In as much as football players from northern Nigeria have never featured prominently in the senior national team, beginning from the Green Eagles to now Super Eagles, the situation is clearly going from bad to worse.

Available records have shown that from 1963 to date, only seven players from the core-north have featured for the senior national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON. This definitely does not reflect the talents that abound in the region.
Players from the north who have been to the AFCON with the Eagles are Annas Ahmed , Racca Rovers (1978), Shefiu Mohammed, Racca Rovers, Kano (1980), Ibrahim Mohammed and Ali Baba (1984), Abdul Aminu, El-Kanemi Warriors (1990 & 1992).

Igbos don't have problem with the north, our problems are with the yolobas, many of us have each parent from either the north or the east. Ike nwachukwu mother is from katsina state while his father is from abia, myself my mother is from Niger state while my father is from east.
Further more, many of our people made it in the north hence we don't have any issue with the north.

They betrayed GEJ in 2015 and formed alliance with the north.
They compromised the southern unification and restructuring agendas and partner with apc buhari hoping to be president after buhari,, I don't want to add the many sins of awolowo during the war or the reasons all seaports, etc are centered in west alone. Oil companies have head office in Lagos instead of south south.
