When Daudu, the defense council questioned the
jurisdiction of the court, the prosecution counsel
argued that.....
"according to section 2 of the Administration of
Justice Act, 2015, the matter could be heard
alongside any preliminary objection regarding the
tribunal’s jurisdiction"
The new law was signed by former President
Goodluck Jonathan in March 2015, as part of a
major reform of Nigeria’s criminal justice system.
The Act is expected to speed up corruption cases
before the courts, by dealing with issues of
preliminary objections, adjournments, and
jurisdiction.
The law says such objections must be addressed
by the courts concurrently with the corruption
charge, unlike the past when interlocutory
injunctions could go to the Supreme Court and
return, before the main trial begins. |

Nigerians are loosing jobs instead of their promised employments during electioneering campaigns by Buhari. International investors are packing out of the country. What is going on? A bailout, boosts economy. what happened to the money? Is Nigerians no more hard hustlers they are noted for? Why is their president flying everywhere while Boko Haram are having field day killing the innocents? Hunger are visible at the faces of 99% of Nigerians. God have mercy! It's when people are alive they will have power to fight even corruption which is their secondary enemy. Oh! My God! Their current president is administratively deficient. They were earlier advised during election but majority refused to get it out of ethnic and religious sentiments. Is this what will be befalling the most populous black nation in the world for the next 41 months? This is unbecoming of a patriotic leader leaving his war ravaged people and will be jetting international world ignoring to pay attention or a simple visit to his internally displaced persons aka (IDP) who were bombed under his watch last friday. The world are laughing. Buhari, Jonathan has gone but Boko Haram are still killing my people even internally. My people are loosing jobs instead of creating one for them. President Obama started adding jobs barely a month he resumed at White House. Rather, former Investors in Nigeria are living instead of new ones coming to energize the country. There's no economic team yet after 3 months in an office you've been before; and have agitated returning back to it since about 30 years. I'm of the conclusion Mr. Buhari, you are not qualify technically to pilot the affairs of a nation like Nigeria. It's not a must as a former soldier that served our nation as a result, Nigerians must compensate you to be a president. We need to meet the challenges this generation is confronted with to compete with the rest of the world which currently eludes you. For instance, as a one who have been in forefront of Nigeria government for awhile, if you don't know good Nigerians to work with, at your age and with all yours experiences both in the military and as a governor and also a head of state of Nigeria. ..then give yourself a name not me will do it for you nor other Nigerians. I rest my case fellow compatriots. Steve Abel |
Truth is called distraction, APC should tell Nigerian's what they have for them and stop pointing fingers to their opponent. They have forgot what they did to GEJ. The Economy of our nation state is gradually sinking down. Whatever we are enjoying today is the achievements of the past governance. Let PMB introduce his economic policy and stop chasing looted money only from his opponents. Please keep sentiments apart and do what you have promised us. Election is over show us ur blue prints. You are not facing any electoral suit as to say. Please wake up and stop complaining. God bless Nigeria. |

Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), the establishment vested with the responsibility of managing the Nigeria Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF), lamented yesterday that the dwindling oil revenue had affected contribution to the fund drastically. The managing director and chief executive officer of the Fund, Uche Orji, who stated this after briefing President Mohammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, lamented that apart from the initial $1billion which was a take-off contribution from the government, the Authority had not received any other money. He revealed, however, that the Fund had made a profit of N15.7billion in the last one year, and observed that to attract more funds, the Authority had engaged the services of the African Finance Cooperation which would advise it accordingly. Orji said, “We met with the president to brief him on the activities and the investments of the NSIA. We also discussed the commitment of the NSIA on the Second Niger Bridge, health care, agriculture and power. We also sought his support where his intervention is required and it was a successful meeting with the president. “The government gave us $1billion, which is the only contribution we have received, and we made N15.7billion profit last year from the contribution. We haven’t got additional funding from government but the fund is structured in a way that it can go through hard times. “We all know that the oil price is volatile – it comes up and goes down – but the fund is structured in such a way that it can remain continuously profitable. “We also discussed potential infrastructure investments that can be made, but when the time is right the president can make that known.” The MD revealed that the SWF was supposed to be funded when the oil price is above benchmark, adding that since the oil price is presently below the benchmark, it would be meaningless for the government to make any contributions now. “But they are other ways to support the fund which we have discussed with the president, but when the time is ripe, that will be made known by the president’s spokesperson. http://leadership.ng/news/459888/dwindling-oil-re venue-affecting-swf-nsia |
A Nigerian indigenous exploration and production oil firm and the operator of the Otakikpo Marginal Field, Green Energy International Ltd (GEIL), has struck its first oil in Rivers State. A statement by the firm’s director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Olusegun Ilori, said that the feat came on the heels of the re- entry and integrity test of Otakikpo well-02, and the perforation and testing of the E1000A sand of the same well. According to the statement, the field which lies approximately 60 kilometres (km) South East of Port Harcourt , Rivers State, is based on the South of the SPDC’s oil mining lease (OML) 11, between the shore to the south and Chevron’s OML 51 to the North and about 35km East of Bonny Crude Export Terminal. “The E1000A,” the statement notes, “is one of the two target reservoirs in Otakikpo-02. Achieving this critical milestone barely 15 months after receiving its ministerial consent for the farm-out from Shell and its joint venture (JV) partners brought instant celebration to the stakeholders in the company and its technical partners, LEKOIL Oil & Gas Investment Ltd.” The field was discovered by Shell and its JV partners in 1980 while the appraisal well – Otakikpo-02 – which the company re-entered to produce the first oil was first drilled in 1981, followed by the Otakikpo-03. Under a farm-out from the SPDC JV, the federal government awarded the marginal field to Green Energy which it designated as the operator to implement the company’s innovative small scale gas utilisation programme. Otakikpo field was identified as one of the suitable sites for a pilot programme that offers unique solution to improving the economy of the oil producing communities while ensuring zero routine gas flares. http://leadership.ng/business/459849/nigerian- |
The Nigerian military on Wednesday said it has destroyed all known Boko Haram terrorists’ camps and cells in the North East. The Defence spokesperson, Rabe Abubakar, said this at his maiden news conference, adding that the camps were destroyed by troops operating in the region. Mr. Abubakar said the terrorists have been “so militarily defeated and weakened” that they can never hold any part of the territory in that part of the country. He said, “These terrorists have been subdued. Even if they are adopting other means and as they are re-strategising, we are also doing same.” The defence spokesperson said the military had been coordinating air and ground assault to make sure that terrorists’ hideouts are completely decimated. “As I am speaking to you, all the terrorists’ camps have completely been wiped out. So, right now they are completely in disarray, having no command and control of where to plan. We have even taken over the camps that most of them have even abandoned their bases and blended within towns and communities,” Mr. Abubakar said. He also said some of the terrorists had been apprehended. “We are making a lot of headways and a lot of achievements and people should know that Boko Haram is no longer strong enough to hold ground. Very soon this issue of whether they are in control of any territory in Nigeria or not will come to the open,” he said. Mr. Abubakar, a colonel, assured Nigerians that no territory in the country will be taken captive by the insurgents. He also said that significant progress has been made due to various strategies including morale boosting of troops by the chief of army staff, Tukur Burutai. Mr. Abubakar said, “the issue of desertion, complaints of non-equipment and lack of morale and motivation are now things of the past”. He noted that emphasis are now placed on credible training and retraining on the sanctity of human rights and protection of the combatants in the battle fields. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/189748-boko-haram-camps-wiped-out-nigerian-military.html

1) Buhari maintains ONLY one bank account with UNION BANK but took a fast loan from FIRST BANK....Describe that kind of banking practice (20 marks) 2) Thursday, October 16, 2014, the All Progressives Congress (APC) startled decent Nigerians when its national chairman, Mr. John Odigie-Oyegun, announced that the party put the cost of its expression of interest and nomination forms at the cost of N27.5 million in order “to separate the men from the boys.”....Explain who the Men and Boys in APC are and do you think that the man who borrowed to buy his form is among the men? (20 marks) 3) N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have "personal relationship" with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and early this morning, I put an early call (and) I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it....Describe the kind of PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP Buhari have with his account officer that made him bypass the CBN lending rules to issue a fast loan to Buhari without collateral. (30 marks) 4) Has Buhari REPAID the loan he took to purchase his form and if yes, why weren't Nigerians informed like he did when he took the loan? (10 marks) 5) Do you think the bank manager breached the bank lending regulations and needs to be questioned by EFCC? (10 marks) 6) Who is fooling Who? (10 marks) |
