About the effect of COVID-19 on Higher education. Are admissions of international students going to be cancelled? NO! Not at all. If you’ve applied to universities already and have heard back with acceptance letters, you do NOT have to worry that your admissions will somehow be cancelled. You need to understand, universities need you just as much as you need them. If they start cancelling admissions of international students, their student numbers will fall drastically and so will their revenue. They don’t want that. IF by some terrible chance the virus is still wreaking havoc at the time that your classes are supposed to commence, universities will either ask you to move to online classrooms OR they will ask you to defer your admissions to the next semester. This doesn’t mean you won’t get your student visa - you will. But it means you might have to complete a few courses online until you can join them on campus OR you might have to wait a little longer to commence your course. The admission cycle and/or funding process will not be affected by the pandemic. At worst, the decisions might be delayed. But as soon as life can go back to normal (and it will), decisions will start being sent out again and universities will resume operation, the same as before. Stay safe obviously - but don’t let this pandemic change your plans long-term. This is a temporary disruption. Source : Effect of COVID on Higher education |
solihp:That's awesome. You GRE scores are good too. I'm just trying to understand what type o scholarships are actually present for Indian students. Do you have any idea about that. I just came to know from a scholarship blog that there are 3 types like Fellowship, Teaching A., Research A. Are there any other types of scholarships. |

Also visual learning helps in long term retention of the words which will improve vocabulary. There are many apps that solve this problem with lots of pictures and videos in them. These Vocabulary builder apps are the best fit for anyone who strive to improve their english. |
MasterforceII:That was so useful. Even there are many apps on playstore like Galvanize Test Prep, magoosh, knudge.me, vocabulary .com and many more. You can check it out here---> Best vocabulary apps |
solihp:Yes it's better to have a verbal plan. Quant is easier than verbal as the quant tests a very basic knowledge. But most of the time in verbal is consumed for reading and understanding the questions. A lot of practice is required for answering the GRE verbal section. |
iamblisz:It's easy to score 170 in GRE math. If you are good at formulas life becomes easy. I'm not sure about materials to refer, but I can recommend you to follow some forum like greprepclub, urch, grad cafe. Try to be active in them. Follow some GRE math blogs to get some tips to score high. USE VOCAB flashcards and builder apps as well. Vocabulary.com - USE the GRE word list provided here. And why this is helpful because it let's you understand HOW a word is used apart from ROTE learning vocab. PLUS ETS don't tell you where it excerpts come from but It's from TOP News Papers like NYTimes, Washington Posts etc. and Vocab.com will be using such excerpts. Try reaching a score of 1-3 million. That's a good advice. Vocab builder apps are very helpful in learning vocabulary with ease and in gamified way. DavidLoves:GRE score are valid for a period of five years and it also depends on the time you have taken the test. For example, if you have taken the GRE exam on or after July 5, 2019, your scores are valid up to July 4, 2024. But if you take the test before July 1, 2019,(say April 30 2019) scores are valid for the following testing year i.e June 30, 2024. Hope this helps you understand clearly. Sento1:Instead of directly looking into the samples, you need to know how and what content is written in each paragraph with sample presentation. Also it is required to know how not to write a sop. Might this be useful for what you are looking and what I'm trying to explain. Statement of purpose sample explanations |
kalan:That's a great sample for statement of purpose. Reading blogs on Statement of Purpose also helps a lot for writing a winning sop to stand out of millions like us. A recommended simple template is like.. Para 1: Introduction para 2: High school & Undergraduate work. para 3: Continue to middle and key paragraph para 4: Discuss internship/work experience para 5 &6: Why XYZ university? |
Need of understanding the passages types This provides a clear understanding of what you are looking in a passage. Help you understand the organisation of the passage. So I accepted my fate that I won't join Fall 2018 cohort. In fact, I bought "higher everyday" note book to start my GRE practice again with plans for fall19. I had already downloaded galvanize prep, ready4GRE, Manhattan App, Magoosh vocab. I had some text books and I made up my mind to borrow some books from the embassy.Congratulations!! Good to read this... I too started my preparation with these apps after reading this. Of all those Galvanize test prep GRE app is amazing. Its quite helpful. Thanks a lot. |

mfarad:It's generally said that verbal is tougher than quant and even I felt that too. I started preparing like hell for Verbal. Even I'm using a high rated Vocabulary builder app and I'm enjoying learning from it. I observed the changes in my score as I took it serious in my preparation. |

That's really true. We shouldn't rely only on the America. There are many countries like Cananda, Australia... Even I dreamed to get my masters from American university. But missed it as my GRE score is not up to the mark. |

Leoney:Hey even I used this Galvanize test prep android app. I really love it. The questions in the app resembles the actual GRE exam. I recently took profile evaluation from these guys and this is quite helpful. You can check this app here-->GRE App |
Please don't get confused by using all kinds of material. Different guys follow different approach to the solutions. Be clear while picking up the material. And yes videos really works well also you need to practice. At the end only your practice matters. And the most important thing is stop worrying. This nowhere helps you in getting good score. Keep calm and practice well. I personally prefer Galvanize Test Prep where I solved many GRE practice tests and got clarified through video lectures. At the end I would like to say it again...Stop Worrying and keep practicing. |
