dearpiriye:It would be Private Universities. Most of these Federal & State Universities may tell you to apply, but .... They still end up picking a few on the ladder from first class down. Except of course, 'long legs' is involved. However, I'd rather not send off a discouraging vibe. Who knows?? It's better to try and pass/fail than not try at all.PS: I'm currently a 4th year MBBS student with a BSc degree in Anatomy. (I didn't get in through Direct Entry) |
Dejocular:It depends on what level you are in. My advice is to refrain from thinking about the number of hours you're supposed to be studying because you can study for 10hours and you've studied only one page. I'll rather advice that you focus on the number of topics that should be covered in a day. Let your study schedule be "workload-based" and not "time-based". |

Froshchuksswart:It's definitely worth it if that's what you want for yourself. Please do not compare yourself with anyone. I remember when I used to worry about main MB exams too. I used to see people I look up to then, fail and resit/repeat/get withdrawn. It made me feel inadequate. My bestie then, told me to think again because she wouldn't want me to fail out too. I entered med school with that fear. Las Las by God's grace I made a distinction. Since then, I've learnt to stay on my lane and do what is working for me. Don't let it bother you that people are failing. You are "you" and they are "them". Just make sure you find out why people are failing and work on yourself. |

Maxitomxane:It's very painful honestly. The age will hit you some times when you sit to reflect on where you're supposed to be at that age, especially if you compare yourself to your agemates who got MBBS admission right out of secondary school.(Its a profession that acknowledges hierarchy. Even if you are one million years older than your consultant or reg, that person is your chief and must be respected by you). I will still advice you to go for it despite your age. If not you may never feel fulfilled. (If that's what you really want) |

Maxitomxane:As a graduate of Anatomy(2014/2015 grad set) who is currently a 4th year MBBS student(2024/2025 grad set), I feel qualified to answer this question. Please do not abandon your Anatomy. Continue with it.(as far as school fees isn't an issue) But at same time, keep on writing JAMB with all of your heart. (Change institution to a school with lesser Competition) Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Life isn't predictable. Try jamb, try crossing over, try direct entry as well. It may tarry, but one will certainly click. Lastly, please do not give up. It may be disappointing and tough now. But if MBBS is what you really want, you will get it. Be strategic with your choices. In these videos, I talked about my JAMB struggle and how I was able to finally get MBBS Admission after writing JAMB 6 times.
