First of all, President Idris Deby was not at the war front. He had visited them many days earlier after the deadly attack on Chadian soldiers by Boko Haram & ISWAP.

Secondly, there the fight was on Chadian Territory and the supposed ammunition dump was also on Chadian Chadian Territory.
