When I heard and read that my country Nigeria has just borrowed 5000metric tonnes of grains from ECOWAS today, I was shocked! Why? This same government has boasted that by the second quarter of the year 2020, we would have been exporting grains to neighbouring countries and beyond. May we ask the Honorable Minister of Agriculture what went wrong along the line that we must become a borrower country rather than an exporter they say we were going to be? Could it be that herdsmen's cattle had plunder on the grain farms and those in store already? Well, it is a pity we don't know if we are making progress or not base on the new of a Giant Africa borrowing grains in this contemporary times. |

WHO CURSED MY COUNTRY, NIGERIA? Sen. Ajayi Boroffice raised the alarm of possible entrance of CORONAVIRUS into Nigeria yesterday. And on how our airports are open gates for CORONAVIRUS to comes into Nigeria. But unfortunately, we woke up this morning to hear that CORONAVIRUS has arrived Nigeria. This is what he said yesterday. NO SCREENING FOR CORONAVIRUS AT OUR AIRPORTS, ITS FRIGHTENING – Sen. Boroffice raises alarm. Senate deputy leader, Professor Ajayi Boroffice, said there are no measures to check the spread of coronavirus into the country. Speaking on the floor of the senate on Thursday Boroffice said upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja from South Africa on Wednesday, passengers were only given a sheet of paper to indicate whether they were sick. The deputy leader said that was not the case in South Africa as they were screened before he disembarked from the aircraft when he arrived in the country on Friday. “I was in South Africa on Friday, I came back yesterday. Because of the issue of coronavirus, every country in the world is taking preventive measures because the wisdom is that prevention is better than cure. In South Africa, we were not allowed to leave the aircraft for good 30 minutes,” he said. My take: When are we going to do things as it should be done in this country? When do we begin to hold people in the power accountable for their lapses or ineptitudes? I thought Minister of Health requested for #630m naira to prevent this virus for entering into Nigeria through our airports across Nigeria? What now happened to the money granted for this exercise? I personally call on President Buhari to sack Minister of Health for dereliction of duty and that will serve as deterrent to other government officials. Rise up to defend Nigeria. May God heal our land. |
