Politics / Re: BREAKING: Atiku Will Win 2019 Presidential Elections - The Economist Magazine by saintandsinnerz: 2:57pm On Feb 02, 2019
olujastro:

You don't expect Saraki or Atiku to appear like they expect to lose. I believe their hidden routes back to power have been and are still being uncovered.

GEJ had incumbency factor.
Look at the numbers from INEC and you'll see why a Buhari victory is almost inevitable. The NW has over 20 million registered voters while the SE and SS combined have 22 million. These 3 zones will cancel out as both candidates will get at least 70% in their strongest holds.
Aboki doesn't make noise on social media. PMB is the only politician they trust that he isn't after enriching himself with public funds. No other northern politician enjoys such respect. You cannot buy Aboki's electoral conscience as it happens down south.
So those saying Atiku will divide the votes in the north simply because he's a Northerner are just reducing their much anticipated wailings. I can bet you that Atiku will lose his own Adamawa state.

The NE is there for PMB where he should get at least 60-70%.And around 50-55% victory in the SW and NC.

I expect a wider margin of victory for PMB than in 2015.
You maybe right in your analysis but the only flaw in your projection maybe your thinking that Buhari will have a landslide in the north. Though I believe he will win in the NW but I'm not so sure he will win in the NE. This is because the NE have not produced the Nigerian president in the history of Nigeria (not so sure),hence they may see this time as their best opportunity. Also, moreover, the dynamics that made Buhari to win convincingly in 2015 is not playing out this time. The north are wise politically, they know Atiku will give them the opportunity to be in power for a longer period than Buhari will do. Some of them I've interacted with are of this view. I repeat again, the zones that will be crucial in this election is the SE and SS because they normally vote in block and if Buhari fails to score a good number of votes there, forget it, he will lose the election.

People rooting for Atiku - the corrupt elites and Igbos who have no PVCs.

People rooting for Buhari - the ordinary people with PVCs.

The most populated states with the highest voting strengths are APC strongholds: Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Lagos, Oyo.
Those expecting Atiku to win are only trying to make themselves temporarily happy just like fake orgasms.

On Febuhari 16 evening, their wailings and sifia pains will commence.
Me I go 'just dey watch them like bat'.
4+4

Assuming that everybody there will vote for Buhari. You know that's impossible. Seriously, if you must be sincere, this election will be very difficult to predict because of alot of factors. The problem is that people think that the north will be a landslide for Buhari, but that may not be the case. Atiku will put a strong showing in the north as a result of him being a Northerner. Remember Atiku also has a lot of money and you know the influence of money in Nigerian politics. Voting buying will be too much in this election. The SW doesn't always vote in block like the SE. The vote of SW is always divided, though Buhari may win there slightly. Check the 2105 results you will see what I'm saying. Despite the anti GEJ sentiment in the SW prior to the 2015 election, he actually put in a strong showing. Where APC may have problem is in the SE and SS, especially the SE. If they vote massively for the PDP the way they did in 2015, forget it Atiku may likely win the election. Seriously there is something about Atiku and Saraki that is strange, these guys are sure they will win the election and the dynamics favour them. Don't rule them out.

That's good, they should immediately initiate impeachment move against the wicked tyrant we have as president. If the senate fails to impeach this man, then I will know they don't have balls. I can't believe in the life of me that Nigeria can have somebody as daft as Buhari as president. The worst part is the some idiiots are clamouring for his re-election. I always believe that those clamouring for the tyrant to continue are suffering from down syndrome.

Below is Mike Ozekhome ,SAN. Argument Supporting the suspension of Justice Ayo Salami President of the court of Appeal by Jonathan over allegations of corruption without any evidence or case against him in any court. Pls read.5

*”According to Section 11 of the Interpretation Act, Cap 123, Vol. 8, LFN, 2004, the President can suspend indefinitely but not remove without senate. And the President just exercised this”*

This was the law that Mike Ozekhome ,SAN deployed in his argument supporting Jonathan but today the clown is calling for breakdown of law & order.
Can you show me a source for this? But also know that GEJ suspended justice Salami only when NJC recommended him for suspension.

I don't know about the legality of the CJN's sack(I leave that to the lawyers) and tho all evidence point to d man being guilty, I feel the timing is wrong and will unnecessarily overheat the polity this close to an election.... Another thing all the CJN drama highlights is the fact that Buhari can still be that hard nosed tough man we voted for in 2015 who takes decisions without fear of backlash so far he feels such decision is best. Seriously, I ain't in d Buhari is a dictator murdering our democracy bandwagon cause seriously, the CJN ain't denying d charges but is rather fighting the legality of his ouster... And Buhari actually relied on a court order...... But still on still, this ain't needed this close to an election..... He could and should have waited till after February 16th and as for PDP, their wailing over this issue is just pathetic..... Buhari's 2nd term won't be funny
[/s]
Rubbish, zom B, I think what you should be talking about is if the president has the power to suspend the CJN. Go and read the constitution on how a judge can be removed or suspended. Disregard to the rule of law is the worst corruption ever and it can lead to the break down of law and order. I don't know why you blind Buharist are so dumb that even when you see the truth you will say it's another thing. Technically, the CJN has only been suspended not removed. He should go defend himself against the corruption allegations levelled against him, and if found not guilty he can get back his erstwhile position. Being CJN is not his father's property.
Do Buahri has the powers to suspend a judge? If he does, please can you show me where it's stated in the constitution?

Don't come here with your usual senseless 16 years of PDp bullshiit, it's getting boring. Say something new and more reasonable. ...incumbent factor helped GEJ very well... Infact if GeJ was ruthless he would have used his might to snatch the win from Buhari.. Voting pattern won't change like last election though... South south and southeast will overwhelmingly vote for Atiku just like last election but he don't really need there Vote to win.... If he retains the vote of the southwest and north( which will not exactly be the same like benue, plateau might eventually vote for Pdp) he will win... So the main issue is how the north central and the southwest will actually vote... We all know how the south east, south south and core north will vote
You're making a mistake with your analysis. Remember that Gej was roundly defeated in the north hence he lost the election. It will not be the same this time. Remember that Atiku is also from core north and a Fulani, so it will be a serious contest between two of them. Again the dynamics that gave Buhari the mammoth amount of votes in the north is no longer in play. A lot has changed since the last election. Remember the NE where Atiku came from has not produced the president and now they may see this as their chance to the presidency. I'm predicting Atiku victory in the NE, though Buhari will put up a showing. In the NW, buhari will carry the day but remember there are problems in APC already in some NW states, Atiku will still put up a good showing. In the SW, their votes are always divided as a result of some factors bordering on religion and non indigenes living there. So even Buhari is going to win, it won't be a landslide. Buhari has already lost the NC to Atiku as a result of some factors you may know about. The truth is that if Buhari performs as woefully as he did in 2o15 in the SE and SS, he should forget about the election. He will be defeated. Just think about this without sentient and you will see what I'm saying. The truth is that, this election will be too close to call.
