My wife recently applied for a marriage settlement visa and I've sent all the required documentation to Sheffield. I'd like to send some additional documentation to support the application just to be on the safe side but as they've received the documentation already sent, am I allowed to send more documentation without them requesting it? Any advise from those in the know would be very much appreciated. I don't think sending document(s) without them requesting is right.. Just pray and hope the ones you've already sent will do the work and if they need more, they'd surely contact you. All the best!!! |

deebaby05: Amen ooo Submitted online application for myself and 3 kids and did biometrics in August. Documents received in Sheffield September 8th.(2days sallah delayed) Hubby refused us paying for priority cos the cost was over 1M and the guarantee of exactly 1 month decision is not there. Hubby and last baby are citizens and with my savings and hubbys salary, we exceeded the financial requirement.
Every other docs required was submitted, na God hands e dey now and I know He won't fail. We 've been apart for too long. Na small time e remain, we will smile pretty soon! |

Filled my form on the 2nd of July, did biometrics on the 12th at the VI centre, application received in Sheffield on the 15th, decision made today 22nd, tho don't know what's in there but I'm very optimistic... Will give my testimony soon! Special thanks to the guru's in the house, esp @tunderule2016 for the time taken in attending to my numerous questions! |

tunderule2016: I am glad to hear you have found one hospital. Get all the necessary documents and most importantly show u have ties in Nigeria, such as bank statement, employment letter, shares or assets, properties, if married show marriage certificate. Also, follow the link i sent to u ..
Apply for a standard visa.... (6 months) if your treatment will be more than 6 months , you can apply for extensions. some important points
Private Medical Treatment You must provide a letter from your doctor or consultant in the UK, which includes: details of the condition requiring treatment or consultation estimated costs and likely duration of treatment details of where treatment or consultation will take place if you are applying for an 11 month visa and are from a country listed in Appendix T part 1 of the Immigration Rules you must provide a valid medical certificate issued by a medical practitioner listed in Part 2 of Appendix T
Please also look through this link... it will be of help for your standard visa.... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-v-visitor-rules
In my personal opinion i will say you should pay the 300 pounds before u apply. You do not need anyone anymore.. i only suggested you use a family to contact them because you said they have not responded to you.
If you decide to pay , then make sure u include payment confirmation. Good luck pls check and attend to my mail, thank u |

If we answer all these questions then what will you be paying the agent for?
According to what I was told, the agent will only fill the forms online and use his card to pay the fees, that's what prompted me to ask those questions, just trying to be on a safer side. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ronvlaar: 2:40pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
Hello guys, Was here to ask few questions sometime ago and I really appreciate the swift response I got that day.
Now the letter of invitation from my big sis in the UK is ready and I'll be getting it during the coming week. I'll be using a reliable agent (recommended by my sis) for the online thing and to fix a date for me to visit the embassy.
My questions now: I'm working here in Nigeria and also a Part time MSc student and I plan to visit and spend just 14days but my salary here isn't that much (tho my big sis will apparently be taking care of all my expenses there, accommodation, feeding, shopping n all). Is it possible I use someone else's (Nigerian based) statement of account as my sponsor to the UK as mine won't meet up?? Or can my big sis over there send her statement of account indicating she'd be responsible for everything??
Should I get a letter from my school in addition to my work place??
Pls I need to know so I'll know what to do before I visit the embassy, thanks in anticipation. |

justwise: 1. Get your documents (been listed here far too many times) and apply for visa
2. The embassy hardly call for an interview for visiting visa Thanks @justwise, I'll check previous pages for the documents needed. |

Uhmmm... I really dunno where n how to start. I've actually flipped through some of the pages in this section and I must say u guys are doing a nice job.
Ok, I work and sch (MSC) here in Nigeria but my gf stays in the UK with her fam, we're planning for me to come and spend 2weeks (of course she'd take care of accommodation, feeding, shopping n the likes)
Now my questions are: What is expected of me to do here to make this happen? What likely questions will be asked at d embassy? Tho I think I'll still have more questions to ask...
I'm trusting on u guys to provide me with adequate answers. Thanks. |
