Politics / The Devilsh Politicization Of The Murder Of A Woman In Hijab At Anambra by Rugaria: 4:08pm On May 24, 2022 |
It seems like there is a desperate attempt to murder as many people as possible in the South East and to pin such murders on The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB. One has to worry about the real motives of the perpetrators of these campaign of calumny against the people of the South East. Every single new day, dead bodies are brandished all over the internet with a retineu of internet handles already waiting to mount a very reckless and vociferous campaign to convince all reading without evidence, that these murders were orchestrated and ruthlessly implemented by IPOB. Every attempt made by Ipob to distance herself from these violence is totally rejected by these campaigners, who without any solid evidence will continue with their utterly mischievous attempt to hang the toga of terrorism on a group that has been determined to achieve her political goals peacefully. The newest episode is the killings of a Woman in Hijab with his children. It was said that this happened somewhere in the East. Even when no proper identification process has been done, desperate characters who are determined to brandish this case as a reason to argue that extra judicial killings are rampant in the East, have gone on an overdrive! Shamelessly, they do this while trying to rope in the case of Deborah Samuel, a lady that was killed by some of her classmates few days ago, because she was accused of blasphemy! Essentially, folks are now unearthing gruesome excuses of supposed killings in the East, to justify gruesome murders elsewhere. An unidentified person or group of persons, murders a woman and his kids somewhere in the East, it becomes a convinient to excuse to justify the violent extermination of a lady in the premises of her academic institution, by her fellow classmates and students! Nigeria has a way of standing facts and reasoning on their haeds, if the Igbo is involved! The facts are these: Recently, lots of kidnappings and killings have been happening in the east as the general elections approach! In almost all of these killings, the pepertrators are seldom caught as they are nowhere to be found by the time the security agencies arrive the scene! Most of the victims are igbos, killed in the most gruesome manner possible. It's hard to understand the motives behind these killings as most times, those responsible make no reasonable attempt to explain their motives and where they do, it is all about complaints after complaints as it regards the military build up in the east. The indigenous people of Biafra as an organization has been very strident in stating that they are not involved in the mayhem. Many igbos actually suspect that forces from outside igboland are responsible for this uptick in violence. No one knows who killed that lady and her innocent kids and no pro Biafran group has claimed responsibility. It's is important to state these facts in order to make sure that those who are trying pinthese murders on innocent easterners are exposed for what they truly are; perennial mischief makers who feed on the carcass of peace. The security agencies should go about arresting those involved in violence of this nature, including Their sponsors and supporters from outside the region. It's also important to note that most uptick in violence witnessed in the East recently, always happen as particular elections draw near. This should make one to understand that the reason for the violence might be totally different from what we are being made to believe. Those who blame The Biafran agitators for all these violence should explain to us how the killing of Dr Akunyili helps to achieve Biafra for instance. The whole thing makes no sense! It's starting to look like a well choreographed political false flag operation, unleashed to make the East look too volatile for any serious political participation come 2023! 5 Likes 1 Share |

Is Katsina more populated than Anambra? This is why it has become a do or die affair to readjust the structures of The Nigerian State. A military administrator divides the country according to his whims and caprices to favor hiss tribal group and somehow that becomes the law that we have to follow even during a civilian dispensation. Because of this some people gets most of the delegates and most of the state allocations while the others should pepertually get less! Something has to give.. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Reno Omokiri or whatever he calls himself should shut his trap for heavens sake and stop all these proxy war against the igbos because some igbos took him to the cleaners the other day after he came up with all sorts of Cork and Bull stories about how the igbos were enslaved by his unknown itshekiri people! Since then, this guy has made it a point of duty to aim his tirade towards the igbo, even if he pretends such is not the intention. Who and who is defending the killings of the woman? Who knows who kilked her? Many people are getting killed in Anambra and Imo by some unknown actors and the people of these areas have been complaining! Most of the victims are from the East! Almost all are igbos! Very important and hardworking personalities. I don't know where Omokiri and his type got the impression that anybody is happy over the killings of some kids and their mother! Is Dr Akunyili a Hausa man? The engineer that was killed at Enugu some months back, was he from Kafanchan? How about the legislator that was killed few days ago!? That one is Fulani from Birnin Kebbi!?!? These are cheap shots from a supposed pastor! He should let the Igbo be and move on! All these bloodshed and mayhem in the South East is because the igbos supported his principal, Goodluck Jonathan against the guy from Niger republic! That was how it all started and everyone in this country knows this! His people have never supported any Igbo mans political ambitions before! He should face Nigeria and stop trying to rope the Igbo man into all sorts of political tempest? 202 Likes 20 Shares |

Lifestone: This is not an attack on capitalism! This a direct attack on wayward capitalism. There is no gainsaying the fact that private ownership of properties is the best way to go. That is given and I took it for granted that most people here also think this way! A little surprised that some people feel that I am arguing that the whole capitalist framework should be discarded for communism or socialism. That's totally wrong. What I set out to do was to point out the fact that when a government of a big country as big as Nigeria, totally abdicates any role in business, simply because it has bought into the worn out narrative that governments should only be interested in creating the socalled "conducive environment" for private businesses to thrive and then doubles down on the whole mess by selling off prized assets to the highest bidders both to locals and foreigners, without trying to have significant interests in some of these strategic businesses, that country henceforth exists on paper! I gave a typical example in another thread with China Telecom, China Mobile, China Bank and China Bank of Industry! These are some of the strategic industries responsible for vaulting the whole of the Chinese economy to top of world trade and economics. Different countries develop at different periods of global evolution and as such, are faced with certain troubles peculiar to that age. For instance, these days, 'made nations' are doing their best to subvert several developing nations from outgrowing them. This leads to economic terrorism! You can not fold your hands and allow the nebulous so called foreign investors to defend your country and her shaky economy in trying moments, you have to take action as a nation. You have to caliberate the growth of strategic businesses within your economy in a way that most of the profits don't fly off the borders with every dividends paid! How can you do this? Take a look at the investments made by the former Anambra state government under Obi in the foreign brewery that started operation there. Today, the growth of that company, translates to the growth of the pockets of the state government, providing needed revenue to help build up needed infastructure. The federal government is investing in the Dangote refinery. I think they federal government should have invested upto 50% shares there. Let Mr Dangote run the day to day activities but let the profits from there be devided based on government stakes. What stops the federal government from buying up to 30 to 50% of the telecommunications companies and maybe prune down the licenses to just 2 companies as the Chinese have done, even though they have ten times our population? Let them do these in steel and cement and solid minerals and co! If they don't do this, where do you expect them to get the money and revenue to get Nigeria off her knees? From the ubiquitous taxes? Taxes from who? Jobless youths and moribund companies? Taxes on NAPEP and TRADERMONI? The money is not there and instead of borrowing the country to her grave as they are doing, be inventive and do something! I'm talking of strategic areas of the economy here. Not all parts of the economy. There are many dormant areas of the economy that the investors are running away from! Let them go to these areas and make money and allow the government the chance to make quicker money in some of the other areas mentioned above. We always like to praise the Chinese for all they have achieved in few decades, but do you know that there are certain grades of shares that I can not buy from certain companies in China simply because I'm a foreigner? I mean these shares are left for their poor citizens whom the government knows that they can't compete with big foreign capitalists. Why can't we try such here? |

OloYeOfEgbE: Nigerians are like this. You see how he is jumping out of his skin defending foreign interests just to sound like he belongs? Just make a thorough check of all of Nigerias economic or political undertakings and you will find out that whenever some foreign interests decide to undermine the country, they always always use some Nigerians. Even the shell example you gave, it's Nigerians there that are running the show for them. Shell and other Oil multi nationals don't have any serious metering systems to check the amount of oil the lift everyday from Nigeria. Infact, the CIA once reported that an African country exports upto double the amount of oil it declares daily.. Google the declarations of The Justice Irekefe panel of the early 80s on non metering of oil flow stations. This has been going on since the 70s. What the oil companies do, is to lift as much oil as they can and then quote the numbers to the federal government based on prevailing market prices of the day. They will then remit the amount accruable to the government through The NNPC, since almost half of the earnings will still go back to the same Oil companies through some dubious socalled "joint venture calls"! And you will have a thoroughly empty quantity like the upsart you just quoted, trying hard to defend this indefensible reality because he thinks he knows economics! |

Corruption has always been our big headache in this country but Capitalism as is being practiced in Nigeria will lead Nigeria to one end: a terrible Cul de sac! People in this country don't seem to put too much attention to it, but Nigerias continuous slide towards economic oblivion started with Babangidas agreement to implement The Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) as was directed by the ubiquitous IMF in the 80s. This Program relied heavily on the privatization and commercialization of government businesses. What happened was that The West mounted a serious amount of pressure on the different governments of Nigeria to either implement SAP or be sanctioned economically. Most of Nigerias government before Babangida refused this option for obvious reasons. But Nigeria finally caved in under Babangida and wildly implemented SAP. This didn't surprise most people since Babangidas government was rumored to have been put in place by foreign governments anyways. The implementation of this program led to the wholesale selling off of Nigerias prime assets in different sectors of the economy, including the banking, oil and gas , cement and steel etc. While on the surface, it looked like these companies were being sold to some high performing industrialists, the fact of the matter was that the same foreigners that forced the Nigerian government to sell off these businesses to help guarantee efficiency, recruited a retineu of Nigerian business men beholden to foreign interests and funded them to buy off Nigeria assets. The result of this exercise has been damning to the country. Nigeria and Nigerians have never breathed easily ever since. For instance, if you have done a serious transaction with a Nigerian bank from outside the country, you would have noticed that you are paying double the charges for services, as both the Nigerian end and the new European parent companies charge you for the same deal! Back home, Nigerians see these banks as Nigerian banks, but since the days of "consolidation", Nigerian banks are owned by Europeans with some Nigerians masquerading as owners in Lagos while Nigerians are basically double charged for transactions made through "their own national banks"! There is no single example of a country that has been able to develop her economy with a banking sector that is foreign owned! The motive of these investors is not to make you better than them! Their motive is to make profits and become richer and that's why these banks will only sell products that will facilitate easy profits like loans to importers and not loans to small scale industrialists. Folks think we are talking about communism when we talk of recalibrating the business Boards of the government in order to put in place quality brains that can help the government make targeted investments in different high yielding sectors of the economy, like buying equities. This is totally wrong! To start with, communist countries don't join The WTO. Just like NATO that's more of military organization, The World Trade Organization has a set of anti communist rules that nations must meet up with before they're allowed in as members. One of those cardinal rules is the INSISTENCE on FREE TRADE. The Chinese government is operating a system that allows her to make these kind of investments in her economy, yet, there is "free trade" in China, just that the government has been extremely skillful enough to calibrate an economic environment that tolorates reasonable government presence in businesses. So China Inspite of being called. "The communist China" or being ruled by The Communist party, is in practice a "free market economy". How the government has been able to do the needful with government interventions in critical areas of the economy, without necessary going off track with her free market reforms, is the crux of the matter here. France, Germany and most European nations have their socialist parties with ideas that don't totally forbid free ownership of properties, but makes proper insistence on government involvement in the process of organizing the production of goods and services in order to make sure that money made is also used to effect the living standards of the people in better ways. The democratic party in the United States talks of "Free Healthcare"!! What is capitalist about free government services? The reason why Nigeria is a mess today and will always be is because of the kind of reasoning some Nigerians are sprouting on issues related to free market ideals. A lot of Nigerians either because of the university curriculum that has been tilted towards textbook free market ideologies, or because of the net effects of Western propaganda and brainwashing, are now more capitalist than Adam Smith! Everything has to be pravatized! If you allow Nigerians, they will privatize the Army and Police, since the two agencies have not been living up to expectations. The argument is that government businesses seldom succeed and that money made are looted by corruption. But questions are; how about money being made by big cops in Nigeria? Are those not disappearing into private pockets and into foreign accounts? Tax being paid by this companies are being looted too! So what are you talking about? Looting is Looting, irrespective of the Looter!! Statistically speaking, do you know that the ration of failed private businesses vs failed government businesses in Nigeria, might be over 100:1 with private businesses failing more? So why have we not sold private businesses off to some foreign heads as a remedy? The whole companies that have been privatized, where are the profits going? MTN relocates billions out of the country every month! Nigerian corrupt elites relocates billions out of the country every month! So what's the noise all about? Billions are being siphoned through some so called privatized organizations previously owned by the government, yet the budget for The Federal ministry of works can not even complete few major projects in a year! The Army is being paid peanut and the police has no serious allocations to fuel their vehicles! Who are these privatized organizations working for then? Nigerians or outsiders!? If the problem is corruption, face the corruption very severely and solve the problem. But from our experience, it's obvious that the wayward privatisation of government parastatals and the refusal of government to get involved in targeted investments in businesses, have led to a situation where some tiny bunch of highly unpatriotic individuals, whose real loyalty lies outside the shores of the country, are now the new captain of industries and are now milking the nations economy dry, with their ostentatious living and peculiar brand of hedonistic existence. They have billions of dollars made from the country stashed away in foreign accounts, because they don't trust the future of the country they have ruined! They buy more private jets than richer capitalists in bigger economies like China and some are planning to buy football clubs and golf courses in Europe, when the very roads that leads to their mansions in Nigeria are not even tarred! Yet they are the ones that sponsored the politicians. Lalasticlala 1 Like |

Penguin2:Go and tell that to China who dominates the so called free market economy of the world with many products from pro establishment factories. Like they say in China, what matters is not how you caught the rat but that you caught the rat! Problem with your type is that you gobble everything line hook and sinker. China Telecom is almost owned by the Chinese security branch. The China Mobile, is almost totally owned by the same Chinese government. Chinese companies in Oil and Gas are wholly owned by The Chinese government! The China Bank and The China Bank of Commerce and Industry, are all state owned. CESCO that is the main indigenous Chinese shipping line is state owned! The list is endless and in every sector of the Chinese economy..And you know what? All these companies are amongst the highest earners and top dogs in the Chinese economy. Do your research! Infact most of these real estate, chemicals, and trading companies that pretend to be private entities from China are nothing but state cooperations being privately managed by proxies in order to avoid WTO sanctions. This is why the The PLA is awash with cash year in year out, irrespective of the fact that the statutory budgetary allocations are many times smaller to say that of The US. If your problem in Nigeria is tribalism, fight to fix that, but don't use that argument to push for an economic agenda that only favors a tiny group of totally corrupt elite , while the majority of the people become poor spectators in the running of their countrys economy. 25 Likes 4 Shares |

Buhari is handing over to a fellow northerner! Take that to the bank. All these northern governors that are standing behind Southern presidential candidates know this. Buhari won't hand over to a southerner. If you look at his political displays since he emerged in Nigerias political scene and think he's going to hand over to a southerner for the sake of national unity, then you obviously don't understand the man. He's going to do whatever he's willing to do to coronate a northerner. The good thing about this though is that he will be by the sidelines, totally irrelevant, to watch as the grand consequences of his polarizing decisions unravel Nigeria. 3 Likes |

Another segment of the economy that needs to be nationalized as quick as possible! Some of these strategic areas need to be recalibrated in ways that allow the government to make money off them! The cement industry! The telecommunications industry! The betting industry! The solid minerals industry and ofcourse Oil and Gas! In some, government should go for half the stake in companys total equity! I don't see anything reasonably different that they're doing compared. Some of these very lucrative aspects of the economy needs to be nationalized and handed over to some business boards being managed for the Army and police. That's how the security agencies in most countries fighting serious wars or facing serious enemies make more money away from meager budgetary allocations. Some totally brainwashed black people will come over here to start quoting all sorts of regurgitated bullshit about free trade and privatisation. Go and tell that to China.. Ask them to tell you how to raise extra monies to fund the on going wars and they will go silent! Ask them to show you the added reinvestments in other strategic areas of the economy by these rent seekers parading around as prime investors, who got all these business permits from the Nigerian government for pittance but only uses the mega proceeds and profits to buy mansions in Dubai and London, they will keep quiet! 13 Likes 4 Shares |

Foreign Affairs / Zelensky: Ukraine Loosing Nearly Hundred Men A Day In Donbas by Rugaria: 7:03pm On May 23, 2022 |
Russia's war could kill between 50 and 100 Ukrainian servicemen in the East region every day, Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky said on Sunday. Zelensky gave the estimate when asked at a press conference about a petition to revoke a ban on men leaving the country. He had just met with Polish President Andrzej Duda. The petition has garnered 25,000 signatures. "I do not know to whom this petition should be addressed. Maybe to me. Or maybe it should be addressed to parents who have lost their sons, who defended this or that oblast, this or that city at the cost of their lives?" Zelensky said, according to the Ukrainian news organization Babel. "And you know that most of them are not the cities where they were born. When today, between 50 and 100 people a day can die in the most difficult direction, in the East," he continued, according to Babel. "They are defending our state and our independence, which is what everyone in the world is talking about." In his meeting with Duda in Kyiv, Zelensky said in a daily update that "Ukrainian-Polish relations are finally on a completely clean, sincere basis, without any quarrels and old conflict heritage." "This is an achievement. The historical achievement of our nations," the statement said. "And I want the brotherhood between Ukrainians and Poles to be preserved forever. As I said about this today to the deputies: for our unity, the unity of Ukrainians and Poles, to be a constant value that no one will violate." .......
