When Atiku made a call recently, requesting for opposition parties to unite in order to stop Nigeria's decent to one party state, I laughed. I didn't find Atiku's request ridiculous because it lacks merit but the hidden agenda behind it.

Atiku has realized that PDP and LP going into election in 2027 against Tinubu and APC's rigging will be an effort in futility, so he is hoping that Obi and others will withdraw for him in the so-called coalition.

The question is, why is Atiku & some Northern Muslims fooling himself?

Atiku is not only greedy, but also shortsighted, impatient and arrogant. This man would have most likely become president in 2007 if only he didn't have those baggages I listed above. He was so disloyal to his boss Obasanjo, that he constantly planned and sabotaged him severally. In return, Obasanjo overlooked him as a successor and also vowed to stop his presidential ambition in future. When Goodluck Jonathan was about going for second tenure, which if he had completed it, presidency would have returned to North and Atiku would have clinched the ticket in 2015. What did Atiku do? He naively and arrogantly sabotaged Jonathan and teamed up with Buhari who was in APC to destroy Jonathan's chances. If Atiku wasn't so unfortunate, he would have known that Buhari would rule for 8 years & there was no way another Northerner would succeed him.

Today, instead of giving up and accepting he blew up his chances due to his tomfoolery, he is once again on a wild goose chase.

The coalition for 2027 is a good idea, but it must have Obi as its flagbearer. Obi is the most popular politician in Nigeria today. He actually won the 2023 election but was rigged out. However, if North decides to give Obi full backing in 2027, and he gets block votes in the SE and SS, there is nothing Tinubu can do to stop him. Also, the national assembly must ensure that INEC becomes truly independent before 2027.

Anything outside of these will hand Tinubu straight 8 years and I doubt if North will ever recover from the damage of Tinubu's treacherous policies.

Peter Obi won the election but APC as a ruling party isn't ready to hand over to opposition, Buhari wasn't ready for that because those around him, especially his wife Aisha Buhari warned him of the consequences of allowing power go back to opposition, which brought Buhari's senses back.


The election was rigged in favour of Tinubu the candidate of the ruling party and it was with the backing of President Buhari.


2023 Presidential election was not based on who won the legitimate votes but who the incumbent President and his Presidency wanted to take over from them. Even if Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, Shekarau, G5 Governors and all PDP heavyweights stayed together and contested against Tinubu the APC flagbearer, INEC would have still rigged it in favour of Tinubu even if PDP win all polling units.

The political leaders of Northern Nigeria made a choice years ago, albeit a very wrong one. They refused to invest in education, a key factor in enduring growth. They wanted to continue using their uneducated hordes to for their selfish interests but they forgot that free oil money will end one day. Today, oil earnings is no longer enough. They've suddenly found themselves in a difficult situation.

I agree that Tinubu showed guts against North but saying he made Lagos fifth biggest economy or whatever is pure nonsense. Tinubu only ruled Lagos between 1999 and 2007. There wasn't anything tangible on ground to show for those years. It's absurd to credit everything that happened in Lagos between 1999 to 2023 to Tinubu. The only major thing Tinubu did in Lagos is to make himself an emperor of sorts. With almost everything used by 200 million people domiciled in Lagos, even a dumbo will still rule the state and he would appear like he is a genius.

Saying that Peter Obi is a coward is laughable. A coward can't have the guts to deny moneybags and opposition who were in control of the house of assembly the opportunity to steal. A coward can't abandon a party like PDP to join an unknown party like LP and took them to win election! You've been too oppressed by politicians to the extent you developed Stockholm syndrome. Again, without Peter Obi, it would have been extremely difficult for Tinubu to emerge. Because the entire East would have gone with North and such aliance would be too difficult to rig out.

In 2027, I would rather support Tinubu than support a Northern presidential candidate regardless. Except of course, they agree to back Peter Obi as president.

Being in full control of Lagos has made things very easy for Tinubu. Lagos by virtue of being the base of our economy, is the new "oil". Control Lagos, and you will be in control of Nigeria to an extent.

Except Lagos influence is drastically reduced, Yorubas may end up becoming the new "Fulanis" in the emerging Nigeria.

Decentralize everything in Lagos and ensure they're distributed to other regions like Abuja, P.H, Kano, Enugu, Kaduna, Onitsha etc. Tinubu won't be where he is today, if not for Lagos.

Nah, forget it. The emergence of Peter Obi has destroyed any idea of offering SE VP slot. Obi is now bigger than most Northern politicians now, if not all of them. So, who exactly will he be VP to? Atiku, Kwankwaso or El Rufai?

Secondly, even if Obi doesn't mind, Obidient movement won't even allow it. Again, should Obi decide to contest again in 2027, which he has already stated he would, then it's all over for the North, except they agree to back him unanimously.

North can't present a candidate that can win presidential election without having either the East or West fully behind them. With Tinubu contesting, the West is ruled out for them. With Obi contesting also, the East is ruled out too. Should they go for a SS man, they won't be able to galvanize the much needed block votes to challenge an incumbent. Also, with Obi contesting, SS will still give him huge votes regardless of whether North has a SS man as VP.

Therefore, the two options left for North is to back Peter Obi unanimously in 2027 or they support Tinubu. Difficult choices for them. 8 years of Tinubu will do terrible & irreversible damage to North. Supporting Obi may also mean presidency remaining in South for 16 years. They really miscalculated in backing Tinubu in 2023.
