We had earlier brought you a report that Toyin Aimakhu’s ex-lover, Seun Egbegbe was caught in computer village while escaping with stolen 7 iPhones. Embattled producer and socialite, Seun Egbeegbe has denied the theft.

He told the police that he was on his way to his car to pick money for the phones when the sales boy raised an alarm that he was bolting away.

He was apprehended by passersby and beaten. Thereafter, policemen from Area F in GRA Ikeja were alerted, and he was whisked away.

The shop owner is still insisting that Egbeegbe was running away, he claims that he was going to get money in his car.

The Ikeja police command has confirmed the alleged theft

“Yes, the command received the report. There are accusations and denials. The shop owner alleged that the said Seun came to his shop to buy phones, in the process he wanted to bolt away in a vehicle. While Seun said he wanted to pick money from his vehicle to balance the payment based on agreement with the sales boy. But that while he entered the vehicle, the boy screamed for help and he was attacked by some people around the vicinity. For his denial to add up, we would like to know

if he (Seun Egbegbe)specifically told the sales boy that he was getting money from his car?
Why he did not leave the phones in the store while he got the money.
If he had told the sales boy to accompany him to the car as he got the money.
If he showed the mob the money that he intended to pay with from his car.

Investment / FG Moves To Shut Down MMM As Reps Ask Security Agencies To Arrest ‘mmm’promoters by rowels: 9:50pm On Nov 09, 2016
The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated moves to shut down MMM operations in Nigeria.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Central Bank of Nigeria to immediately go after the promoters Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, otherwise known as ‘MMM’ in Nigeria.

Lawmakers strongly opposed the investment scheme, which lately gained popularity among Nigerians in the wake of the current economic recession in the country.

MMM promises 30 per cent return on investment for any money put into the scheme within 30 days

Lawmakers warned that the “trick” used by the operators was to attract as many Nigerians as possible to invest substantial amounts of money before the bubble would burst.

The House directed the EFCC, security agencies and the CBN to take urgent steps to halt the scheme before many Nigerians would become victims of the scam.

It also asked its Committees on Banking/Currency and Financial Crimes to investigate the activities of MMM Nigeria Scheme, “with a view to saving Nigerians participating in the scheme from you financial ruin.

The Chairman, House Committee on Telecommunications, Mr. Saheed Fijabi, had in a motion, drawn the attention of the House to the growing popularity of the scheme among Nigerians.

Religion / Critics Of High Fees Charged By Covenant University In Risk Of God’s Wrath – Pas by rowels: 7:05am On Nov 08, 2016
The Bishop of the Living Faith Church worldwide Dr David Oyedepo, has appealed to those criticising the high school fees charged by Covenant University to stop their criticism to avoid incurring the wrath of God.

Oyedepo, in a telecast to a pre-Shiloh 2016 Convention gathering of the church monitored via satellite in Jos on Saturday, said the critics were acting in ignorance and risked incurring the wrath of God.

He claimed that one of such critic smitten with a strange plague of chronic mouth odour over the act only received spiritual pardon following his confession and “my intervention before he was restored to dignity”.

According to Bishop Oyedepo Oyedepo, the issue of school fees paid by students of the university was a godly agenda to meet the demands of raising godly children in an environment conducive for learning.

He said such criticisms were products of ignorance as what students pay could not be compared with what obtained elsewhere that lacked facilities.

“The school fees has Gods approval and is in accordance with the quality of facilities provided by the university in meeting the educational needs of the nation,” he said .

According to him, the church in its pioneering role in pushing the frontiers of education with excellence had concluded plans to establish offshore universities. The cleric said a fully automated Bible press by the church had been completed and would be launched soon. Oyedepo, however, quoting from some verses of the Bible, which include Matthew 24:6-8, 1Peter 2:9, Joel 2:2 and Mal. 4:1, said the current economic meltdown was predicted but that committed Christians would be exempted.

In all his speech, Dr David Oyedepo failed to mention

Politics / How Muhammad Abu Ali, Others Could Have Escaped Boko Haram Attack by rowels: 6:52am On Nov 08, 2016
The recent Boko Haram ambush attach on Nigerian Soldiers which lift Lt Col Muhammad Abu Ali and other soldiers dead could have been prevented only if they had the right night equipment

how-muhammad-abu-ali-others-could-have-escaped-boko-haram-attack

According to Colonel Sani Usman , the Army spokesman .Ali and four other soldiers were killed late on Friday, November 4 by Boko Haram insurgents after a fierce battle,.

Cable has it that a senior military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that Ali was close to leaving Mallam Fatori ahead of an army raid on Sambisa forest.

He said the gallant soldier was not in the tank when Boko Haram ambushed them. “He was outside the tank; he was outside with his radio system. And because it was dark, nobody could exactly see the enemies who shot him.”

“The firing came from behind. When these people [Boko Haram] came, he went towards that direction to see what was happening. He was not in the tank.”

The senior military official also spoke about the death of other soldiers and that it could have been prevented if basic night equipment were available. “You know, night attacks are always difficult.” “If you’re going for night attacks, you need your night sight — your night vision goggle — so that you can identify your targets clearly. You know what it means to fight in the dark? Confusion. You don’t know who is who. “But I tell you what, there are only two night vision goggles to an entire battalion. In some cases, you will even find a battalion that has no single night vision goggle.” “Ali went to Mallam Fatori, and the while thing was successful, it was after the operation that this Boko Haram attack was launched,” the official continued.

Politics / Trouble As Senators And House Members Share N57.8 Billion Among Themselves by rowels: 11:15am On May 04, 2016
The report reaching us has it that the senators and the honourable members of the house have shared N57.8 billion among themselves, the Senators got N200 million each amounting to N21.8 billion while the honourable members of the house got N100 million amounting to N36 billion in the name of the dreaded fraudulent constituency projects This is happening when most Nigerians can not afford 2 meals per day, and the so called representatives can’t even pass the 2016 budget,

THE REPORT

The appetite for the members of NASS to collect billions of our common wealth without accountability is never an ending one, unless we the masses collectively say enough is enough and put an end to it ourselves! During a recent interview with the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA), Honourable Faruk Bala Muhammadu, who represents Bida/Gbako/Katcha constituency in Niger state revealed that the federal government has just released the sum of N100 million for each House of Representative member, and N200 million for each Senator, for the dreaded fraudulent constituency projects. This money is NOT part of the 2016 budget.

Now, there are 360 constituencies in Nigeria. This means N100,000,000*360 = N36 billion has quietly been paid to the “Honourables” without any publicity and hence knowledge of the masses. To the best of our knowledge, it is only Mr. Faruk Bala Muhammadu, who is true to his name and honourable enough to admit that he received this money and is appropriating it for rural electrification project in his constituency.

Jobs/Vacancies / Outcry As Nigerian Banks Set To Sack Thousands Of Staff by rowels: 8:18am On May 02, 2016
I was out with a friend of mine on Saturday who works with a bank here in Abuja. all of a sudden, he started lamenting and said he is no longer sure of his job .

When i asked why, he said that the bank he works with just passed a circular to the top management that they are sacking over 1,000 people and his fear now is he does not know if he will be affected

According to him, so many banks in Nigeria are set to sack thousands of their staff due to bad economy and negative effect of CBN policies on banks

One of the banks that have made it public to sack staff is first bank. this is as a result of a “very bad” 2015 earnings, which saw the bank’s profit slump by 82% to N15 billion.

The chief executive officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Adesola Adeduntan, while Speaking to Bloomberg in Lagos, said the bank expects to boost its return on equity (ROE) – a key measure of profitability – to between 11 percent and 14 percent in 2016 from 2015’s figure of 3 percent.

It will be noted that according to the International Monetary Fund Net profit fell to 15 billion naira ($76 million) from 84 billion naira in 2014, as impairments soared and Africa’s biggest economy slowed amid a crash in the price of crude, the biggest source of government revenue and export earnings. Growth decelerated to 2.8 percent in 2015, the lowest level since 1999, and may worsen to 2.3 percent this year,.

So many banks in Nigeria are suffering from this and some have started sacking their staff secretly .Have you noticed that when you go to some banking halls these day, you will only see one or two staff attending to over 50 people

We now imaging a bread winner of a family of 5, who has spent almost all his life working for a bank only for him to wake up one day and be told that his does not have a job any longer.

Coupled with the bad economy where the prices of everything has gone up by 70%, how is he and his family going to cope

The point is that, the banking sector is not the only one affected, so many companies are laying off staff, some will not sack you , but when you don't receive salary for 4 months, you will sack your self. it's clear to everybody that the economy is bad and we can't continue thinking the same old way we were thinking some years back if we want to have a happy tomorrow

As you are reading this, are you a staff of a company, do you think you are save. dont you think its time to set up a small business that can be bringing in something daily, weekly or even monthly.

If you don't know where to start, research around, ask a friend . There are so many opportunities out .....

Scores of protesting youths under the aegis of Occupy National Assembly, on Tuesday, besieged the premises of the federal parliament and demanded the immediate resignation of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The youths made up of various Civil Society Organisations and students, were also demanding that the federal lawmakers should immediately revisit the grey areas identified in the 2016 budget by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Apart from this, they asked 36 senators who had so far collected their own exotic jeeps to return them immediately or face the wrath of Nigerians.

The protesters marched from the Unity Fountain within the Central Area of the city to the National Assembly, a journey of about two kilometers and forced their way to the main gate, defiling all security network mounted by regular and riot police officers.

The youths forced the main gate closed thereby preventing staff, lawmakers and visitors from either entering or leaving the premises.

The protesters, armed with placards containing various inscriptions, vowed to seal off the federal parliament for the initial three days to see whether their demands would be met.

They also said they would resume a permanent protest that would paralyse all activities in the National Assembly until all their demands were fully met.

Politics / How China Scammed Nigeria While Buhari Was Looking by rowels: 8:37pm On Apr 24, 2016
Some Nigerians are jubilating over a $2b loan from China and the so nocknamed the Yuan trading deal. China wants to lend us 2 billion dollars, but they want to give us in Yuan and not the dollar itself.

I don’t blame Chinese leaders for trying to scam us, I blame our leaders for not being smart enough. What do you expect when you have political hacks negotiating on behalf of Nigeria against smart professionals from China? I was thinking Nigeria political leaders will do research about Chinese lobbyists in Washington and understand the interest they are protecting before believing in this Chinese version of Trojan horse called the Yuan Trading deal.
