Awolowo was the then Paramount leader of the Yorubas! He was the leader of the AG and of course the leader of the SW at the federal level. At the night of the coup, awolowo was lying hopelessly at the Calabar prisons, deep inside the coupists controlled east! The east from that night till the end of the war was in the hands of igbo officers! So the question is; if the plan was to eliminate all leaders of the other regions, why didn't the coup plotters simply walk into the Calabar prisons to drag him out and waste him? How many other officers and politicians apart from those involved in the mayhem prior to the coup, with their support for the NPC were targeted? Actually, my grouse with that coup has to do with the fact that a lot of people both military and civilians, who were supposed to be targeted, were left of the hook. Those were the folks who regrouped to haunt down the initial coup plotters.. Imagine aworld without babangida abacha danjuma and the herdman terrorising you today...

Nzeogwu was with nothern army officers in the north and they never revolted against him until he handed over to Hassan katsina and co before wilfully surrendering to Ironsi at Lagos... The general mood in the country including the north was more of "good riddance". I tire for this people. They are only doing this to save obafemi awolowo, their evil grand father who initiated tribal politics with the transmutation of egbe omo ofuduwa into a tribal party in Nigerias politics as Action Group. How about Dimkas coup that was basically a very bloody action taken by northern minorities against the Hausa/fulanis usurpation of power post Gowon? How about Orkars coup that boldly slized off the far north from Nigeria and dashed them to Niger republic so the rest of the country can have some peace? Why are these two coups not always mentioned whenever sectional coups are talked about? Simple; because the Lagos-Ibadam expressway branch of Nigerias mercenary press has refused to weave any sort of ethnic intent behind those..

The planners of those two coups stressed the reasons for their actions but nobody talks of those in derisive terms, meanwhile Nzeogwu boldly stated the patriotic reasons for his coup, yet tribal revisionists won't still rest.... Alright,the coup failed, you revised all the planned actions by the coupists, you had thrilions of dollars from stolen oil revenue to biuld an egallitarian society afterwards. I don't think she was being deliberately tribalistic on this issue. . I just think she dabbled into a slippery topic rather audaciously and is about going to hit her fat behind on the ground. She did raise some serious facts that I personally have sat down to reason some times. Eg; why do say rioters pursue igbos and their property so desperately in the middle of conflicts even when the issues at stake do not concern the igbos?? Why is it that no matter the evil done to igbos, there are more or else just about 10 non igbos willing to speak up??
. I also think she knows little to nothing about the ",nwa boy" stuff. That thing is tough! 5,6,7 sometimes up to 10 years of almost slavery. Most igbo boys struggle with it. Most simply hang in there because it's their best chance at living the good life they dream of ... It's also a not as simple to agree on as it looks from the surface. Lots of family agreements and familial understanding, otherwise the kid can elope with your funds after 6 months. . It's basically part of a culture, spured by perculiar events. . The way it's crudely run can only appeal to somebody from surrounding culture..

The debate on whether to add the rail tacks or not started around the babangida regime. Any igboman who has been following the wicked responses from the Nigerian government as it regards the demandd for that bridge, for almost 4 decades now will be conversant with that. Infact , in an earlier plan presented during the military regimes, a plan with rail tracks drawn to allow the passage of bigger ships was publicized. They will later remove the rail tracks because according to the government then, there was no money! The same idea was mooted during the Obasanjo regime, the same response. Today, one Buhari is biulding modern rail tracks to Ramadi in Niger republic! So? Is there still no money to connect asaba with onitsha? Why are you not outraged with Nigeria borrowing money to biuld rail tracks and gas pipelines in Niger republic while having no such finances for projects in the East?

I have no intention whatsoever of entertaining anybody with this over laboured topic. It's very silly for igbos to allow themselves to be forced into a corner where just one over hyped project becomes the only regional goal for a people. How many bridges from the mainland to the island in Lagos? Was there any similar commotion before the bridge across River Benue? Did northerners campaign so hard before the government awarded the contracts for the power stations being built at Abuja Kaduna and Kano at the moment If there are igbos who believe that anybody who completes that bridge is the new Messia, I'm not one of them! With the igbo population, her gas and oil receipts, the duties her sons pay at the ports daily and the taxes across Nigeria, projects in igbo land should never be so politicised. So Just like the so-called igbo presidency, no igbo should beg for what he deserves! Its either you treat the igbo EQUALLY, or the igbo should prepare to fight it out!

Given up on seeing quality structures in this country especially with our roads... Every body with pink skin and long hairs are experts and they will come here and be doing all sorts of shody jobs. The fact that the ministry of works is flooded with a lot of very inept hands doesn't help matters as they can't monitor construction companies expertly... To have stuff like these in Nigeria, we really need to have a serious conference on roads constructions. It's not like the ideas being proffered are new, these are projects already in place elsewhere. . Here, we are still dealing with the thick black coal tars that draw heat and look too ugly when others have moved on... Lots of frustrating realities with the way things are done here..
