The legal team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned an emergency meeting for Tuesday, TheCable understands. Coming on the heels of the rejection of the presidential election result by the main opposition party, the meeting is expected to discuss the next line of action. The notice of meeting was sent by Kabir Turaki, former minister of special duties who unsuccessfully sought the presidential ticket of the PDP for the 2019 election. The meeting, which will hold at the Legacy House, Abuja, is expected to start at 4pm. Turaki, a senior advocate, told invitees to “appear in person” as there will be “no representation please”. “The legal works are about to begin,” a senior PDP official told TheCable. The outcomes of all the previous elections, bar 2015, were challenged in court, although Olu Falae withdrew his case against President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 after the intervention of prominent Nigerians. President Buhari challenged all the previous elections he lost — in 2003, 2007 and 2011. In 2015, President Goodluck Jonathan took the unprecedented step of conceding while the final result was yet to be announced. Okada riders have been caused by several accidents whereby many have lost their legs, many have turned Igbobi hospital to home all thanks to these Okada riders, it was a breath of fresh when the former governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola banned all the activities of Okada on Lagos highway, though they have their advantage in as much as they make your journey faster but as the elders say, "Its only the living that book appointment". Having ban the activities of the Okada riders, the government decided to replace them with the Keke Napep but with a warning that they are not allowed to ride on 3rd Mainland bridge due to their lightweight. Keke Napep has brought lots of inspiration to many individuals as we have seen cases where couples now use it as their wedding car instead of the car, some use it for photo shoots and lots more. Ever since the kekes come into place Lagos has never been the same again at times you wonder the kind of spirit that lives inside the drivers, they find it so difficult to obey the traffic rules, they are always in hurry and drive as in they are under the influence of demons or alcohol, we have seen cases where deaf and dumb operate keke Napep in Lagos (imagine a case where a car or trailer lost control and it is hooting to alert the drivers to give you, na die be that o). It is on this note we decided to ask, Keke Napep or Okada which one scares you the most and which one serves you better. Let's hear from you. For all those living in Apapa, pls rep your hood, are there changes in the road and traffic? |
A senior engineer from AG Dangote Construction Company Ltd., has said Section One of the ongoing Apapa Wharf Road project undergoing reconstruction, has been completed. The engineer told newsmen in Lagos that the section was being cleaned to be opened to traffic tomorrow (Thursday). “Section One is completed and will be opened to traffic tomorrow. This job is a very careful project and a lot of work has gone into it. “We are working on Section 2 and we have started placing concrete. On Sections 3 and 4, we are doing earthworks,” the engineer who preferred anonymity said. The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola had on June 17, 2017, signed a N4.34 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AG Dangote Construction Company Ltd., and other stakeholders for the reconstruction of the four-kilometer Apapa-Wharf Road. The road was however closed to traffic to allow for construction on July 7, 2017, after deliberations with various stakeholders. The project is being funded by AG Dangote Construction Company Ltd., the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Flour Mills of Nigeria. The engineer, however, noted that the challenges on the project were “still the same, that of utility relocation on the Right of Way (RoW)”. Newsmen also report that work on the two kilometers of the project under construction had been divided into four sections. Newsmen who visited the site reports that Section One which is a distance of about 500 metres had been cleaned from rubbles and construction materials. Crash barriers had been painted with red and white colours to demarcate the entire lane on the Ijora/CMS bound carriageway. On Section Two of the project which is another distance of about 500 metres, workmen were seen using concrete laying machines to lay cement mix over iron rods on the same carriageway. Workmen were also seen excavating some portions on Section Three, a distance of about 350 metres. kio052001:Is this due to the crowd? It has many borders so I won't be surprised if there is an overflow of passengers. |
Personally, I think this is the best so far.. See more pictures here http://www.autoreportng.com/2018/02/tbs-brt-bus-terminus-is-this-best-bus.html |
March 2017, The Lagos State Government commissioned the nearly and upgraded TBS BRT Bus Terminus for public use. The terminus can best be described as world class as it has all the facilities to make your waiting a fun and relaxing one. The roofs were made of trampolines and also there was sound system to make sure there is dull moment, the best part of the terminus is that the place is always neat as the cleaners were always on standby to make sure that the place is tidy. The terminus share boundaries with Muson center, Victoria Island and also Awolowo Road. AutoReportNG embarked on a sightseeing adventure last weekend and what we see is quite impressive, there is still hope in this country after all. Based on the architectural structure, the design and how tidy the place is, we can boldly say that this is the best bus station in Nigeria if you have any contrary opinion, we are willing to learn from you.
