militarydoctor: Hi guys, Pls do medical schools abroad accept transfers from 300L?, I just cleared my 1st MB and I was hoping if I could continue somewhere else
In Medical School, one huge problem is usually seeing terrible results after putting in so much work.
It is a struggle most of us experience especially in preclinicals. I've talked about reasons why the grades do not reflect the efforts and what to do in each scenario.
HOW to make your EXAM score to REWARD your Hardwork + WHY do your RESULT not reflect your effort
SF123: Greetings to all the amazing personalities of this great forum. Age goes by what it`s called. I am 22 now. Does my age an impediment or a limiting factor still be considered because of not being in medical school by now; going by my classmates and those that i am ahead of in secondary school are now currently in 300l ,200l, 100l. Sporadically as per say some are through with ND, IT while some just gained admission to study one course or the other but not actually their dream course, although some are lucky because they got their heart desired course. My stand here is..is age an impeding factor in medical school using my self as a reference point?
Hello SF, I understand how you feel. People keep saying that age doesn't matter. But from experience, it could matter along the line! Just be sure that it's what you want for yourself. You will definitely get older. It's better to get older while doing what you want. If age is to 'restrict' you at all, you are your 'restriction'. Noone will refuse to give you MBBS admission because of your 'age'.
Anyway, incase you've not seen this series, I talked about my personal experience. I talked about the challenges of starting medical school as a second degree or at age 25+. I also gave advice to those in this category.
If you've been curious about how Nigerian MBBS Accreditation works, I've done the research for you. I've talked about what it takes for a medical school to be fully accredited by MDCN, NUC and Federal Ministry of Health. All the steps have been outlined and explained. Watch here:
lenghtinny: I just passed my part 1 MB examination.... I remember when this thread was my go to corner on NL when I used to scout for info 3-4 years ago and the early days of my preclinicals, so it's best I share this news with you guys
Mammangaddafi: Finally done with medical school... I wish those of us still in med school and those aspiring to get in the very best. May we all have reasons to celebrate!
EmpressC36: Good morning everyone, I’m actually not a medical student, I hope I won’t be banned, pls my friend and I wrote jamb this year this concluded one already, though I wrote on Saturday (rescheduled) but hers her result is out, our first choice is DELSU she got 205 and non indigene can she really get admission with her score? To study mass comm
Congratulations to you both. But sadly you can't find a Mass Com student or aspirant here. I will suggest you search for DELSU admission threads here and on Facebook as well. I wish you both all the best
chidoziekingsley: that's y I'm asking between unical and uniport. He wants to switch to uniport because of his peers but I saw that the departmental cut off mark for unical last year was 227. So b/w uniport and unical which would offer him admission if he can get up to 300 in post utme
Departmental cut off?? Except you mean ELDS. And it's definitely not for any of the SE SW or SS candidates
chidoziekingsley: Pls, I have a nephew who just finished the just concluded jamb exams, he scored 238(he chose unn and I'm sure no amount of luck in putme without money or connection will grant him admission) pls, which less competitive University do u advise me to tell him to change to when change of institution/course begins. He said some of his friends who wrote while awaiting last year where admitted to uniport with a score of 220. What are ur thoughts?
Honestly that score is really low(considering the competition). If he can afford a Private Medical School, that's where his admission is guaranteed. But for Public universities?? :-x
No harm in trying. Probably a university that would require post ume score. That will give him a fighting chance. He could go to the North as well.
Some Medics believe that discussion after exams make them feel bad and depressed, especially because it makes them see the mistakes they made in exam hall.
Some Medics believe that seeing their mistakes is a way to learn in medical school.
In this video I gave my own opinion about talking about the exam questions & answers immediately after leaving exam hall.
Keeon: Evening medics! I've been a silent follower (with another username), I promised to announce my presence when offered MBBS. As God would have it, UDUS gave me Medicine and Surgery in their just concluded admission process. Hoping to learn more from you guys. Peace!

Lordsagna: It's like unilag ain't forthcoming anymore .. same thing repeat itself over and over again, making me seeing myself as a failure. seeing people younger than me in medical school while I'm still here makes me sad .This time is gonna be different indeed, I need a federal institution that doesn't requires much Olevel with low tuition fees excluding UI . Please recommend schools for me please. I'm just frustrated here in engineering
