Adefemi signed for Xanthi last summer and made 24 appearances for the club, scoring twice. He has also played three times for Nigeria. |

Mama pee's first comment was so arrogant that it has hate tone in it. I mean she was like "who da hell is she?" and then saying that wasn't her in the picture. So much hatred for someone you can't touch even if she was standing 2 inches from you and she doesn't even know some egotistical slowpoke exist in cyberspace. If you didn't know her, instead of ask politely who she is, you were arrogant and silly about it as if not knowing her makes you cool or something . She watches TV and post of men she sees on TV here makes me wonder which music channel doesn't play Sade's songs. ![]() Ignoramus Mama piss |
(CNN) -- In a tightly controlled televised statement, golfer Tiger Woods apologized Friday for his "irresponsible and selfish" behavior. "I know I have bitterly disappointed all of you," said the golfer, dressed in a blue button-down shirt and a blazer. "For all that I have done, I am so sorry. , "I had affairs, I cheated. What I did was not acceptable, and I am the only person to blame." It was his first public appearance since his November car crash outside his home near Orlando, Florida -- the beginning of what would become an torrent of bad news for the golfer. The 11 a.m. ET event, at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, was carefully managed, with a small hand-picked crowd as an audience. Although some members of the media were invited to listen to Woods' remarks, they were not allowed to ask questions. The large majority of reporters and media were housed at least a half a mile away, where they watched the event on television. Woods' mother attended, although his wife, Elin Nordegren, did not. The golfer's statement came amid the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Accenture is among the companies that ended its relationship with the 34-year-old superstar. Accenture spokesman Fred Hawrysh said Thursday that the company did not think Woods' statement would be a distraction to the tournament, which began Wednesday in Dove Mountain, Arizona. Friday's session will begin well after Woods' remarks. Blog: No apologies Tiger, just be real Woods -- who has won the event three times, according to GolfWeek Magazine -- has taken an indefinite break from his professional golfing career. Video: Tiger: 'I have let you down' Video: Tiger's hard comeback Woods' domination of golf RELATED TOPICS Tiger Woods Golf Elin Nordegren "I have tremendous confidence in the golf media covering the tournament," Hawrysh said, explaining why he thought the statement wouldn't take away from the golfing event. Some golfers didn't agree, however. "It's selfish," Ernie Els told GolfWeek. "You can write that. I feel sorry for the sponsor. Mondays are a good day to make statements, not Friday. This takes a lot away from the golf tournament." The highly managed conditions of the statement also prompted the Golf Writers Association of America -- which was invited to have three members present and then later negotiated to have six -- to boycott the event. The association's president, Vartan Kupelian, said the group was still covering the event, but was simply not present in the room. "As long as we're not going to have the ability to ask questions, as long as we're just going to be standing there like props, there's no point of us being in the room," he told CNN. Former sportscaster Pat O'Brien criticized the way Woods seemed to be controlling the news conference. "He might as well have done this on YouTube," O'Brien said Thursday on CNN's "Larry King Live." "But I do think that he's got to subject himself to some sort of question-and-answer at some point, otherwise people are just going to -- it's already a disaster." "If you listened to sports talk radio today, he's just getting ripped to shreds," O'Brien added. Tiger's agent said the golfer feels many of the issues he is dealing with are private but he still owes his fans an explanation. "While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him. He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that's what he's going to discuss," Steinberg said. |

This Guy used to be very vociverous at THISDAY newspapers, but he has been very quite of late - thought he was supposed to be the mouthpiece of the offshore president. Not a single word from him - Its quite Alarming. Anybody knows where he is ? |

The Nation - http://thenationonlineng.net/web Yar’Adua picks FirstBank MD Sanusi for CBN boss http://thenationonlineng.net/web/articles/5268/1/YarAdua-picks-FirstBank-MD-Sanusi-for-CBN-boss/Page1.html Yusuf Alli By Yusuf Alli Published on 1/06/2009 The controversy over the appointment of a new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was laid to rest at the weekend, with the clearance of the Group Managing Director of First Bank Plc, Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, by the State Security Service (SSS). It was also learnt from a Presidency source that Sanusi’s choice would be conveyed to the Senate today for screening. The SSS cleared Sanusi after a two-week intense check. The source, who spoke in confidence with our correspondent last night, said: "Sanusi has been cleared as the next CBN governor and Mr. President is sticking to him as his choice for the job. "What has been delaying the announcement of the new governor and notification of the National Assembly was the check by the SSS." President Umaru Yar’Adua, it was said in many circles, was under pressure not to pick Sanusi. But, the source said: "It is incorrect to say that the President had been under pressure and could not make up his mind on Sanusi. Right from the outset, the President wanted a risk expert to take over the CBN in the light of the global economic meltdown and he saw one in Sanusi. "Also, the President does not want a repeat of the recent crisis in the capital market in Nigerian banks. Sanusi has a duty to ensure that banks do not cook up their books under whatever guise. "Mr. President likes due process and he does not want any tardiness in the clearance process. So, he took his time to get adequate briefing from the SSS." On Federal Character, which was raised by some observers, including House of Representatives member Hon Dipo Dijo, the source said: "Sanusi’s appointment is simply on merit. The President has been fair to all ethnic groups and if there is any complaint, he knows how to ensure equilibrium." Melaye, who is the chairman of the House Committee on Information and National Orientation, said Sanusi’s appointment would confer undue advantage on Kano, his hone-state where Finance Minister Dr Mansur Muktar and his National Planning counterpart, Dr Shamsudeen Usman, are from. But, going by the latest development, competence may have carried the day. Asked if the President had informed the National Assembly, the source added: "The Senate will receive a letter from the President on Monday (today). "We are hopeful that the screening of Sanusi should start as from Tuesday or Wednesday." "Following the amendment to CBN Act in 2007, Sections 8, 10 and 11 provide that the appointment of the CBN governor, deputy Governors and non-executive Directors should now be subjected to the confirmation by the Senate." The President had picked Sanusi out of the seven contenders for the post. Those on the initial shopping list, apart from Sanusi, were the outgoing CBN Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; the Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Alhaji Tanimu Yakubu Kurfi; National Planning Minister Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman; Dr. Muktar; a former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; and the Minister of State for Finance, Chief Remi Babalola. In the interim, Mr Tunde Lemo is likely to take over the mantle of leadership at the CBN in an acting capacity, pending when the Senate approves Sanusi’s appointment. An online magazine, Economic Confidential, yesterday revealed that according to its investigation, the Deputy Governor, Financial Sector Surveillance, Lemo, may take over on the premise of seniority among the deputy governors in the bank. According to the report, the onus would have lain on the desk of another senior Deputy Governor, Mr. Ernest Ebi, in charge of Corporate Services but he would be due for retirement on June 6. |
I was on vacation in the uk some years back, stayed with a friend who decided to take me out with some white folks. At one of the restaurants we visited, i asked for chapman and the waitress was looking at me, not knowing what i meant, i was really suprised and turned to one of the white folks who also did not know what chapman is. It was when i got back to 9ja nad was telling one of my friends that i was told that the drink was actually concocted in Nigeria. I felt really proud, cause the drink is so fresh and different from our locally made drinks here in nigeria. |

My dear sis, i suggest u hold on to u'r bank job, if u get something gd in the oil/gas industry then u can move. Maersk is just not worth it except for MISE. Lots of us had option of moving their last yr after our company was taken over by AP MOLLER, but after considering a lot of factors we just collected our entitlement and ran. Anyway try speaking to some insiders like OMO MOLLER and u'll see wat i mean. Don't want u to start looking for another job after 6 months. |
