Appreciation to all the wonderful ladies and gents on this thread who have contributed in one way or the other in making this sometimes frustrating and difficult process, worthwhile.

My wife's application has been approved!!!
Timeline is below:
- Upfront Medical: June 1st 2018
- Online Application submitted on 4th of June 2018 (2years PGD)
- Biometrics request: 11th June 2018
- Biometrics done in VFS Lagos: 12th June 2018
- Medical passed & eligibility review commenced: 12th Aug 2018
- Application approved/passport request: today, 14th Aug 2018
- School resumes: 5th Sept 2018

Documents submitted:
- All applicant's completed CIC forms
- University Acceptance letter with 1st semester tuition fee confirmation of over $9k CAD,
- Applicant's Canada Bank Account Statement with over $10k CAD living expense
- Applicant's Educational certs, University Transcripts, plus NYSC cert and professional membership certs
- Applicant's Employment letter, promotion letter, Study leave approval letter, Company ID Badge, 6months payslips, Salary account SOA,
- Travel history (several trips in the last 12 years to the US, UK, Dubai, Canada, France and the Netherlands)

- Sponsor: Myself
- Sponsors docs submitted: Employment letter, Professional Membership, Data page, Travel history (several trips in the last 16 years to US, UK, Dubai, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands)
- Sponsors Financials: SOA of my Joint Account with wife, Salary Account SOA, my Resume (CV), Pension Fund Account summary, CSCS Statement of stockholding, Landed Properties survey plans and deeds of assignments showing joint ownership by both myself and wife (in Lagos, Abuja, Mowe-Ogun state and PH city)
- Treasury Bills Certificate of my Joint Account with wife

Supporting docs
- Letter of sponsorship signed by me with details of how i intend to support applicant's education
- Letter of Application for study permit addressed to CAD High commission,
- Detailed SOP showing that PGD is same course as both the Undergrad course, as well as the current employment role
- Detailed letter of Explanation (LOE) with itemized list/breakdown of all the documents being submitted
- Children's birth certificates and Intl passport data page
- Applicant's Resume, Awards received, Volunteer work done in the past, Marriage Cert and Newspaper Change of Name

PLUS ENOUGH PRAYERS, FASTING AND MORE PRAYERS.

N.B: Study gap was over 11 years, but applicant's SOP was very detailed and Resume showed what she was engaged in throughout all the gap years. Applicant's personal SOA had less than N200k naira at time of submission.

Finally, to all the TRV hopefuls, just keep on praying and commit all to the Almighty God, because yours is just close by.

Like I promised, here is my testimony. Apologies for the long post.
Visa approved, passport arrived today! Want to say a very big thank you for every contributor here. Although I applied too late, considering my school resumed Monday 8th Jan., God surprised me by doing it in His on way! He says, people say it takes up to 20 weeks right?, I will make yours 5 weeks! THANK YOU ALL.

Application details:
Submitted: November 29th, 2017
Biometrics: December 4th, 2017
Upfront Medical: November 20th, 2017
Medical passed: December 29th, 2017
Approved: January 3rd, 2018 (exactly 5 weeks after) followed by passport request
Passport submitted via UPS next day, Jan. 4th.
Passport with TRV returned January 15th, 2018.

• Personal Statement of Account from my UK Lloyds Bank (£418) – very small amount, but it adds value to the application.

4. VOLUNTARY ROLE AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT ACHIEVEMENTS (submitted to show that apart from studying, there are other things I have passion for)
• Reference letter from Newcastle City Council, UK (as part of my London2012 Olympic Games Newcastle Ambassador Role)
• Reference letter from North of Tyne NHS’ Patients Advice and Liaison Services (PALS) as part of my voluntary role
• Thank You letter from UK Prime Minister (Then David Cameron) for taking part in London2012 Olympic Games as a Newcastle Ambassador
• Diploma Certificate in web design
• Certificate of Completion in HTML fundamentals
• Certificate of Completion in PHP fundamentals
• Certificate of Diligence and Faithfulness from my church

5. SCHOOL DOCUMENTS
• University Letter of Admission
• Funding letter (25k CAD, tuition to be remitted from research grant of supervisor)

6. SPONSOR’S DOCUMENTS (Sponsor is my father)
• Letter of Sponsorship
• Affidavit of Sponsorship
• Sponsor’s Statement of Account (900k – So only used like N1.1M, including my £418 to apply. However little your resources may be, just apply and put your trust and confidence in God! There is no harm in trying.)
• Employment, letter of promotion and statutory retirement letter (to confirm he’s still being paid his pension), and data page of international passport of my father
• Evidence of the landed properties owned by my father
