Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has finally broken his silence on the long-standing controversy surrounding his alleged third-term ambition.

The former President made the disclosure in an interview on News Central which aired on Thursday.

In the interview, Obasanjo denied ever nursing such ambitions, contrary to claims by his former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and ex-Senate President Ken Nnamani.

Obasanjo stated that if he had wanted a third term, he would have gotten it. He attributed the rumours to some governors who were secretly working towards extending their own terms in office. These governors believed that if Obasanjo secured a third term, they would also benefit from an extended tenure.

His words: “If I had wanted a third term, I would have gotten it. I didn’t want a third term. I know some governors working for this, believing that if I, as president, got a third, they would also get it.”

Obasanjo revealed that getting debt relief for Nigeria was a far more challenging task than securing a third term. He proudly noted that his administration successfully obtained debt relief for the country, a feat that required diplomatic efforts with countries like France, England, Japan, and the United States.

Atiku Abubakar and Ken Nnamani have both claimed to have played instrumental roles in toppling Obasanjo’s alleged third-term bid.

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, Atiku claimed that his connections within the National Assembly enabled him to block Obasanjo’s third-term agenda.

Obasanjo and Atiku served as Nigeria’s president and vice president from 1999 to 2007. However, their relationship went sour when Obasanjo chose not to support Atiku as his successor.

Meanwhile, Nnamani, stated that he had to give up his senatorial ambition to ensure Obasanjo’s third-term bid was defeated. He alleged that lawmakers were offered promises and cash incentives, but he remained committed to preventing the agenda, which ultimately led to his failure to secure re-election in 2007.

Everyone who has ever been born and lived on this earth, right from Adam must leave this world (die physically) because of the consequences of sin- Romans 6:23.

The spiritual body of man is supposed to go back to God after dropping the physical body (The Flesh), but not all souls vcan be qualified to enter God's kingdom because of Sin starting from Adam because God is full of holiness, and cannot stand sin- Hebrews 12:14. Sin made man fall short of seeing God's glory - Romans 3:23.


Hence, any soul full of Sin when it leaves the body goes to where the author of Sin is. The kingdom of Sin, which is Hell Fire as its temporary abode before the final judgement, however if a soul is able to conquer Sin, that soul goes back to be with God in paradise until the last day of judgment.

Now, the good news is we have someone who was able to conquer sin, and this same person made it possible for other souls to conquer sin, and become overcomes like him.

This person is Jesus Christ.

Why not accept him as your Lord and Personal Saviour to save you from the wrath of God poured upon a wicked world contaminated by the Devil and His angels.

Why not accept him while there is still time. Tomorrow might be too late. Now is the time of Salvation. Don't allow the Flesh make your soul go astray. The Flesh is built for this world, but the soul isn't built for it. The holy spirit will quicken your soul to overcome the Flesh.

Please accept Jesus now. Visit any church and join them. Buy a bible. And if you don't know a church to join

Come and Join the Lords Chosen Church and start growing in Jesus Christ from there.

You are a Sunday Sunday bench warmer in the church and not a christian yet. A true christian will not come online to tarnish the image of the body of Christ he used His blood to purchase online because of public like and share. A true christian that has personal encounter with Christ and read his Bible regularly will know that immortality, corruption and sin will continue to grow according to the prophecy of Jesus towards end time that sins shall multiply and the love of many for Christ will grow cold. Only those that endure till the end shall be saved. Churches are only trying to be more to reduce impact of immorality in the world.

How will population and sin be increasing in the world , but you don't want churches to increase? If all those born again christians go back to their bad past immoral life style, do you think you can survive 20 minutes in this wicked world without being harmed ? Not possible! Churches are not enough, we need more nchurches. May Jesus have mercy on you to have true personal encounter with Christ and help you overcome the end time lukewarmness

Look at the list below to see that even 40 years later, the very same set of reforms are needed in Nigeria even today.

Also note, Obasanjo successfully implemented the list before during the last 4 years of his time in office and every Nigerian you ask would tell yo that they enjoyed that period. So, if anyone tells you these reforms are the reason why you are suffering today, that person is lying to you.
