Good question, now same way we have humans and the human skeleton, we also have animal with their various skeletal frames and how they are made up, same way we have material (wood, metal, paper, cloth) and every one of them have various degrees and decay composition period, we are made up differently and decompose differently.

bury a lizard and it would turn to dust in a week, same for paper, human, animal, dinosaurs, different bone structures and substances, different composition periods.
