Bro, from experience they need only black suit for now. Don't carry load. U may wear ur traditional dress there , but not anytime soon.

someone had such experience over the years about Ssc facing Board.

Pls i want to satisfy my curiousity here about the board we faced for batch 1 ssc 46 at NDA old site Kaduna, we were 23 in number from my state nd those 23 faced the board respectively. My question here is tht when i got to the panel room where i saw highest ranking officers rounded the table i got confused nd i was told to sit down by the board president nd was also asked 3questions but i was able to answer only 1question among the 3. So wht is the possibility for me to get the job...

Just keep on praying bro, d selection is not based on the number of questions u answer. They consider a lot of things. So just chill, i know why I'm saying this. Best of luck.

(1)White shirts and shorts( navy blue), Buy as many as you can. But for the white shirts , buy those that will dry fast when washed. Because there will not be enough time.
(2) try and get clipper and shaving stick(not compulsory but u need them.
(3) white canvas at least 2 pairs. Use one for training n class n the other one on sundays( prep wingers will always check you for neatness).
(4) blazers for church and mosque on sunday.
(5) singlet.
(6) Academy will feed you, but you can bring GARI ( u will thank God later). Don't bring too much load that you can not carry!!
(7) u can bring pressing iron but hide it. It is not banned but for your own good.
( white handkerchief.
(9) Hide your wristwatch, you will not use it now. They will allow you later, may be after drill square test.
Don't bother yourself buying bucket, u can get it there.

Well, your first day in the academy, is the day u will never forget in ur life. Stressful n full of memories, we did not sleep that night. in fact it was hell. But believe me, u will survive it.
Try n get a source of inspiration that will keep u motivated throughout the training. Don't bring your self out at the early stage of your training by malingering, do what is expected of you by your instructors and prep wingers.
Do not look down on your prep wingers, especially those 2nd termers, if not you will suffer n might not make it to POP.
Try and grab anything your prep wingers teach you as fast as possible n never forget it.

Officers among us (saintdtm and others), can you please tell us what to expect the first day, week and may be month when we resume NDA? I want to prepare my self mentally for what will come. Because everyone is saying we will suffer.

Also, I am trying to get used to hunches, situps and press ups. I am targeting 50 every day. Is that enough?

Also, to Nairalanders that were asking questions on the platform before they resumed for camp... majority of them just kept quiet and decided not to update others about info from the camp. As Ugo4u used to say, it is true that some people will never associate with others on this platform again once they are commissioned into the Army. Just remember that some people guided you and answered your questions on this platform before you later made the final list, try to guide others from time to time.

People like Pijay & Tenderlaw on Navy DSSC thread are personalities that are worth emulating. Think and reflect. Anyway, thanks to the people providing the updates.

Congratulations. Start thinking of surviving training bro. This time around ssc46 will be more than ssc 45 as they used to tell us during our training in NDA. During our time 11 of us that passed medicals made the final list, hope it will happen in ur own case too. All the best to all of you.

All the best to you all. I can't forget my first night in the academy (HELL). But now it has become history.

Bro I guess last exercise some people got text messages inviting them to come for the screening. A close friend of mine got for last SSC and on getting there he showed them the text message and he was allowed to participate in the exercise. I just don't want to believe the race is over for you and Gen. Ugo! Don't give up just yet!

Congratulations all of you that made the list and those that didn't. I could remember last year i was a candidate like some of you here now. I learnt a lot from many guys that provided useful information here on NL when i applied for ssc 45 and finally I'm here as an officer of the NA. To those of you that are coming to join us very soon, NDA life especially for short service cadets is stressful from day 1 to POP but your morale will be high as you approach your POP. When the final list is released i may share my experience or give one or two advice on short service cadet life in NDA. To those that didn't make the list, take heart and have faith that God has better plans for you. CANDIDATES, before you appear for screening do the following:
1. Seek for God guidance
2. Ask your parents to pray for you
3. Know your area of specialization ( they are very good at asking questions where you do not expect).
4. Do jogging everyday
5. Know current affairs.
6. Pray, pray and pray!
