All these analysis missed the real reason for lack of investment in the SE. Most Igbos with means to purchase these goods don't even live in the SE hence low return on investment. They mostly live in the SW and the North hence money will always go to where their is a good ROI. End of story.

This is also a factor.

At the same time it's not an excuse.

The east is dense enough as a viable market. There is enough money there especially when you consider its close proximity with the South South market.
The problem is that the investments are just not going there due to highly degraded infrastructure and poor economic planning.

Abia state is highly dense, highly commercial, but poorly structured.
A state like abia If organised infrastructurally has everything to compete with Lagos for investments.

Look at states like akwa ibom, a border state with abia, attracting serious investments.
They are not a very populous state, but they have done the basics and they are reaping the benefits.

And the sad truth is that they can never put their heads down and learn.

Arrogance all the way through from leaders to followers.

If every state issues their own driving license, that means to move from one state to another in Nigeria, you need to carry 35 licenses + FG license making it 36. It's not their fault at all. That's what you get when your FG is as useless as the gold on Neptune. If the FG was not useless, they will have put their foot down and scrapped that useless LASDRI of a thing. Why will the FG approve and give me a driving license to drive freely within Nigeria and then one useless state govt will now say I must get another license as if they are not part of Nigeria. And worst of it is that the useless LASDRI is nothing but another agbero extortion policy, not even about public safety. Just pay 2K bribe and get it same day. Renewable every year, more money for the thieves .
