Sammy07: Ode. You don't know my state more than myself. Deputy Governor of Ondo state is Hon (Barr) Ajayi Agboola Alfred. He married an Ondo girl. He's from Kiribo in Ese Odo local government.
Western Apoi tribe of the Ijaw people live in Ondo State, Nigeria. The tribe (also called Ijaw Apoi or Apoi) consists of nine settlements: Igbobini, Ojuala, Ikpoke, Inikorogha, Oboro, Shabomi, Igbotu, Kiribo and Gbekebo. The Apoi inhabited higher ground than most of the other Ijaw tribes. They speak the Yoruba language as they no longer speak the Ijaw language . They are bordered to the north by the Ikale and to the west by the Ilaje. The clan also shares border with the Arogbo Ijaw to the south and the Furupagha Ijaw to the east across the Siloko River.
What's your next statement I told you earlier that they have been Yorubanized. Go and speak Ijaw to him if he'll understand Cc: Sunshineg5 hahaha, yet they have an Ijaw king. What language does the agadagba speak? |

Ojukwu nominate his friends frank opigo, philip effiong, etc to form the secession government. What he failed to do is this: ojukwu should have hold a meeting with the minorities and seek their opinion with regards to secession. Alas! He did not. The Niger deltans were surprised when he declared a secession from Nigeria on the 30th may 1967. Those ethnic groups you mentioned have nothing to do with biafra. Ibibio people's union rejected Biafra. Ijaw youth council rejected biafra. Ogbakor ikwerre rejected biafra. MOSOP(ogoni) rejected biafra. Urhobo progress union rejected biafra. Isoko development union rejected biafra. Even your close neigbour Ndi Anioma rejected biafra. In sum, Niger deltans have clearly rejected your secessionist association. |

How did they fly from Delta Coastal areas to Lagos?
For avoidance of doubt, Ondo coast line to Ogun to parts of Lagos is inhabited by Ilajes and Ijebu
And a decent portion of Delta coastline was inhabited by ijebu and Ilaje communities who now call themselves Ishekiri. ijaws also inhabit some areas in ondo state e.g Ese odo LGA. Even the deputy governor of ondo state is ijaw. |

Ojukwu told his igbo brothers never to seek biafra again, Saro wiwa told his fellow ogonis and oppressed minorities to keep on the fight. to ojukwu, the igbos are comfortable in nigeria, but to saro wiwa, minorities can never be comfortable in nigeria. so, onbehave of saro wiwa, i would say to ojukwu and his brothers "welcome to nigeria". Somebody will say "we need former eastern region, nigeria is a creation of the british" the question is who created the eastern region?, this same ojukwu came back from exile and joined the ruling party NPN controlled by Shagari. He contested for a senatorial position in this same Nigeria he fought against. Unfortunately he lost the election. He also contested for the position of president of Nigeria. Ken asked question, "why shld u take oil from Ogoni land to developed other places like lagos, abuja, enugu, without any project sited in Ogoni"? 'why do u chosed to give jobs to people outside not even up to 0.2% of the shell workforce were ogonis?. these question could not be answered by any of the useless so called 3 majority groups. instead they resort to blackmail. for those that are ranting ken betrayed biafra, ken goodmorning ,my question is, what stops they igbos from joining ken to fight off what they now say is a common enermy (hausa fulani) if all there is a single common enermy? of couse they would never want minority to lead and they igbos now they followers. Isaac Boro asked the then corrupt eastern government and federal government that same two questions, same faith visited him eastern governmenet lead by their corrupt igbo leaders arrested him. now i ask the question, who stops they igbos from joining the ijaws to fight off this so called commom enermy? no ijaws can lead and they follow. summary of this is that they strugle to free from this greedy corrupt wazobia must continue till total libretion of they minority groups especially in southern nigeria and middle belt. lucidly said bro, i am glad you understand these things. humilitypays: My dear sister, I understand your anger, you have the right to be angry with my words but what I said is how many or majority of Niger Delta minority tribes feel about Igbos; they always feel Igbos are the major enemy just because Aguiyi Ironsi stopped Adaka Boro from making a move to secede from Nigeria....of course any President will make effort to stop secessionist all over the world. That is why I don't blame Buhari for his clamp down on IPOB, I only blame him for unleasing Nigerian armed soldiers to kill unarmed IPOB and non IPOB protesters if not, Buhari did no wrong stopping secessionists in his tenure cos its an insult to any sitting President.
But my anger with Niger Delta minority tribes is most of them are shallow in thinking to believe an Igbo man who does not wait for revenue from Abuja to be their biggest enemy in Nigeria. An Igbo man who has never ruled Nigeria since 1966, isn't that madness
You talked about 2nd Niger Bridge or whatever being built with Niger Delta crude oil, have you forgotten that Southeast also have crude oil being mined even as we speak in Imo State and Abia states
Southeast crude oil deposits may not be as huge as the ones in Niger Delta based on today statistics from Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba controlled federal government bodies and secret military enshrined policies to impoverish Igbo states and suppress Igbos from making further move for secession after the end of the civil war in 1970, but still if the crude oil deposits in the Southeast as falsely under-reported by Nigerian government of today is left for Southeast region alone to make use of, it is more than enough for Southeast development; where it becomes small is when it is to be shared by the whole Nigeria stretching from south to north.
Let me enlighten you so you don't join others in the bandwagon, one month crude oil revenue from Shell and Adax Petroleum exploration in Uguta Lake, Uguta Imo State alone will fix 2nd Niger Bridge and many other Southeast roads, so face your real enemies - the north!
My other anger with today Niger Delta people is their quickness to attack and condemn Biafra agitation, instead of them to remain quiet or even use the opportunity to also agitate for their own Niger Delta nation where they can have total control of their so called crude oil.
And you called Igbo businesses spare parts business and I laugh, oh you think only the Igbos selling spare parts and petty trading you see all over Nigeria are the only Igbo business men It will shock you to discover that majority of the manufacturing and production plants in Nigeria are owned by Igbos, forget Aliko Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga bla bla bla...they are just single individuals making wave in a whole tribe....in Igbo land, in my community alone, we have so many industrialists who own manufacturing plants and factories producing the things you and I make use of everyday.......maybe you are not aware that the owner of the biggest manufacturer of the biscuits you, your kids and kids all over Nigeria eat everyday is an Igbo man.....what about the hot drinks almost every poor Nigerian man, drivers, conductors, etc drink on daily basis.....owned by Igbo man, where do I start or stop Igbo businesses are far beyond the spare parts traders, building material traders, and artisans you see all over Nigeria and beyond, Igbos are also key players in industrialisation and production even beyond Nigeria.
My little self even own a small production plant I started shortly after NYSC....and you are there talking spare parts biz, and even the spare parts dealers, most of them will end up as automobile assembling plants and owners of other business outfits, you really don't know the entrepreneurial spirit of an average Igbo man sha, no wahala, ignorance is allowed if you have all these things then stick to your south east and stop insulting the Niger deltans. They are not interested and they don't need to allign with SE |

What Ojukwu should have done is to meet with the leaders and elder statemen of the minorities in Eastern region and seek their opinion with regards to secession from Nigeria. aniomafirstson: Education Generally Deltans are one of the most educated minded people in the whole of Southern Nigeria. But in this regard we have to give it to the Aniomas as there is no family from that area without someone with a masters or PhD degree.
Aniomas were among the first educated people in Southern Nigeria by virtue of Onitsha. Most Aniomas at that time attended schools like Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, which was established in 1925. St. Thomas College, Ibusa (1928) St. Charles College, Onitsha (1929)
Whereas their urhobo counterpart got exposed to education in the early 1940s. The first school in urhobo land was Urhobo College, Effurun which was established in 1946.
Aniomas boast of professors like Obi Prof Joseph Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba. Professor Emmanuel Nwanze, former VC of uniben. Etc.
Also we can't leave out the fact that the famous Olaudah Equaino the first black man to write a book hailed from Ashaka in Anioma.
Political relevance Anioma also trumps in this aspect as far as Nigeria is concerned. They have held sensitive positions in the past. They boast of notable names like Dennis osadebe who was the first premier of the Midwestern region and he was also the leader of the movement to create the Mid-Western region during the Nigerian First Republic. He also held the position of the Senate president from 1960 to 1963.
We should not forget Ngozi okonjo iweala who i describe as the most powerful black woman in today's world. You can check Wikipedia for her CV. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngozi_Okonjo-Iweala
Even in this current regime they hold the most posts.
Godwin emefiele holds the position of the governor of central bank of Nigeria. His deputy also hails from Anioma. That's mad ass political relevance
Human capital development There is a reason why the Managing Directors of most firms and organisations hail from Anioma. Aniomas control about 50% of the banking and finance sector in Nigeria.
IGR and GDP It is Crystal clear that the urhobos beat the Aniomas in this aspect
Industrialization Urhobo 60% Anioma 40%
Warri is currently more industrialized than Asaba although Asaba is fastly catching up. Urhobo boast of towns like ughelli, sapele, Abraka whereas Aniomas boast of towns like Agbor, kwale, obiaruku. Asaba is also expanding into towns like ibuzo and okpanam. Don't forget most Anambra indigenes now build houses in places like Asaba. This might give Anioma an edge in the future as both Asaba and onitsha are twin cities.
Entertainment Urhobo 50% Anioma 50%
Urhobos are mainly found in the comedy part of the entertainment industry. They have produced comedy greats like I go dye, I go save, Ali baba, Akpororo etc...Warri is the home of comedy in Nigeria.
Aniomas are mainly found in the Nollywood area Of entertainment. They have produced veterans like Enebeli elubuwa, Emeka ossai, Francis odega etc... Also asaba is the home of Nollywood.
Sports Anioma 65% Urhobo 35%
Anioma lead by a wide margin. It is rumored that people from that area churn out the most athletes in Nigeria. They have produced greats like Stephen keshi: Former captain of the super eagles Took Togo to their first world cup The second person to win the afcon as a player and as a coach The first black man to take a country past the group stage of the world cup etc
Sunday oliseh Jay Jay okocha Nduka ugbade Joel obi Wilfred Ndidi Chidi odiah etc
Urhobos are also not lacking in this area as they have produced talents like blessing okagbare, Augustine Eguavoen, oghenekaro etebo, Tammy Abraham etc.
All in all the two groups are wonderful and unique people but we just have to give it to the Aniomas. The amount of the human resources from that area is mind blowing. Too many great brains from that region.
A region that produced the largest ground troops during the civil war. A region that produced warlords like Joe achuzia, Nzeogwu, onwuatuegwu, okwechime, Albert okonkwo etc A region that produced wonderful brains like Tony elumelu, Jim ovia, Nduka obaigbena, Benedict Peters, Austin avuru ojunekwu, Pat utomi, Ibe kachikwu etc is not to be joked with. Tammy Abraham is Ijaw full name : Tamaraebi Abraham |
