It’s time to make my predictions for the 2014-15 Premier League season. I’m amazed by how much the Men in Blazers, the Manchester Evening News, and NBC’s two Robbies, Earle and Mustoe, have the same exact predictions as myself. I’m picking Chelsea to be champions, as did many of these pundits, and Manchester United to get back into the Champions League, with a 3rd place finish.
I think Man United will again regain the upper hand in their rivalry with Liverpool, as I think the Reds will finish just outside the CL.

The World Health Organization
today announced that clinical
trials of a preventative vaccine
for the Ebola virus made by
British pharma company
GlaxoSmithKline may begin next month and made
available by 2015.
According to AFP, Jean-Marie
Okwo Bele, the WHO’s head of
vaccines and immunisation,
said this; adding that he was
optimistic about making the
vaccine commercially available.
“We are targeting September for the start of clinical trials, first in the United States and certainly in African countries, since that’s where we have the cases. We think that if we start in September, we could already have results by the end of the year. And since this is an emergency, we can put emergency procedures in place … so that we can have a vaccine available by 2015.”
There is currently no available
cure or vaccine for Ebola, a
virus that causes severe fever
and, in the worst cases,
unstoppable bleeding. It has
claimed close to 1,000 lives in the latest epidemic to spread
across west Africa this year.

Ebola Virus: Stop Shaking Hands - Fashola



In a bid to stop the spread of the Ebola Virus in the country, Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has advised the traditional shaking of hands should be stopped.

He called for the measures after the meeting of state governors and health commissioners from various state of the Federation Federal Government officials & World Health Organization Representative in Nigeria with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on Wednesday.
“We have to drop our traditional behaviours like shaking of hands and nobody should be offended,” he stated while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting.
He also urged people to stop defecating and urinating in public, particularly at this time of the country’s health crisis.
He said, “This is not the time to make fast naira.
Next week will be defining for us, to know what cases have multiplied. This is not something you keep in religious house to pray. Infected persons are not patients you can move by taxis, if they need prayers now it can be done electronically.”
“We are now 99 per cent following the cases. We need to have a 100 per cent because if we have one infected person, it is a global risk not just Nigeria.”
Fashola maintained that health workers should be provided with advanced equipment to protect them in their first line of duties.
The WHO Representative in Nigeria Voiz, commended President Jonathan for calling the meeting of governors and commissioners of health towards fighting the disease.
Meanwhile Governor Fashola recently revealed that five Nigerians out of the ten people that tested positive to Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) are in stable condition
