Follow the blog link to see the video I uploaded. |
Today I was at my study table, and there were some carrots closeby (don't ask me how they got there...) With the way they were looking, I decided to take one in my hand and it felt comfortable like a pen, my phone was in the other hand and in unwitting fashion, I tried using the carrot as a stylus and BAM! It worked flawlessly. So I logged on the Internet to find out what was going on, and I'll like to share some interesting things I learnt in the process. First, we must know that there are two major categories of touchscreen displays: the RESISTIVE touchscreen display and the CAPACITIVE touchscreen display. Most phones in the world make use of the latter category. A capacitive touchscreen panel consists of some layers, two of which are of importance to this article. It consists of a Conductive layer which stores electric charges uniformly across the panel and on top of that, we have an insulated layer (like glass) which does not allow the free flow of electricity. What happens when we touch the screen is that we've created a distortion in the electric field of the screen, and so, instead of the electric charges in the capacitive layer to keep flowing in uniformity, they begin to flow towards the point were we placed our touch. So that if we slide our fingers across the screen, the electrons in that path would move along in attraction to the finger. All these processes are being monitored by a processor which can read and record the point[s] were the distortions were created. (Here's a YouTube video that'll explain the whole touchscreen process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzLoWDkBKXk ) How all these grammar take concern Carrot? LOL... Our body is able to control the touchscreen because it is a conductor of electric charges. And apart from the fact that carrots are the most nutritional/healthy food known to man, they can also conduct electricity too. . This is due to the presence of Potassium in the vegetable. - The element Potassium is a metal, and metals are good conductors of electricity due to their valency. You don't believe me? go ahead and try it out! Nature's Stylus! Blogged@ http://edscienceblog..com/2016/03/nature-stylus-carrot.html

HighIQ:I hate it when people make such statements @bolded. Your lecturer is human right? ![]() |
Well, he shouldn't have resisted arrest if he knew he wasn't a criminal. He should have gotten to the station and make his defence. Cuz, resisting arrest itself is a punishable offence, so he's automatically made himself a criminal in that sense. |

Ray Tomlinson, the creator of email and the first to widely use the ‘@’ symbol has died at the age of 74 today after suffering a heart attack. In 1971, he was the first person to send an email and chose the ‘@’ sign to separate his username from the web address. Tomlinson was an American programmer who sent the email through ARPANET, a predecessor to the modern internet. Among the first to mourn his death was Gmail, tweeting: Thank you, Ray Tomlinson, for inventing email and putting the @ sign on the map. #RIP — Gmail (@gmail) March 6, 2016 Coworkers of Ray say that he was humble and never boastful even though he held many awards and was even inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame. Email and the ‘@’ sign forever revolutionized the way that people communicate and how business is done all over the world. In an interview with NPR, Tomlinson described why he chose the ‘@’ symbol by saying, “it’s the only preposition on the keyboard.” Back in the day when email was invented, very few people used the internet, let alone communicated using the technology. However Tomlinson saw that there would become a need for stored communication through means other than the telephone recording machine, which was expensive at the time. While the invention of email may seem like a big deal, Ray says the “first email is completely forgettable” according to his interview in 2009. The news of his passing is tragic and perhaps puts into perspective how old the internet is becoming. We are no longer living in an age where constant communication and information availability is a novelty. Rather the internet has become the modern way of life, and many alive today don’t know of a time without it. In times of loss, it is often good to reflect back on who the man was and even what he has done. A video of Ray’s acceptance speech into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2012 can be seen below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJp0NHkBIAY Communication throughout the entire world has been changed forever by the programming ability and inventions stemming back Source: http://interestingengineering.com/creator-email-died/ Cc lalasticlala, mynd44

blueto:U should take ur time to go through this similar dumb thread.... ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/2273793/hard-fact-difference-btw-private/ Instead of looking for ways and means to get the government to improve the standard of learning in public institutions, u're here castigating organizations ur generation may never be able to get admitted in. ![]() Do you know that the curriculum ur lecturer is using to teach you is outdated? I know you wouldnt know that.. Cuz u're too dumb to know what's right from wrong. The other day, a picture of hall3 boys fetching water from inside a tank got to Frontpage (they had to climb into the tank to get water) and I saw ur fellow_retarded brothers hailing them, remembering their own days of I shake my head for the generation of youths we're producing in this country! We celebrate mediocrity as an achievement, instead of striving to improve the conditions we find ourselves. That's why we listen to junk music when we have musicians whose heads are well oiled in the art. That's why we elect officials based on sentiments and shortsightedness when we have great minds with great visions. I'm a student of Uniben, and I can categorically tell you that the school is overhyped! Those who have made it out of the school to become wonderful people in life are those few people who refused to join the wagon of students (like u) to be content with the conditions they found themselves. Instead they tried hard to make a difference. If there's any advice I'd just give u from my church mind, it'll be..... "stop seeing ur self like an accomplished person because u just gained admission into Uniben, because uve only just begun a process... And with all processes, it's end is all that matters. So instead of jumping upandan the world wide Web whilst displaying ur innate attitude, try finding resources that will help in ur choosing career in life" Ps. I know it'll take u time to phantom this post, but just take ur time to assimilate the best u can. OK? Goodevening. ![]() |
