It's difficult to say actually. It all depends on number of people in F4 before you vs number of available F4 visas in a year.

I will recommend you check the visa bulletin, that link I shared monthly to watch the movement of the priority dates.

Yes but the visa bulletin has been stuck in March 07 for about a year now.

Interviews are being scheduled as usual for current cases as per priority dates.

Your priority date is not yet current for F4 visa. They will not schedule your interview until your priority date is current for visa issuance.

The priority date for F4 visa issuance is 22MAR07.

We Slept in a hotel on Victoria Island. Just 6 minutes away from the embassy.

Got to the embassy past 5 am.
We were not allowed to go inside until 6:15am. (Phones are not allowed but keys and wallets are)

V:O : Good morning and sorry for keeping you waiting.
Me: Good morning

V:O: Called out everyone’s name.
Who’s the principal applicant?
Me: I am

V:O: Who’s the principal petitioner?
Me: Sister ( we both laughed)

V:O: where does she live?
Me: I told him my sister’s address

V:O : What does she do?
Me: I told him

Checked through documents and photos and took fingerprints.
He handed a white paper and asked us to keep checking our mails for the issuance updates.
Visa approved.

May the God almighty grant all of us waiting for visas.
Amen

Please what is your PD and QD

Hopefully my response isn’t late and still helpful.

In most cases, US jobs isn’t crazy/freak about educational certificates like that of Naija. They’re more after how many years of experience you’ve got under your belt and what you can do.

While it’s very okay to study in their own schools, it’s never a deal breaker. It’s even easier and better to get a certificate from a UK based college than that of Naija because after employment offer, to verify education from these Naija schools na wahala.

Note: it may depend on the type of profession you’re looking at. But I know this for sure that in the Tech industry, they mostly don’t care. I’m a manager who recruit for my team and mostly don’t give a hoot about where you get your degree or your certifications from as far as you have good skills with hands on experience and do great in the technical interview, you’d get the role and make nice 6 figures.

IMO

Thank you so much for this contribution, it has made a whole difference. I will go for the MBA Healthcare Management in the UK. Many thanks

If you are working and earning a good income in Nigeria. Stay back, give it one more year! Use this year to prepare for gmat, write your essays and apply for your mba here in the USA and hold your admission. Aim for a part or full scholarship.

Also save aggressively. scale down and save as much as you can for a softer landing

It will be much easier to get a job with their education here than with the uk. Not impossible, but easier. Plus the network you will make in school will be invaluable to you.

That is the thing is both me and my spouse are jobless and out of business right now. The only available funds now is what I want to use to relocate to UK with my family, that way my spouse can work full time while I study, my spouse has a masters already from UK.

Nigeria is so unstable now to risk involving the funds into any business say for the next one year while waiting for NVC. But reading you comments about “easier to get a job with US education than that of UK” now i am wondering if it’s advisable for both of us to have UK certificates since we hope to move to the US finally OR waiting it out here in Nigeria would be the best.

Honestly I have no ideas. I’m April 2007 and dq in February 2020 and I’m not current yet! If anyone told me it will take this long, I will say impossible!
Although I currently live in the USA on a work visa.
Someone said there’s a chance of a retrogression in June. Who knows? So don’t put your life on hold, live it now and to the fullest.
That said for an mba, it’s better to wait and do it here, it will be a leg into the job market for you I think. Although my mba from the uk got me a very good job here I think there was an element of luck in it so who knows? Seek guidance from God and follow your heart

Many thanks Uchetobi once again, God bless. I think am definitely going to take the study option for now, to be sure am out of this Nigeria.

Please don’t be offended, how did you go about the US work permit? Did you get the job from UK after your MBA or something else?

Please I need a little guidance so I can make a profound decision. Please respond as quick as you can.

Thank you

From this forum dq dec 2019/Jan 2020

Thank you Uche for your consistent assistance here, I really appreciate. Please do you think there is any chance of interview this year for PD July 2007 and QD Dec. 2020?? I am so on a cross road!

I have admission to go and study MBA in the Uk this June, I started making the arrangements when I saw nothing was moving at the US embassy. Now am confused if am to continue waiting on NVC for my turn, since some people upto DQ Feb. 2020 got IV for interview recently.

Or I should go ahead with my study, maybe whenever i get the interview IV, I will come back for it??

Please all the experienced hands in the house, I need all your candid advise now.

Investment / Re: Eurobond by saddyn: 3:47pm On Apr 17, 2020
Well done guys, am just hearing about Eurobonds for the first time. Please permit me to ask a few newbie questions.

So am interested in the interest rate or profit one can get for investing. Someone said 6 to 7%, is that annually? That’s if I invest $3000k, I will get $270 after 180days or 12months. If that what it means it’s too poor or there is other incentive attached.

Secondly, at the end of 180days period you can take back your money easy?

Please someone put me right

You can fax to them via hellofax.com or photocopy and send via dhl or your preferred courier option. You need to do some reading on your own (doubt you have even checked wes website at all)

I just sent my Msc certificate via hellofax today, you can check previous page(s). I'll keep the house updated....

Thanks for the clarification. One more thing pls, what mailing address did you use to register on WES website. Your personal address or they will mail your report cic straight??

Thanks for your response

Hi Zandora,

Pls why did you say Wes is the best option for the evaluation. Are there not other ones that can be faster? Or WES increases one chances?

U'r welcome.

Yes you need to send your Master's degree certificate as well. No need to pay DHL, just send it as an attachment to your Uni and ask them to enclose it alongside your transcript to be sent to WES

Many thanks!!

Hi,

Just evaluate your MSC. Only your highest degree is needed for evaluation and UK school would respond sharp sharp.

You pay for WES then send the details with your WES reference number to your UK Uni. You can also attach your certificate to your Uni and ask them to help you send it alongside your transcript to WES.

Thanks for your wonderful response. Do I need to send my certificate to them also? I thought they require only transcript. And which of the certificates, that of Msc or degree?

Evaluate your highest level of education which is your MSC because you will earn more points with it. You dont need to bother with your Bachelors degree

Pls do u get different points from Wes when they assess your more than one degree.

That is I have a bsc and Msc, will I be scored based on both degrees or I should just send my Msc to WES?

Why do you need 5 years work experience?

3 years gives you the maximum points under Express Entry. Can you get reference letters/evidence of being employed for the work history that you listed above?

See the picture below for further guidance.

Hi @40manlappy, are u saying industrial training IT and NYSC work experience will be considered??
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by saddyn: 5:17pm On May 29, 2017
Pls I want to apply with my wife, do I need to have her credentials assessed by WES as well??

Also do I need to take the English test before sending my credentials for verification??

Regarding pof, do I need to have the required amount untouched in my bank account for 6months or I can still be transacting my business with account but have the required amount to show when needed.

Finally on work experience, how do they normal verify your work experience?

Pls forgive me if my questions sound dumb, but believe me they are important to me..

This thing is such a hard work! At one point you feel you have all the information and in a while you are all confused.

Pls the experts help a brother.

Thanks for your previous reponses, I really really appreciate.

Age - 25 points
Bachelors degree - 15 points
English - 20 points

Hi Bnimz, pls I need alittle clarification. I will be 33yrs by 20th October can I claim points for 32yrs? Considering the fact that I have not started the process yet. I don't know how long the whole thing will take.
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by saddyn: 3:30pm On May 29, 2017
jamson:

Like Bnimz pointed out, the thread is crawling with people and info about engineers who did not claim work experience. Just find time and read through and get all the answers to your questions.

You may approach EA with your IT, NYSC and/or internship experience for the purpose of assessment only and years of experience will not be claimed. That means you must find other means to make up for the point not claimed on work experience. Getting 20 points in English test is what most of us here used to augment for the unclaimed work points.

Please note that EA is the only assessing body that gives the opportunity to be assessed with no work experience.

Thank u very much my brother for this piece of info. God will bless u.

If I understand u completely, I should not include any of my work experience and concentrate on the English test?

What about my banking experience? That I was paid weekly and the pay slips sent to me by email. Or I should neglect that as well and focus on the English test?

Thanks for throwing more light!

Speaking of work experience, for someone with a chemical engineering degree, and worked as piping engineer for 3 years in an oil servicing firm. We were not given payslips nor tax clearance, what other options am I left with.

Now this would be false information...

You didn't specify which branch of Engineering you had your BACHELORS in..... They don't really reckon with masters...

In addition, you don't need work experience as an engineer.. Jamson didn't use his, I didn't, Mctowel01 didn't, Funkyjo didn't, Iceberg54 didn't... To name a few.

Thank you for this information! I have B.Eng in Agric Engineering and Msc in Mechanical Engineering.

pls explain a little bit more on "u don't need work experience as an engineer"

I understand. However, nobody can convince you.... Its necessary for you to do your own research and compare with your unique circumstances...
If it helps, from my research before jumping feet first into this, I was only able to determine three reasons that guarantee rejection..
1. False/Falsified documentation
2. HIV/AIDS
3. A police character problem/Conviction/Terrorism

If you don't have any of these issues, you're as fine as anybody else that has gotten the visa..

Ok noted thanks for that info!!
