Buhari is biulding a massive pipeline to take natural gas mainly from Assa fields in the east to Niger republic while pretending he is taking the gas to Europe! On the way, they will biuld close to 4000 MW power stations each at Abuja, Kano and Kaduna respectively.., maybe some in Niger republic as usual, but NONE in the whole of the former eastern Nigeria, the source of the pipeline! Not even one!!! This is by far, one project that is going to test the resolve of eastern youths! The nepotism embedded here is soooo suffocating, you want to throw up!! @ Op, the gas fields effected are both in SS and SE. Infact, most of the gas being piped are from imo and abia gas fields, the largest in this continent.

Buhari showed the worst type of tribalism in this very project and somehow thought he has gotten away with that by buying off mercenary Igbo eastern leaders in Abuja with petty construction contraacts. He is fooling himself. Chickens will ultimately come home to roost at the appointed time... You know what? The pipeline is so vast that even if you employed the whole Nigerian army, it won't be enough to safeguard it, so the best security prospect would have been to use the project to develop the south east and the south south energy sector as well so as to tie the people's energy demands to the line. Buhari refused! We are his colony, abi? We will see... I will do a detailed post on this in few days time..

To start with, it's jejune to expect a coalition between Zik and Awo because it was Awo that stampeded Zik out of Western Nigerias politics with the "cross carpeting" episode. That was the first in modern African politics and nearly rendered Zik ineffective in the politics of the first republic, pushing him to upstage Eyo Ita as the eastern premier.., leading to the Genesis of igbo squabbles with her minority neighbors that echos even today.... Again, after the general elections of 1964, Zik as the president refused vehemently to summon the the prime minister to form a government because of the violence/irregularities in the western region which culminated in Awolowos imprisonment! Facts!

2)In the second republic, Zik also contested under NPP. As an Igbo, even if he won, You lot would never have handed over to him, so it was basically a Choice between Awolowo and shagari. No sane igbo would have gone for Awolowo after his failed attempt to empty igboland of it's humanity during the war.. So with Shagari choosing a very erudite igbo as his running mate, it was obvious he was going to make inroads..

3)) In 1993, igbos also voted for abiola inspite of his uncanny vituperations about how he doesn't need the igbos. You guys are the ones always insisting that igbos only voted for tofa. Moreover, the National electoral commission that went ahead and declared abiolas numbers in most states against the militarys orders was headed by an ebullient igbo.. You set the tone of politics. Yoou disqualified or imprisoned politicians not aligned to your ideology.. Such powers came with the 'wins' of 1970... The dispair that is Nigeria today, evidently is the grand result/product of your maladministration, together with your comrade in arms from the SW. You can't be at the top, dictating events and controlling resources so massively and then turn around to share the blame of failures... It doesn't make sense. It doesn't work that way..
