I used to believe in science a lot till I got inflicted with this condition. You will soon find out that doctors are exactly like car mechanics or even worse. They are clueless. They will tell you the name of the disease and give you diagnosis but that’s it. If you have good health cherish it. Doctors are lies. Also, no doctor will tell you he/she cannot help you. If you have money to pay, they are ready to collect. NO MACHINE IN THIS WORLD CAN SEE PAIN. ponder on these words.

For a person who made this post 1am I think your sleep life lacks quality.

This has been going on for a year. During this time I definitely had long periods of good sleep in between. I took a long break off work and made sure I slept and rested well. Still, not much changed. I’ve changed beds and pillows, still.

First things first let's put some things in practice. Start with go to sleep early. Turn off your TV set few hours earlier than usual regualry. When in traffic during the day, use those free hours to relax and sleep while transiting. Do this over the next one week and come back and tell me your observations

I have been sleeping very well and in excess lately. In fact, some days I just feel like not waking up because I know I’m waking up to the continuous pain. It doesn’t relent. It is the same every second. Even when I wake in the morning. It doesn’t feel much like a headache. It’s like a weird vice-like grip on my head. I don’t think this is just a case of mere sleep deprivation.

Health / Anyone Experiencing Occipital Neuralgia (persistent Headaches) ? by RSS18: 10:52pm On Dec 13, 2019
I’ve been experiencing persistent headaches, neck pain, eye pains, pressure and pain behind the eyes(especially left eye), tingling in the face and pressure in the temple. Basically, it feels like my head is in a vice grip. I was diagnosed by a neurologist as Occipital neuralgia. I was given some medications but it’s not doing much. It basically just takes the edge off but doesn’t take the pains away. I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced something like this and how did they cope ? I’ve been dealing with this for a year now. Everyday is a struggle.

Thank you very much. I had thought of Occipital Neuralgia as some of the symptoms relate to it. I infact had to stop with the amitriptyline after reading it up because I know how bad it can be. I had visited 4 different hospitals before now and they are supposed good hospitals. They all took my vitals.

I eventually had a video session with my Indian Neurologist, some of my blood samples was taken to Indian and they are all fine. Only God knows how much I have spent all these while.

I will be doing an MRI next week. Hopefully he will be making a definite diagnosis though he mentioned cervical spondylosis when we were talking.

Thanks bro. I really appreciate.

I am experiencing the exact same issues as you for close to a year now. Pain behind the head and neck and after a while developed discomfort in my left eye. The pain is always on the left side then goes up with turning of the neck. After seeing multiple MDs who mostly couldn’t find the issue or told me I’m fine and it’s psychological, did multiple scans(X-rays, CT scans & MRIs of brain and neck), I saw a neurologist who diagnosed occipital neuralgia. He prescribed amitriptyline as well. Those had no effect. Didn’t even improve sleep so I stopped taking them. He suggested a nerve block but I’m scared of injections to the head. I have been researching constantly and have connected it to an issue in the upper cervical spine(neck). I suspect some ligament damage. I also saw an orthopedic doctor who also tried to do the nerve blocks( btw, the blocks are 50K each ). I still haven’t done those as I’ve read online they provide only temporary relief. I’m a software developer so I spend a lot of time on my computer which might explain where the problem may have started. I’m looking into something called an atlas correction but it’s not done here in Nigeria. I’m scared everyday and this has made me depressed. Sleeping has become difficult. It’s hard to find a comfortable position. Most times I wake up multiple times at night. Most times I use sleeping and pain meds to sleep. Maybe we can pool our knowledge together and try to find a solution. Also, what was the result of your consult with the Indian neurologist ? Indian has good health care professionals, I’m hoping you get good relief soon.
