The recent Boko Haram ambush attach on Nigerian Soldiers which lift Lt Col Muhammad Abu Ali and other soldiers dead could have been prevented only if they had the right night equipment Details have emerged on how Lt Col Muhammad Abu Ali and other four soldiers were killed by Boko Haram terrorists and also how they could have prevented the attack. how-muhammad-abu-ali-others-could-have-escaped-boko-haram-attack According to Colonel Sani Usman , the Army spokesman .Ali and four other soldiers were killed late on Friday, November 4 by Boko Haram insurgents after a fierce battle,. Cable has it that a senior military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that Ali was close to leaving Mallam Fatori ahead of an army raid on Sambisa forest. He said the gallant soldier was not in the tank when Boko Haram ambushed them. “He was outside the tank; he was outside with his radio system. And because it was dark, nobody could exactly see the enemies who shot him.” “The firing came from behind. When these people [Boko Haram] came, he went towards that direction to see what was happening. He was not in the tank.” The senior military official also spoke about the death of other soldiers and that it could have been prevented if basic night equipment were available. “You know, night attacks are always difficult.” “If you’re going for night attacks, you need your night sight — your night vision goggle — so that you can identify your targets clearly. You know what it means to fight in the dark? Confusion. You don’t know who is who. “But I tell you what, there are only two night vision goggles to an entire battalion. In some cases, you will even find a battalion that has no single night vision goggle.” “Ali went to Mallam Fatori, and the while thing was successful, it was after the operation that this Boko Haram attack was launched,” the official continued. The founder of Facebook,Mark Zuckerberg, is visiting Nigeria for a few days. He was at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHub), Yaba, Lagos on Tuesday where he engaged with students and was marveled at children coding and sharing ideas Today, Zuckerberg is expected to host a Q&A session sharing Facebook’s strategic plans in Africa’s largest economy. Though the visit is part of a series of global town hall meetings, Facebook’s strong ties with Nigeria cannot be ignored. Nigeria has 16 million people visiting the social media platform monthly, and has remained Facebook’s biggest market in Africa. In a bid to further grow that market, Facebook launched its FreeBasics service in Nigeria in May. Targeting a bulk of the population who cannot afford internet access, the service will allow users to access Facebook as well as other listed websites at no cost. According to Seni Sulyman, director of Andela Lagos -which Raised USD24 Million From Mark Zuckerberg And His Wife Priscilla Chan -Zuckerberg’s visit “reinforces not only his support of Andela’s mission, but his belief that indeed the next generation of great technology leaders will come out of Lagos, Nigeria and cities across Africa.” This is the time, we see TechPreneurs springing up from Nigeria and Africa at large Source http://techpreneursafrica.com/facebook-owner-mark-zuckerbergs-surprise-visit-to-nigeria/

The report reaching us has it that the senators and the honourable members of the house have shared N57.8 billion among themselves, the Senators got N200 million each amounting to N21.8 billion while the honourable members of the house got N100 million amounting to N36 billion in the name of the dreaded fraudulent constituency projects This is happening when most Nigerians can not afford 2 meals per day, and the so called representatives can’t even pass the 2016 budget, THE REPORT The appetite for the members of NASS to collect billions of our common wealth without accountability is never an ending one, unless we the masses collectively say enough is enough and put an end to it ourselves! During a recent interview with the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA), Honourable Faruk Bala Muhammadu, who represents Bida/Gbako/Katcha constituency in Niger state revealed that the federal government has just released the sum of N100 million for each House of Representative member, and N200 million for each Senator, for the dreaded fraudulent constituency projects. This money is NOT part of the 2016 budget. Now, there are 360 constituencies in Nigeria. This means N100,000,000*360 = N36 billion has quietly been paid to the “Honourables” without any publicity and hence knowledge of the masses. To the best of our knowledge, it is only Mr. Faruk Bala Muhammadu, who is true to his name and honourable enough to admit that he received this money and is appropriating it for rural electrification project in his constituency. I was out with a friend of mine on Saturday who works with a bank here in Abuja. all of a sudden, he started lamenting and said he is no longer sure of his job . When i asked why, he said that the bank he works with just passed a circular to the top management that they are sacking over 1,000 people and his fear now is he does not know if he will be affected According to him, so many banks in Nigeria are set to sack thousands of their staff due to bad economy and negative effect of CBN policies on banks One of the banks that have made it public to sack staff is first bank. this is as a result of a “very bad” 2015 earnings, which saw the bank’s profit slump by 82% to N15 billion. The chief executive officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Adesola Adeduntan, while Speaking to Bloomberg in Lagos, said the bank expects to boost its return on equity (ROE) – a key measure of profitability – to between 11 percent and 14 percent in 2016 from 2015’s figure of 3 percent. It will be noted that according to the International Monetary Fund Net profit fell to 15 billion naira ($76 million) from 84 billion naira in 2014, as impairments soared and Africa’s biggest economy slowed amid a crash in the price of crude, the biggest source of government revenue and export earnings. Growth decelerated to 2.8 percent in 2015, the lowest level since 1999, and may worsen to 2.3 percent this year,. So many banks in Nigeria are suffering from this and some have started sacking their staff secretly .Have you noticed that when you go to some banking halls these day, you will only see one or two staff attending to over 50 people We now imaging a bread winner of a family of 5, who has spent almost all his life working for a bank only for him to wake up one day and be told that his does not have a job any longer. Coupled with the bad economy where the prices of everything has gone up by 70%, how is he and his family going to cope The point is that, the banking sector is not the only one affected, so many companies are laying off staff, some will not sack you , but when you don't receive salary for 4 months, you will sack your self. it's clear to everybody that the economy is bad and we can't continue thinking the same old way we were thinking some years back if we want to have a happy tomorrow As you are reading this, are you a staff of a company, do you think you are save. dont you think its time to set up a small business that can be bringing in something daily, weekly or even monthly. If you don't know where to start, research around, ask a friend . There are so many opportunities out ..... The report reaching us is that Nigerians protesters have taken over the national assembly and blocked the whole area in a protest tagged #OccupyNass. The protest is led by the Citizens United for Peace and Stability (CUPS), http://www.onlinebasedmarketing.com/happening-now-protester-takes-over-and-blocks-national-assembly/ Updates: Scores of protesting youths under the aegis of Occupy National Assembly, on Tuesday, besieged the premises of the federal parliament and demanded the immediate resignation of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. The youths made up of various Civil Society Organisations and students, were also demanding that the federal lawmakers should immediately revisit the grey areas identified in the 2016 budget by President Muhammadu Buhari. Apart from this, they asked 36 senators who had so far collected their own exotic jeeps to return them immediately or face the wrath of Nigerians. The protesters marched from the Unity Fountain within the Central Area of the city to the National Assembly, a journey of about two kilometers and forced their way to the main gate, defiling all security network mounted by regular and riot police officers. The youths forced the main gate closed thereby preventing staff, lawmakers and visitors from either entering or leaving the premises. Some Nigerians are jubilating over a $2b loan from China and the so nocknamed the Yuan trading deal. China wants to lend us 2 billion dollars, but they want to give us in Yuan and not the dollar itself. I don’t blame Chinese leaders for trying to scam us, I blame our leaders for not being smart enough. What do you expect when you have political hacks negotiating on behalf of Nigeria against smart professionals from China? I was thinking Nigeria political leaders will do research about Chinese lobbyists in Washington and understand the interest they are protecting before believing in this Chinese version of Trojan horse called the Yuan Trading deal.
