Have you guys seen the size of Kwara on map? It is almost the size of the entire SE . . . And yet they are proud of N3.2b quarterly IGR.

Kwara state landmass is much bigger than the entire SE region, but has just about 10% of the SE population. If her resources are well harnessed she should be generating no less than N10 - 15-billion monthly in IGR.

You guys are spot on. The key thing is that the funds not be diverted to frivolous and unfruitful pursuit (e.g paying salaries) but rather infrastructure and economic growth/expansions. Like modath said, the likes of Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, are richer than a lot of countries' economies put together but they couldn't have attained such heights without a combo of venture capital, borrowing and debt-financing -- of course they've spent the money judiciously, hence their continued growth.

There is a reason why Onitsha, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Warri ports are not in operation or fully functional as Lagos ports despite SE and SS/energy companies accounting for nearly 70% of all imports. Yinmu. The OP added the previous year's Ebonyi 11-billion to arrive at that figure for the SE yet the SW still tops your region by almost 10-billion. Even if we're to add an extra 5-billion to the official Ebonyi numbers (which it it is highly unlikely that Ebonyi would attain), SW still tops y'all minus Lagos.

this is getting hilarious for you to have said other states should copy lagos, you could have at least verified if other states like akwa ibom ,enugu even Abuja were building better roads than Lagos state, Lagos roads are at best not the best in Nigeria, the badagry road project has been there since fashola days and it is speculation.
Lagos does not yet posses the road infrastructure found in Abuja or the quality of akwa ibom, sky scrapers popping up in the city is no big deal as anambra just completed some and have signed a deal to have others built.
The eko Atlantic City is fast becoming a little bit of a mirage but time will tell.
The only sector where legs is outdoing other states is in the economy sector as a result of the useless policy of the federal government which cited everything in a city at the expense of other cities and even at that if a state like anambra had a third of the federal government investments in Lagos anambra would have surpassed Lagos economy.
