Btw, the quoting option is not a medal, so what's the fuss There are so many fora out there where people do not attach this 'me me' to being quoted, so why "woof"? |

Politics › Re: MUST READ: "On Buhari And Biafra" - Punch Newspapers by ROCE: 8:38am On Sep 23, 2016 |
The focus here is wrong - we concentrate too much on the Number 1 citizen like that is where the problem is.
If the agitations were serious, just like the ND militants, the legislators and executive governors representing these people will be at the forefront. Otherwise, targeting Buhari or whoever is president is a cry baby tactic. Let the National Assembly consider having a referendum and see whether Buhari will respond or not. Let the so-called Biafran people unite and put up acts of civil disobedience and see what pressure can do to any government.
Because he knows that the agitators don't seem to know what they are really doing, he has paid less attention.
Once again, the focus is not the man at the center. The more you emphasise Buhari, the more it shows that some people have not healed from the defeat of the last elections. |

kengreatleads: I give this testimony to the glory of God and to the shame of the devil. At the end of my university education; through its ups and downs, bitter and sweet moments, I eventually graduated with a third-class degree in computer science. At that point in my life I was overly disappointed, highly discouraged and even suicidal on my bad days because I knew what was happening in the labour market. Every employer wanted graduates with second class upper and above for the limited and highly coveted employment slots. And here I was, I didn’t even have a 2.2, even if employers wanted to reach out in grace.
I had given my life to Christ on campus, and my thirst for God had intensified during this period. To the glory of God, even with my third-class degree, I did not sit at home as I got a job immediately, which is a whole miracle-story on its own. This job came with great exposure and an intense learning curve for me as a fresh graduate and I embraced the job even though the pay was not fantastic. Those of us who were taken by the company were put through a training programme to initiate us into Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing industry. Time went by and I emerged as one of the brightest trainees through the programme. We were soon staffed and placed on projects for multinational companies. After a while, some of my colleagues started filling out applications and searching for bigger opportunities. They would repeatedly forward job links and vacancies to me as I was considered one of the best among my peers. I did not apply for any of those positions as I was always self-defeated because of my third-class university certificate and the devil held it high up in my face all the time. I continued to do my job diligently and also develop myself in my field.
On Mother’s Day in May 2015, Pastor Nomthi preached about the unmerited grace and favour Moses witnessed in the house of Pharaoh, when there was an order to kill every male child of the Israelites. She said that Moses was not only spared but was raised as a prince. I immediately keyed into this lesson of grace and I was full of faith. I applied for a job someone had recommended me for and I was offered the position on the spot with 100 percent increase with good pension and sumptuous packages.
I thought I had seen all. Before the resumption date I was given, I was invited for another job interview with one of the telecom giants in Nigeria. Through the interview process I had to compete with the best of the best and even more experienced applicants. At the end of the interview and test process which lasted several weeks, I came out top as the preferred candidate of all. Now my problem became choosing between the two offers as they were both fantastic and had good prospects. I sought the face of the Lord who had made all these happen, and eventually I had to turn down the Multi-national Telecom Giant’s offer. Now I am at my new job and I have even been given opportunities to travel to different countries on projects (I had never travelled out of Nigeria before this job).
A month ago, another job offer came through with take-home package closing in on about half a million which I had to turn down after wide consultation and seeking the face of the Lord. I also did not apply for this job; all these opportunities came by recommendation. A third-class graduate now turning down job offers from multinational companies – it can only be God and I am here to give back ALL the praise to HIM alone.

Job seekers will only see hope in the story but nothing substantial they can use in even getting invites from multinationals. |

The South Eastern area is part of Nigeria but rather than getting sensible and positive contributions, what will fill this thread are comments of people mocking each other. Sometimes, I think Africans are their own problems. They are united in dividing each other.

It seems like we focus more on repairs than prevention. Following town planning guidelines and the (local) government fixing roads and drainages could have helped in reducing this.
The hazards of this event are:
1. Electrocution
2. Water-borne diseases
3. Drowning
Yorùbá ronú oo, Naija please think and stop being unreasonable. We need to think of the consequences of having irresponsible governments and leaders. We always do mind our business but see where it has got us to. We don't hold these guys to account, we save our own money then go and build our own personal houses hoping to be our own government. . . Ko le werk rara!

Celebrities › Re: CoolFM Confirms The Sack Of Daddy Freeze [PICS] by ROCE: 9:55am On Aug 28, 2016 |
oluwabishop: Look at it from the business perspective of both brands. Basketmouth owns himself and can choose to speak anyhow on stage, some fans may not approve and he may apologise and move on with his entertainment. But freeze is an employee of cool FM, and they're regular organisers and promoters of entertainment shows. Basketmouth is one of their valuable business prospects and they won't like any sour relationship with him which is just what Freeze is instigating. Let's just say that Freeze is hampering future smooth transaction of business with Basketmouth and his colleagues in his circle of interest and Cool FM acted in solidarity with their business prospect. You mistake Freeze as a bloody employee and Basket mouth as an employer. When it comes to business, Freeze has more access to sponsors than Basket. OAPs have flexible time that makes them do other things - moreover, they have a following that makes sponsors court them. Didn't Dan Foster take his xmas carnival to Inspiration Fm? Didn't Late Chaz B take his show out of Inspiration Fm? My guy, forget o. If Adenuga was Amin's friend and he heard about this kwanta, what do you think will have happened. Freeze has always been naughty and childish, yet sponsors still came to Cool fm. It was Basket that had more chances of hampering his own future business relationships if he said something controversial. For guys in the media, it is always easy for them to change careers or even mix careers together. For Freeze, I advise him to be more mature in his talks and do less boasting. I have a feeling the next station he goes to will even change some of that because his audience will change. Except maybe he goes to one of these entertainment stations. I never knew Basket Mouth threw jabs at his relationship because I had always wondered why he kept referring to Basket Mouth on his shows. The guy must have been really pained. EVERYONE has different tolerance levels and Basket mouth should have just apologised IMO. |

sabichele: Moreover, they invited him and left him to wait at the reception.....that could be on purpose and there could be a strong motive for that; they might even be observing him while he was waiting to see his reactions. You probably don't know the circumstances why an employer will put a position vacant ? Someone might be in that position before the position became vacant. That person might be very good and they might need similar or better attributes in the next person; perhaps otherwise, and they will require a better replacement as a correction.
When i said he should be patient, it is rubbish, sir! IMO, these are just excuses because the young man has little or no experience. Any SERIOUS organisation will stick to the time provided - in fact, your coming late will have an effect. There's something called scheduling and respect for time. If you want to play this patience game, I will also tell you of a guy who left the place 30 minutes later and it was the company that begged him later on using his own schedule! Let's not gloss incompetence in this typical Naija maybe games abeg. Coming all the way from Osun is no joke abeg, especially for a job that he may eventually not get. Where does he have to stay? How does he go back home? They were well aware of his address before any patience test - why didn't they just conduct a distance test instead "oh, sorry i forgot to call you" is enough evidence to nail this case. The OP was even observant enough to notice that his interviewers were absent. This was pure incompetence on the part of the person who sent him a mail. Sefini |

How often do you get people fired here? We are firing every time. My first daughter fires more than my younger daughter but now I am surprised my younger daughter whom we said she does not fire before coming here now fires more than others. Like our internet company, we have asked them to fix the internet link because we have to link from the headquarters to Kano because we are launching Cool and Wazobia FM in Kano. Talking about Wazobia, it would be a piece of cake. We have over one million Igbo there. We have half a million Yoruba there. So, all the people there speak four languages, English, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo. We have the real Wazobia man there. We want the internet linked so we can feed them with all the programmes, music and schedules. So, the guys have to do it. When you are stressed you can do anything. When you are under pressure, any simple thing can hurt you. And in family, it hurts most. There is no tolerance because the more I know you, the more I will tell you the way I want things’ done. That is the problem. We are natural. http://encomium.ng/aim-group-boss-amin-mousalli-reveals-how-he-started-wazobia-fm-with-his-cleaners/Amin Mousalli |
