Same could be said about you, seems Tinubu is the air y'all breathe.

We don't care about Tinubu, we only criticize his policies, being the president of Nigeria.

Obi is not your president, leave him and the Igbo tribe out of the failure of Nigeria.
Business / Re: Naira Maintains Steady Falls As Speculators Scoop Dollars by Saintinoo(m): 8:03am On Apr 27
uncleck:
The pattern with which naira was gaining recently looked suspicious and appeared fake. There was no significant policy shift that necessitated the rise of naira so it was just a matter of time before it goes back to it's real value. That notwithstanding, don't rely on this momentary fall to make your speculations. I heard many people are paying their school fees abroad this period thus driving the demand for foreign currency ...

It doesn't, ask an economist. That is what you gain when a weak currency is being floated.

PressMyButton:
From 1100 back up to 1400, Obidients are jubilating once again, they are no longer saying CBN is defending the naira. Despite debunking their lies of CBN defending the naira when it was gaining.
Can we say Naira is falling when CBN is defending it?

All my life I thought the Hausa people are so unintelligent and myopic and allow bitter politics to cover their sense of reasoning. I never knew Yoruba were worst, now I respect the Hausa people.

Do you people sleep dreaming of Igbo, Obidients and Peter Obi?

Soon if your wife can't conceive, you will blame Igbo and Peter Obi.
Food / Re: Consumers Lament As Food Prices Rise 30% In Eight State's by Saintinoo(m): 7:01pm On Apr 26
onuman:
Prices never go down in Nigeria. Prices in other countries go up and come down according to fluctuations of currency exchange rate influenced by government policies.

Nigeria under APC has lost traction, out of government control.

Price doesn't go up and down according to fx or govt policy. Prices go up or down based on the inflow of demand and supply, although fx and government policy plays a role in prices of goods but not the major factor.

By July/ August food prices will crash very well.

Which food? That is your imagination. Food prices will crash Sept - December. July/August is the scarcity season, unless govt opens land borders for food to come in.

The demonic government of Nigeria you have been defending since the 70s will soon be exposed. Thank God you are getting this from government source, the Eastern Nigerian just like the North has so many ethnicity just like the North, but the Nigeria government with her divide and rule broke these ethnicities.

Those tribes you mentioned are all part of Aligbo, even other tribes from Rivers, Akwaibom and Calabar are all part of Aligbo.

Splashme:
The most foolish Nigerians are APC supporters.

See, even a primary School CBN governor can do what Cardoso is doing.

The man is simply dipping a hand in our foreign reserves, share it at subsidised rates for Banks & BDCs to sell to Nigerians at regulated rates.

Same thing Emefiele was doing
.

Same thing i was saying before they came for my head on the other thread. The exchange rate market is technically fixed again, but, most of them don't understand how exchange rate market works or have little knowledge of economics.

CBN sells dollar to BDCs and bank, mandate them to sell at a particular rate, that mean the exchange rate market has been fixed. Then, they will float it again when they want to steal.

I am just trying to focus on a better Nigeria until election time comes around. No point being negative when the elections won't be for another 3 years is there?
I just want things to get better

We are do sir, we criticise Tinubu policies not because we hate him, but because we believe they are not OK. No one will want Nigeria not to succeed and then suffer along, people are suffering, a man I know in the North just died, his wife was hospitalized, out of frustration and lack of money, he developed some sort of sickness and died.

Who is Tinubu policies benefitting, absolutely nobody but the rich businessmen and politicians.

But I feel he has to tackle head on the consumer protection agencies that regular consumer good prices.

They have to start working or he better scrap these agencies

What are the smart policies and how have they positively affected the economy. Pls don't tell me that using the foreign reserve to defend the naira is a smart policy.

I understand that he is your candidate, but one thing you guys do not understand is that politicians do not care about the people. I will criticise Peter Obi if he had been the one with these killing policies.

Tinubu policies are not about smart or bad, they are policies brought to enrich himself and his friends.

It seems the inflation is biting you hard son hence you bringing it up.tinubu will rule till 2031.
By the way, information on ethnicities is not about Tinubu or any particular president but Nigeria official records even before independence.infact, even international organizations corroborate it.you have no moral right to talk here son since you claimed atiku won the north and you don't even know how ethnographic infos are gotten, you blindly think it's from tinubu.you people from that side always overreach and over do.better shut up and allow people from the disputed areas to talk

Why will inflation hit me when I am into trade? The Inflation happens to be a blessing for us as traders.

Soon, they will tell you that you are from Togo, which I don't doubt, lolz. I hope you will take it as it is from the government.

People from the disputed areas are not the ones making the so called data, if they were, you would have gotten real, unrefined data on ethnicity.

Iran is waiting for coward Israel attack, only a weak military will need the help of 6 nations to defend her against Iranian attacks I still believe that if they leave Israel and Iran one on one Israel will be worse than Gaza within 2 months of serious war with Iran

Haven't you witnessed that scenario when you look for someone's trouble and you neighbour is even trying to defend him so things don't escalate.

The reason US and Jordan hijacked and destroyed those drones were because they know the gravity of attack Israel will hit Iran if those drones hard landed in Israel and US will be dragged into the war, of course on Israel's side.

Only the big boys are being defended, that should tell you how mighty Israel is, for even it's enemy, Saudi and Jordan to defend them.

And the attack of Israel and her assets by Iran proxies is what? Friendly call?

Israel will attack back which is certain, let the worst happen.

Ok I understand
But do but do not say dollar depreciation should not also affect prices.

What cause indomie super pack to sell at 18k from 8k?

Understand dollar depreciation is expected to affect the prices of imported goods, but not just immediately.

There are many factors that made indomie price shut up. That is a manufacturing problem, things like price of diesel, labour, logistics are key to increase in the price of indomie.

Greedy people

Go into the production of bread and reduce your price. Most of you not into business will not understand the amount of loss business people incurs in this economy. At around your environment, how many producers are still afloat, most have closed down.

A 50kg bag of sugar is 95k not to talk of flour, diesel and the price of labour. Blame the government and leave innocent bakers out of this.

You guys are funny, so an importer bought goods when the rate was #1600, and because the rate dropped to #1100 he should drop his price even before buying new stocks?

And who told you the exchange rate is the only determining factor for increase in price of imported goods in the economy. The country is gone, there were many negative policy done at same time, as if this was not enough, electrical tarrif was increased.

The Chambaa are not same with Bachama, they are clearly different tribe.

The people you call Fulani are not Fulani and did not accept to be called Fulani. Most people you call Fulani are Hausa and other small minor tribes, but because they are Muslims, you call them Fulani.

They should revert prices back to when dollar was ₦1k and diesel was still ₦1.4k since dollar is back to ₦1k and diesel is lesser than ₦1.4k.

Is that too hard?

I believe you work with one of em manufacturers, ask them to revert price back after probably stocking their warehouses with raw materials of the old dollar rate, or probably paying more logistics cost because of your god (Tinubu) policy.

The high cost of goods and services have come to stay unless Tinubu reverse his policies. Enjoy the high cost.

Why do you think CBN got the dollar they sold to BDCs? What do you think has happened to our foreign exchange reserve? What do you think CBN uses those dollars it collected in loans for?

As long as the cost of fuel is high, the appreciation of the naira will have minimal effect on things produced inside the country. The cost will only go down if government can reduce petrol to 300 or 400 naira.

Many Nigerians are ignorant of this. What is the relationship between dollar and food being produced in Nigeria. How does dollar affect the price of yam, beans and corn for God sake.

Even the price of imported goods will not reduce just immediately and will need a long term reduction in dollar rate.

I think is high time we wage war against greedy and evil distributors and marketers.

A product I use to buy for 2k before Naira depreciation went as high as 3k now the dollar has been steadily decreasing the same product is going for 4.7k

They are the ones suffering Nigerians

When you get into their business, you will understand better. Why do you think manufacturers have shut down? You think they can't just increase price?

Let me give you a good example with local rice. This women who sell local rice in Northern markets, go as buying a bag of paddy at 40k - 45k, use 5k to mill a bag at the end of the day they get not more than 50kg of rice, which at the end of the day a 50kg of rice is sold at 50k in the North. These women will make less than 3k after going through these stress.

The marketer who buy this rice at 50k will spend 7k just to transport to Lagos, and if he wants to use small buses, it will coat 10k, he sells at 63k to 65k, and gets 3k - 5k gross profit.

Marketers,, farmers are now spending, more because of Tinubu policies, and you don't expect them to bear the cost.
