EzeAro: Anyway I blame Nnamdi Kanu and his Ipob army for this nonsense, leave these people alone and focus ONLY on the Igbo nation in the SE/SS una no go gree.. now the result is useless and irrelevant minority groups whom all combined together can't even measure up to 1/10th of the human resources and achievements of just one autonomous LGA in the East dey get mouth to talk and insult Igbos . Who when knows the Ijaw globally for anything useful besides militancy, cultism, drinking ogogoro all day and leaving in environmentally biodegradable swamps? when I tell Igbos to wake up and stop this "oh he's my brother, he's my Nwanne from the Niger delta, we are one..." nonsense they won't listen. There's nothing like SE/SS, yeah maybe we there's been some political alliances between both regions for years based on bloc voting patterns, intermarriages etc but we are not ONE, the Igbo nation and the non-Igbo groups of the so called South South are completely distinct people with only some bond in history and trading. Now the hands of Igbos have been forced to engage some inconsequential minority misnomers on here , on top wetin na? if only we were politically sagacious and sound enough, we should be making alliances with the other major tribes and play the game at the bigger level with the bigger boys, see how the Northerners dey use the Niger Delta oil to enrich themselves in Abuja and call the bluffs of the entire South... now thays how big boys roll? take the resources of the dumb minorities and build your wealth, if they talk rubbish you shut them down! that's why the so called "we the South South" cowards will never talk sh*t to the North who control their resources, because those ones no even send them. I guess it's a case of over-familiarity breeding contempt in the SE/SS relationship dynamic.
Henceforth that SE/SS nonsense has to stop, dem no be our level on any indices, the old Eastern region is now defunct so we share absolutely nothing in common with these people besides been neighbors. Our interest now should be to stop alienating our Igboid kith and kin in the SS, we need to reach out more to them and given them a sense to belonging in the greater Igbo nation (except a few lost ones like the Ikwerre, those ones are a lost cause). Nnamdi Kanu and his Ipob clowns should re-orientate their Biafran concept and stop disgracing Ndigbo with this weird obsession with none-Igbos. In the politics and polity of Nigeria today, it's all man for himself.
Enough is Enough for the wise. Reality check, i am surprised. |

RuggedSniper: ^^^NOTE: As of 1872 when Jaja and his followers fled from Bonny Island for Ibibioland, and the Ibibio land owners gave him permission to stay (Opobo is originally known as Ikot Abasi. Opobo roots is made up of Ibibio, Ijaw and some freed Ibo slaves like Jaja who had undergone compulsory Bonny-Ijaw initiation ceremonies to become naturalised Ijaws). A powerful Bonny war expedition of 1872 almost wiped out Jaja but for the assistance of his European trader friends who used their weapons to save Jaja, who was later kicked out by the same British in 1887... 15 years later after escaping from Bonny (for his arrogance, monopoly of trade, brutality and killings of Annangs and other upriver ethnicities who were prevented from trading with the British/Europeans via the upmarkets/Imo river route by Jaja). In Maxwell Enemuo's fantastic 2-part documentary on NTA (spanning live interviews he had with people from the 1980s to the 2000s) that I saw 5 years ago, it showed the Umuduruoha clan of Amaigbo in Imo the original place Jaja was born and captured as a 12-year-old slave. Jaja actually built a thatched house in Amaigbo when he visited from Opobo after 1872. More shocking, Jaja's father was a notorious SLAVE TRADER and historic oral accounts have it from Jaja's descendants that it was Jaja's Ibo biological father who sold him into slavery... Although Walter Ofonagoro who is also from Amaigbo denied it though he agreed that Jaja's father truly sold people as slaves... My jaws nearly hit the floor! Maxwell with his video cameras and team in a canoe filmed the Imo river slave route that the notorious Aro/Ohafia/Mbam slave dealers and religious order of Abia used to bring thousands of Ibo slaves from the Ibo interior to be soId to Ijaw middlemen who then resold them to white slave dealers or used them for domestic slave work under different influencial canoe houses in Bonny, Brass and other Kalabari-Ijaw locations. In the advanced 1920s-1970s history books that I've read on Nigerian, Ijaw and Bonny history, you CANNOT become an Amanyanabo in Bonny for instance, if you are a slave, a former slave like Jaja, or even a freeborn, EXCEPT those from royal families. How Jaja, an Ijawnised former slave in Bonny became an emergency self-acclaimed Amanyanabo or king in Opobo (an integral part of Ikot Abasi of the Ibibios in Akwa Ibom State, before Opobo was placed in Rivers Stake in the 1970s) confounds me. The British archival documents only say Jaja of Opobo is a middleman chief! Cc: PHijo, TonyeBarcanista, Lalasticlala, Mynd44 quite revealing |

Instead of minding your business, when it starts you will say Ijaw people have started. when Asari threaten nnamdi kanu, Ohaneze the igbo apex group had to apologize and beg Asari to forgive Kanu. Only Asari they are jittery, talk less of other Niger delta strongmen. |

OfoIgbo: We will keep bringing in the Niger delta into our issues, afterall millions of Igbo-speaking people are Niger deltans. You can blame Gowon for that. When he was placing Ndoni lands, Ndoki lands, Etche lands e.t.c in the Niger Delta, he was sowing the seeds of Igbos still having a huge interest in the Niger delta. You have been reading from our sisters NwanyiOgwashi and Amarabae, and haven't you realised that their affinities and passions lie with their siblings in the SE. And you think any force on earth can get their brothers and sisters in the SE not to see them as fellow Igbos?
For as long as Igbo-speaking people still remain in the SS, who btw are probably the largest ethnic unit in the political Niger Delta, Igbos in the SE will keep an eye on what goes on in the Niger Delta. When you put together the Aniomas, Etches, Ikwerres, Ndokis, Ndonis, Egbemas, e.t.c. you have a sizeable population of Igbo-speaking people, and you cannot expect the SE not to take notice.
I'm sure by now you may have been aware of how Ikwerres connived with SE Igbos (Zik, Ebitu Ukiwe and others) to create the modern Rivers state, which is why Igbo-speaking people have had the chance of smelling the government house in that state. It's all a part of what we are talking about.
Just to reiterate what I wrote some days ago, the Ndoki land of Ubani (Bonny) will never be Igbani-owned. Wikipedia will not help you in the day of reckoning lies! Lies! Rivers state was created in 1967 by Gowon after years of agitation for it by Harold Dappa Biriye, melford Okilo,GkJ Amachree, etc and the first military governor is HRM Diete spiff an Ijaw king from Brass . Okilo an ijaw man became the first civilian governor in 1979. cc: phijo come and see |

PHijo: First things first, Port Harcourt is my state capital. Secondly dem no born that Ikwerre man wey wan born me alive well! No mortal man can burn me or do me any harm.
Magnus Abe is not an Eleme man, stop talking about issues you know nothing about.
Magnus Abe is not qualified to tell any of us Ijaw history. He is not Ijaw, he is not from Bonny, he his not an historian by training.
Ndoki. Is Ijaw, I won't tell you the name in full. You spin masters are looking for clues to promote your expansionist agenda. As Ijaw people we are firm and resolute in our resolve to preserve our history and heritage.
Finally, it is no coincidence that from Bonny in Rivers state to Brass in Bayelsa state, we call our monarchs Amayanabo. Please leave us alone! You've caused enough trouble already. Even Ikwerre people who share linguistic ties with you are ashamed to share the same identity with you. Let Ijaw people be abeg! don't mind them. Their obsession with Niger Deltans is legendary. |

PHijo: Your attempts at rewriting history won't work! Chief Harold Dappa Biriye, God bless his soul. The grand Bonny kingdom, the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region needs to do more in remembrance of him. He was a visionary, he saw the Igbo problem long before the rest of the society caught up with it.
The sad thing is, like your grandfathers and fathers, there is no remorse in you for the crimes you committed. Today Nnamdi Kanu makes it known to anyone who cares to listen that you will adopt same human rights abuse methods.
You keep on living in denial! Willinks report encompassed Ijaws in both the Eastern and Western region. Why is it that the Igbo were strongly against a region for the Ijaw? Willinks admitted that the Ijaws had genuine concerns due to their peculiar nature.
To their credit, the resistance from Awolowo's action group was indifferent. Azikiwe was the one who forcefully opposed Biriye.
That eventually led to Biriye leaving the NCNC to form the NDC. lucidly said bro, i am glad you understand these things. It is time for Niger deltans to debunk the lies of these hypocrites. |

tatatar: You're not from the SE indeed Eze You guys should stop embarrassing yourselves. Check this out! :
Akwa Ibom- the largest oil producer with 31.4% (504,000 BPD) Delta – 21.56% (346,000 BPD) Rivers – 21.43% (344,000 BPD) Bayelsa – 18.07% (290,000 BPD) Ondo – 3.74% (60,000 BPD) Lagos – 2.64% (40,000 BPD) Edo – 2.06% (33,000 BPD) Imo-1.06 % (17,000 BPD) Abia-0.68% (11,000 BPD)

UdechiHD: Did the Ijaw nation send Boro work? How many Ijaws supported him during his 3 days revolution? The Oloibiri he handed over to Hausa/Yoruba and other Ijaw land during the civil war, how are they faring? How was Boro rewarded by Nigeria? You guys must always look for ways to lump Igbos into your foolishness. did the Niger deltans send ojukwu to declare secession from Nigeria? Whose ethnic group did he consult before the war? Have you forgotten that in 1966, the igbos were in control of the FG. The igbos were happy when Aguiyi ironsi and ojukwu were killing the Niger deltans in kaiama in old Rivers province. Isaac boro was arrested and sentenced to death by Ironsi. As fate will have it, Ironsi died before Boro's execution date and he was released by Gowon to fight the biafran soldiers out of Rivers state. Boro's second in command during the 12 day face off Owonari is alive today to tell the story. |
