PoliticsTrouble As Senators And House Members Share N57.8 Billion Among Themselves by rowels(op): 11:15am On May 04, 2016
The report reaching us has it that the senators and the honourable members of the house have shared N57.8 billion among themselves, the Senators got N200 million each amounting to N21.8 billion while the honourable members of the house got N100 million amounting to N36 billion in the name of the dreaded fraudulent constituency projects This is happening when most Nigerians can not afford 2 meals per day, and the so called representatives can’t even pass the 2016 budget,

THE REPORT

The appetite for the members of NASS to collect billions of our common wealth without accountability is never an ending one, unless we the masses collectively say enough is enough and put an end to it ourselves! During a recent interview with the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA), Honourable Faruk Bala Muhammadu, who represents Bida/Gbako/Katcha constituency in Niger state revealed that the federal government has just released the sum of N100 million for each House of Representative member, and N200 million for each Senator, for the dreaded fraudulent constituency projects. This money is NOT part of the 2016 budget.

Now, there are 360 constituencies in Nigeria. This means N100,000,000*360 = N36 billion has quietly been paid to the “Honourables” without any publicity and hence knowledge of the masses. To the best of our knowledge, it is only Mr. Faruk Bala Muhammadu, who is true to his name and honourable enough to admit that he received this money and is appropriating it for rural electrification project in his constituency.

Jobs/VacanciesOutcry As Nigerian Banks Set To Sack Thousands Of Staff by rowels(op): 8:18am On May 02, 2016
I was out with a friend of mine on Saturday who works with a bank here in Abuja. all of a sudden, he started lamenting and said he is no longer sure of his job .

When i asked why, he said that the bank he works with just passed a circular to the top management that they are sacking over 1,000 people and his fear now is he does not know if he will be affected

According to him, so many banks in Nigeria are set to sack thousands of their staff due to bad economy and negative effect of CBN policies on banks

One of the banks that have made it public to sack staff is first bank. this is as a result of a “very bad” 2015 earnings, which saw the bank’s profit slump by 82% to N15 billion.

The chief executive officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Adesola Adeduntan, while Speaking to Bloomberg in Lagos, said the bank expects to boost its return on equity (ROE) – a key measure of profitability – to between 11 percent and 14 percent in 2016 from 2015’s figure of 3 percent.

It will be noted that according to the International Monetary Fund Net profit fell to 15 billion naira ($76 million) from 84 billion naira in 2014, as impairments soared and Africa’s biggest economy slowed amid a crash in the price of crude, the biggest source of government revenue and export earnings. Growth decelerated to 2.8 percent in 2015, the lowest level since 1999, and may worsen to 2.3 percent this year,.

So many banks in Nigeria are suffering from this and some have started sacking their staff secretly .Have you noticed that when you go to some banking halls these day, you will only see one or two staff attending to over 50 people

We now imaging a bread winner of a family of 5, who has spent almost all his life working for a bank only for him to wake up one day and be told that his does not have a job any longer.

Coupled with the bad economy where the prices of everything has gone up by 70%, how is he and his family going to cope

The point is that, the banking sector is not the only one affected, so many companies are laying off staff, some will not sack you , but when you don't receive salary for 4 months, you will sack your self. it's clear to everybody that the economy is bad and we can't continue thinking the same old way we were thinking some years back if we want to have a happy tomorrow

As you are reading this, are you a staff of a company, do you think you are save. dont you think its time to set up a small business that can be bringing in something daily, weekly or even monthly.

If you don't know where to start, research around, ask a friend . There are so many opportunities out .....

Updates:
Scores of protesting youths under the aegis of Occupy National Assembly, on Tuesday, besieged the premises of the federal parliament and demanded the immediate resignation of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The youths made up of various Civil Society Organisations and students, were also demanding that the federal lawmakers should immediately revisit the grey areas identified in the 2016 budget by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Apart from this, they asked 36 senators who had so far collected their own exotic jeeps to return them immediately or face the wrath of Nigerians.

The protesters marched from the Unity Fountain within the Central Area of the city to the National Assembly, a journey of about two kilometers and forced their way to the main gate, defiling all security network mounted by regular and riot police officers.

The youths forced the main gate closed thereby preventing staff, lawmakers and visitors from either entering or leaving the premises.

The protesters, armed with placards containing various inscriptions, vowed to seal off the federal parliament for the initial three days to see whether their demands would be met.

They also said they would resume a permanent protest that would paralyse all activities in the National Assembly until all their demands were fully met.

PoliticsHow China Scammed Nigeria While Buhari Was Looking by rowels(op): 8:37pm On Apr 24, 2016
Some Nigerians are jubilating over a $2b loan from China and the so nocknamed the Yuan trading deal. China wants to lend us 2 billion dollars, but they want to give us in Yuan and not the dollar itself.

I don’t blame Chinese leaders for trying to scam us, I blame our leaders for not being smart enough. What do you expect when you have political hacks negotiating on behalf of Nigeria against smart professionals from China? I was thinking Nigeria political leaders will do research about Chinese lobbyists in Washington and understand the interest they are protecting before believing in this Chinese version of Trojan horse called the Yuan Trading deal.
