Defending individuals through their literary work. Did Achebe literary work do all that? Hell yeah. His book is read all over the world. Translated in multiple languages. Things fall apart being the number one at that. Through that book, the entire world learned about Africa prior to colonization and about Igbo culture prior to colonization. so check in the connecting the world through his literary work. Every Igbo, African, etc I've met that wish for their future to be a writer points to him as their mentor. Well known as the "father of modern african writing" so check in helping individuals understand the benefit of education. Mandela and few other African icons that were jailed unjustly openly said his book got them through those times. Check again for helping individuals cope through their tough times. He spoke and defended Africa by his damn self when a well known racist writer tried to belittle the entire continent thus challenging the m0ron by the name of Conrad that tried to destroy Africa's image. Again check for defending individuals through his literary work. While we at it, he was openly against corruption in Nigeria and Africa.
