. ![]() |

https://cdn.interestingengineering.com//wp-content/uploads/2016/07/graham-crash-face.jpeg We humans live in a world where cars have to be designed to protect us during crashes, but what if our bodies were built to survive crashes with little injury? Well, meet Graham. He is a life size realistic human sculpture that is meant to have the perfect anatomy to survive deadly car crashes. “Graham has been designed with bodily features that might be present in humans if they had evolved to withstand the forces involved in crashes. Studies have shown that the human body can only cope with impacts at speeds people can reach on their own, unassisted by vehicles.” You can see more about the making of Graham in the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHmqn2tZkto Graham is meant as an education tool from the Transport Accident Commission meant to help people realize just how harmful car crashes can be without proper protection. They have put together a 360˚ interactive website detailing all of Graham’s features, which you can check out here. “We have to accept people will always make mistakes, but modern vehicle safety technology and safe road design can drastically reduce the forces involved when a crash happens, making them more survivable.” ~ Mr. Calafiore, TAC CEO Probably your first question about Graham is why in the world does he have so many nipples?! Well, those aren’t nipples, they are biological airbags, which are exactly what humans need built-in to their ribcage to survive high-velocity impacts. Graham’s neck and forehead are the other most striking characteristics, each designed to maximize brain protection and whiplash damage in accidents. https://cdn.interestingengineering.com//wp-content/uploads/2016/07/graham-crash-body.jpeg Graham will be on display at the State Library of Victoria until August 8, before going on a roadshow, according to TAC. This bizarre looking humanoid sculpture really brings into reality how severe even small car accidents are. https://cdn.interestingengineering.com//wp-content/uploads/2016/07/side-of-model.jpeg https://cdn.interestingengineering.com//wp-content/uploads/2016/07/legs.jpeg |

God required animal sacrifices to provide a temporary covering of sins and to foreshadow the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Leviticus 4:35 , 5:10 ). Animal sacrifice is an important theme found throughout Scripture because “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” ( Hebrews 9:22 ). When Adam and Eve sinned, animals were killed by God to provide clothing for them (Genesis 3:21 ). Cain and Abel brought sacrifices to the Lord. Cain's was unacceptable because he brought fruit, while Abel's was acceptable because it was the “firstborn of his flock” ( Genesis 4:4-5 ). After the flood receded, Noah sacrificed animals to God (Genesis 8:20-21 ).Source : http://www.gotquestions.org/animal-sacrifices.html |
