ken4jj: My Tecno N3 phone is always having 'memory full,plz free memory' msg to the extent i can no longer get messages due to memory issue. I have deleted so many messages and other things yet it keeps on coming. my internal memory is still full and i dont know what else to delete.

Kingston is ok but it's kind of rare in market these days. Whichever one you buy, insert it in an HTC phone, if it is supported, it means it will be fine.

HTC Android devices normally reject any memory card that has the tendency of corruption.

Joecares: Please iv been unable to install bbm on my techno phantom pad. It behave like its installing but atlast I won't. Its like the ones I downloaded even on playstore aren't compatible. Dats the request boss.

If the Pad is rooted, download Mobigenie on the Pad then, try to install BBM from Mobogenie.

Better yet, you can install BBM apk file on the Pad using Command Prompt on your Windows PC.

Are you using custom ROM on the phone?
If you're using custom ROM on the phone, this problem might be caused by a bug in the ROM and flashing another ROM is your solution.

If it's a stock ROM that is still on the phone, it's an hardware problem. Consult your hardware engineer.

JustCare: can formatting do?

Yes. To a level. If you format the Memory card, it will work but when it gets to that level, it will repeat the same error.

JustCare: please someone should enlighten me... my tablet don't play some video files even when same formats of such videos do play... few don't play, always given me an error message : video can't be played.
This happens virtually in all the players including Mx player and Vlc beta version.

Change your SD Card. The SD Card is most likely corrupted.

My little girl touched my allwinner A13 tablet and it was loading none stop, so i switched it off and restart it but its not booting pass the android logo. This is likely an hardware problem on the phone since the phone works fine on 2G. Consult your hardware engineer.

If you still have stock ROM on the phone, it might be an hardware problem.

Boot the phone to recovery and wipe cache.

For permanent solution:
Factory reset the phone then, follow the instructions on the previous link to set your memory card as the default install location.

I want to root and use a custom rom on it .. Then update to 4.4 cos the version i'm on is 4.1.2 OR does installing a custom erases the need to update to 4.4?

Now, before rooting i should download clockwordmod and install so i can recover in the event of bricking right?

The ROM on the phone is what determines maybe it is 4.1, 4.2 or 4.4

To upgrade the phone, root the phone, flash custom recovery on it then download a 4.4 ROM (IF AVAILABLE) for it and flash it on the phone.

CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM:
It is the ROM that causes this kind of problem.

SOLUTION:
Flash another ROM on the phone or wait till the bug that causes the wifi problem is fixed by the developer.

Alternatively, you could factory reset the phone -this is not a sure solution anyways.

@The Memory (SD Card): Check that the applications using the memory card are not set to use the phone's inbuilt memory. Also, check that the memory card is not empty. Some meory cards are empty/corrupted even when newly bought.

@the Update: You are most likely checking for the update via the OTA (Over the Air) update settings. The phone would always tell you that you are using the latest update for as long as no new update is made available for the phone by the manufactural.

To upgrade the phone, you need to search for an upgraded ROM for that phone on Google e.g Android 4.4 for HTC Sensation.

Lots of results would be presented to you.

If the phone is already rooted and has android 4.XX on it, download 4EX recovery control. With that, you can safely flash a custom recovery on your android device then, do your backup.

Also with that, you can flash another ROM.

Better yet, you can download a ported CWM recovery for the Gionee P4 from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wp9anbz1u9yo3va/recovery.img

Then, download recovery tools or mobile uncle from playstore and use either of them to flash the recovery you downloaded from the link above on the phone.

Though, I have never rooted the phone without PC, but you can try framaroot.apk, baiduroot.apk or rootme.apk especially; rootme.apk, it is especially good for 2.XX androids.

profjones: @dos wu cn help. i tried using rom manager to backup my gionee p4. bt as i was trying to install clockworkmod recovery, it sayz 'unsupported device'. abeg make una yarn me aw una take backup una own. fanx in advance as i wait for ya replies.

ClockWorkMod currently has no recovery.img file for the Gionee P4. However, You can use Terminal to backup the whole ROM but for what purpose do you to do the backup?

I might suggest a better method for you.

I suggest you don't try to do it by yourself to avoid bricking your phone. Give it to an engineer. If you are around Lagos, I can as well do it for you (for a token amount o).

It will correct your phone's problem and also upgrade the phone depending on the ROM you flashed on it.

Read the article in the link I direct you to. ROM is not an app though, you will need to download it.

In android, the ROM contains virtually, all the codes and data files that make up android OS. Each Android device has its own ROM image that contains files and codes needed to boot the device up and run Android on it.

The ROM also contains a GUI (graphical user interface), required and useful applications, support files for those applications and the kernel which together make the experience of an Android device beautiful.
