Racoon:
There is also human rights abuses in the US but they have strong institutions that can contain the excesses of these lawless leaders unlike the Nigerian side of the world. President Biden like other Obama, may tolerate the activities of terrorist govt.
OH SHUT IT......... There are countless white policemen walking FREE on the streets of America today after gunning down innocent blacks in cold blood. So much for your ''strong institutions in America''.

Why can't those ''strong institutions'' disarm that population and stop kids from buying machine guns and opening fire on their classmates in mass shootings?

In America there is one law for rich white men with expensive lawyers and another law for everyone else. Why can't their ''strong institutions'' make everyone equal before the law?

The recent capitol riots, where thousands of angry whites stormed the national assembly leading to 5 deaths, if those were black protesters, they would have been attacked by the army and hundreds shot dead.

So spare us this stupid romanticisation of America, Mr oyinbo worshiper.

The success of INNOSON is a direct response and a direct slap in the face to all those negativists and pessimists who say there is no future in Nigeria. That Nigeria is a 'failed state'.

This is a man who started by selling spare parts in the market.

He had no connections, and knew nobody in government or in Abuja.

All he had was his self-belief, and his belief in the Federal Republic of NIGERIA.

Today he owns the biggest black-owned vehicle manufacturing company on the face of the Earth.

Today, his fame is spreading across Africa and the world like a bushfire in the harmattan.

Nigeria is the land of opportunity.

Nigeria is the Giant of Africa.

If you believe in Nigeria, you will succeed in Nigeria, and YOU could be the next INNOSON.

Just be watching news on television or read on newspapers especially political news when the are talking about federal agency, look at the name of the head of the government agency, u will be surprised that out of 10 only one may not bear Northern name. These people had taken over everywhere.
When it is your turn to rule, appoint 90% southerners, who will stop you?

Complainant in chief. Don't go and look for something useful to do with your life.

As if even the so-called southerners that are appointed to office give a shiit about you and your life.

Even if they appoint someone from your village, he will still look out for himself and his immediate family, not you.

At most you will eat free rice in his house at christmas.

So wetin be your own....?

When I tell some of my friends and business associates in Africa and the Caribbean that we have several privately-owned airlines in Nigeria, they're amazed.

Then they ask if they're owned by whites, and I say Nope! Pure black Nigerians.

They're stunned! It's virtually unheard of in other black countries for one man to own an airline.

For them, it's either the govt sets up an airline, or they do without.

Nigeria is a great country. Real Giant of Africa.

let the useless government build factories and hand them over to private businesses, then set up a program that will force final year professional graduates such as engineers to provide a workable business plan and application for loan from CBN,we won't be needing prisons if this is done
So America that has the highest prison population on earth, what will you say about them?

Do you realise there are over 2 MILLION Americans in prison right now?

Is it because they lack factories?

you clearly missed it , if the economy was well run and the citizenry were clearly engaged in economic activities then there would be less need for investing in prisons, the government can as well build more cemeteries in APC states to create room for the more death sentences
So America that has the highest prison population on earth, what will you say about them?

Here is a list of nations with the highest prison populations. Nigeria didn't even make the list.

I blame Igbo parents for this.

They've lost their moral values.

For them, money is everything.

Their children becoming rich is EVERYTHING.

If their children are not rich they mock them, call them failures, and compare them with such and such person's son who has already built ten mansions.

Many of them do not warn their kids against engaging in criminal activity.

For them, whatever you are doing to make money is your 'work'.

IGBO PARENTS ARE TO BLAME.

Shut up your stupid mouth. Naturally white people that worship a person they claim was born by a virgin impregnated by a ghost, with the person flying back up into heaven after waking up from the dead in 3 days, what madness is greater than that one?

Or the story they told you of a man who was swallowed by a shark and lived inside the shark's belly for 40 days before coming out alive, yet your dumb head believes that too.

Then they told you a man walked on top of a sea without sinking, after multiplying 3 fish to 500 fish, and your dull head accepted that one too.

Then they told you a man and his people were fleeing from an army, and got to a sea, whereby the man dipped his walking stick in the water, and the sea divided itself into two, allowing them to cross, and your mumu head accepted that one too.

And then he threatened you that if you don't believe all these stories, you will burn in a fire that has no end, for 100 trillion years plus, and yet your olodo head accepted that one too.

Brainwashed dunce. Oyinbo has made his own madness seem natural to you.

Mr 'brown people'.

The likelihood of that 5 legged cow having some spiritual significance is one million times higher than all those stupid children's fairytales oyinbo drummed into your colonised head.

If they show you a picture of an overcrowded Nigerian prison, you would shout and criticise the govt.

The government builds more prisons to lessen the burden on the current ones, you shout and criticise the government.

PoliticsRe: Do We Actually Have A Plan To Eliminate Open Gutters In Nigeria? by Rossintii(op): 2:17pm On Jan 17, 2021
privaldo:
I disagree with the bolded, if there's one country in the world that tolerates bad leadership a lot it is Nigeria. Most of the leaders don't give a damn about what goes on in the country because they know the people can't do them anything.

On the issue of building roads with open gutters, I think at Nigeria's level it is the best because it can be easily maintained by the people when it gets bad even though it's disgusting.
We all know the situation in this country, a governor may build a closed gutter system and when he leaves office the new governor probably of another political party will not maintain it because it wasn't his project. So, the work will be left for the citizens to do by themselves.
I disagree with everything you've said here, as it is filled with gross negative generalisation, pessimism, and prejudice.

You cannot as a leader say "I am going to build substandard infrastructure because I 'know' the next administration will not maintain it if I build it properly".

It is not your job to preempt negative outcomes without evidence.

privaldo:
I thought you knew people in power, why don't you discuss the issue with them? what will the opinion of a common Nigeria do in solving the issue?
Public opinion drives development in Nigeria more than you think. A lot of the state governors are building good infrastructure now because their people simply will not tolerate a non-performing governor.

I think the leaders get away with building roads without covered drains and sidewalks because the PEOPLE do not demand it or see it as essential.

Most Nigerians don't even realise there's something wrong with such a way of building roads. For them, simply tarring the roads and building an open gutter on each side is perfect. They don't know any better.

After sinking Trillions of dollars and losing 2.500 soldiers in Afghanistan, the US us negotiating with the same Taliban terrorists the fought with wealth, blood and tears for over a decade, they are packing up to go home with the Taliban likely in charge of Afghanistan.

Same in Iraq, over 7,000 US military men died in Iraq and Afghanistan, they are confined to the green zone in Iraq.

Fighting state actors face to face is different from fighting not state actors like terrorists, they don't do face to face battle with fighter jets, tanks, warships or special forces, they do guerilla warfare, they exploit soft targets when you are not looking.

It doesn't matter how powerful or rich you are, you can not defeat or eliminate terrorists, your best bet is to curtail and confine their activities.

BH used to set off bombs everyday, the send out suicide bombers everyday to blow up markets and even mosques, the used to set off bombs even in Abuja, they took control of nearly the whole of Borno state with their flags flying everywhere, but you don't see all that anymore, they just exploit soft targets and play hide and seek.

Terrorists are not at your doorsteps because our brave men and women are sacrificing their lives to make sure they don't show up at your door.

That's not even my concern, mine is that Nigerians have turned such open drainage systems into a refuse dump, even the ones that are closed, they still find ways to open them and turn it into a dustbin. It's really pathetic, when the rain comes, they blame the government.
If it is built properly, you can never open it. The picture at the top of this thread, how do you open the underground drainage there? It's impossible.

Please economically speaking Nigeria is an extremely poor country. I just pity for anyone thinking otherwise. We have abundance resources that if well utilised could have lifted the country from poverty but resources does not equate to wealth. You are talking of kogi having Uranium. Every state have one abundance raw material or the other but having it is not wealth, it is what you use it for. You are complaining that leaders are stealing money, have you taken out time to consider where those monies being stolen recently comes from? The recent Dasuki loot we are talking about was actually borrowed, approved by the senate. Paying civil servant is a problem to the Nigeria govt. The money generated from crude oil alone cannot pay for Nigeria's expense.

If you say Nigeria is rich, quantify it in terms of money. All the north African countries budget is higher than ours, their expenses is higher than ours, their income is also higher than ours. Or do you think Nigeria is the only country with resources in Africa?
You do have a point.

Nigeria's annual budget is 35 billion dollars for 206 million people.

That actually makes us a poor country, to be honest.

South Africa's annual budget is 125 billion dollars, for 60 million people.

The USA's annual budget is 7.6 trillion dollars, for 300 million people.

UK, France, and Germany each have an annual budget of just under 2 trillion dollars each.

We need to diversify our economy further, and be more efficient at tax collection.
