He has performed creditably in every sector:
Security--u hardly hear of kidnap,robbery etc in anambra
Education--The evidence is there in WAEC, NECO, etc
Civil service wellfare-- He pays workers as and when due and gives them other incentives
Agriculture-- He gives manure, crops, etc to farmers at subsidised rate plus easy access to loan. Anambra rice and cassava are now being exported to the world
Commerce and industry--I need not say much, the evidence are there in shoprite, Sabmilla, orient petroleum, etc

I can go on and on. Recently he gave every community in Anambra state #20million each for community projects and development.

AWKA—Ahead of Anambra 2017 governorship election, former executive member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Okechukwu Okafor, has said it had become imperative to bring a better material from Anambra North senatorial zone to complete the two tenures to be enjoyed by the zone.

Chief Okafor was reacting to a claim by Gov. Willie Obiano’s SSA, Politics, Tony-Collins Nwanbunwane, that Anambra State would return to crisis days if the zone is not allowed to complete its eight years double tenure.

The PDP stalwart stated that the performance of the incumbent governor was abysmal and that the only thing that would make power to remain in Anambra North was for a better candidate to emerge from the zone.

He alleged that Obiano was only working on bill boards and in the wild imaginations of his appointees as well as paid sycophants who have lost touch with reality of what is actually on ground in the state.

Okafor identified the inability of the governor to conduct local government elections to deepen democracy in the state as a major failure and a move to drag the state backward, noting that any approach that would make the governor a sole administrator is not acceptable.

He said: “There is no justification whatsoever for non conduct of local government election. If the president had refused to conduct guber poll over one flimsy excuse or the other, definitely Obiano himself would not have the opportunity to come on board.”

The PDP chieftain, however, recalled with nostalgia how the incumbent governor abused the confidence the state imposed on the North Senatorial zone and thus had cast the zone as one that lacked the human capital to perform like the last two Governors from the Central Senatorial zone had done.

The PDP boss said he agreed with the declaration by a former governor, Dr Chris Ngige, who is the Minister of Labour and Productivity that the incumbent governor would be flushed out of Government House in the next election for incompetence.

Expired Guinness Products Impounded In Anambra By Consumer Protection Council by SunFlow(m): 1:18am

The south-east zonal coordinator of Consumer Protection Council led and headed by Mrs Ngozika Obidike has impounded 69 and half crates of expired Guinness Alcoholic drinks from a warehouse located at Awka-Ofemmili, Awka North LGA of Anambra State, allegedly belonging to a major distributor to Guinness Nigeria Plc.

Mrs Ngozika Obidike who made this known to newsmen in Awka, said the seizure was made following complaints by residents of the area, about possible food poisoning after consuming, Guinness Africa Special Alcoholic drinks allegedly purchased from the distributor.

According to her, “the complainant, Mr Ikechukwu Nnajidenma and his friends experienced severe purging and vomiting which made them to look at the bottles and found out that the drinks had expired. Immediately, we visited the warehouse with policemen, and discovered that 69 and half cartons of the Guinness drink have all expired. We (CPC) quickly took custody of them.”

Mrs Obidike who stated that the CPC has commenced investigations to ascertain the actual source of the expired products being sold to unsuspecting members of the public, also advised people to be mindful of the expiry dates on processed foods and drinks before consuming them.

The south-east coordinator of Consumer Protection Council further disclosed that the ceased items alongside other expired and unwholesome consumable products in the custody of the council would be destroyed publicly in line with the mandate of the council. “our job is to eliminate hazardous products from the market and address consumer’s Complaints amicably through investigation, mediation and conciliation. We shall destroy this drinks as well, because that is our mandate”. Correspondent reports that the expiry date on the label of the ceased Guinness products was 14th May 2016, while there were still being sold to the public as at 30th May, when the CPC raided the warehouse and impounded the products.

Zik’s Avenue Awka and Eke Awka market capital territory was taken over by flood last week after 20 minutes rain and these are photos of the streets immediately after the rain.
The gutters which were originally constructed along with the link roads have filled up with debris and refuse. The managing agencies responsible for the collection of refuse and clearing of the storm flow channels appear to have failed to perform their duties.
The immediate community surrounding the Eke Awka Market has remained at the mercy each rain event. The commuters have also found themselves at the mercy of each rain event.
An enforceable government policy appears absent to address the current flooding problems.

Lassa fever: Protect your gari, Anambra resident told On August 19, 20166:28 amIn NewsComments By Vincent Ujumadu Awka—A medical doctor and three other persons have reportedly died of Lassa fever in Anambra State. A resource person at a workshop in Awka yesterday, Dr. Jane Ezeonu, claimed the medical doctor, who died at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, NAUTH, three days ago, was referred to the hospital from Asaba, Delta State. Apart from the medical doctor, the Director of Public Health in the state, Dr. Emmanuel Okafor, said three other deaths, resulting from Lassa fever, had also been recorded in the state. To avoid an outbreak of the disease, Ezeonu warned people to stop drinking raw gari, advising them to protect their food and other related items from rats. According to her, people do not get immunity after suffering from Lassa fever as erroneously believed in some quarters, explaining that emphasis on general hygiene was important in Lassa fever prevention. Also speaking, Dr. Okafor said the workshop in Awka was to train professionals, who would go to the grassroots to educate the people on ways of preventing the disease. He said: “We don’t know the number of cases of Lassa fever disease yet, but we have four confirmed deaths.” While calling on health workers in the state to maintain high standard in handling Lassa fever cases, Okafor said the state government had put proactive measures to handle the situation. Though the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Okwuchukwu Chukwuka, said there was no epidemic of the disease in the state, he explained that the workshop was to serve as a proactive measure. The workshop was attended by health professionals in the 21 local government areas of the state, who were expected to sensitise and disseminate information about Lassa fever to the people at the grassroots level.

These women are protesting the severe hardish they are going through since Obiano came into power which saw their businesses closed through over taxation, double taxation, as well as the activities of Obiano revenue task force who clamp down on these poor women, beat them, assault them, seize their wares and in some cases destroy their shops.

Right now, APGA Interacvite Forum at Onitsha said, these protesters are right now at Okpoko Junction moving towards Upper Iweka.
