Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti has has demonstrated his seriousness to the State Anti Grazing law by arresting a cow in Ikole Ekiti on Wednesday.

The governor according, Lere Olayinka, the governor’s Special Advisers on Public Communications & New Media on his Facebook page said ”Governor Ayodele Fayose demonstrated the seriousness of the State Anti Grazing Law by personally seeing to it that one of the cows was “arrested” by youths who chased the cows after the herdsmen ran into the bush upon seeing the governor’s security men. The remaining cows ran into the bush too.”

[b] The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has faulted the failure of the governments of 13 states to pay the backlog of fees owed as the reason it decided to hold on to the 2016 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results of its candidates.

The council also flayed at the unconcerned attitude of the 13 states’ governments to honour the agreement reached by both parties in the wake of the examination, saying that it signalled a ‘symptom of bigger problems.’

Speaking to The Punch on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the council, Mr. Demianus Ojijeogu, who refused to mention the names of the debtor states, stated that the affected states are owing WAEC a total of N2 billion.

Ojijeogu, however, bared that eight of the debtor states were from the north, while three and two states were from the South-South and South-West geo- political zones of the country, respectively.

The PRO also said that some of the states owed the council since 2014, adding that an agreement was reached early this year for the debtor states to pay 40 per cent of the total cost of the 2016 examination as a requirement for their pupils to sit for the examination.

He continued: “They reneged on the agreement we had during registration. We agreed that they should pay 40 per cent of the registration cost and pay the rest later. We used the payment to offset the backlog because some of them have owed us since 2014.

“We even told them to give us Advance Payment Guaranty from reputable banks, but one of the states brought a document from a branch of a commercial bank, not even from the headquarters of the bank. We were lenient last year and we released the results. But, if you leave it to some of them, they will not pay for five or 10 years.

We will not do that this year. That is our leverage and we cannot go bankrupt because of them.’’[/b]

Well, I’ve been working, though I’ve been away for some time. I was in the United States but I’m back now, I’m working on the premier of my new movie Not Enough. So, that’s what I’ve been up to recently.

How busy have you been since your return to Nigeria?


I’ve been very busy lately, trying to cover up for the time lost. So, I’ve been working a lot, you know I said I’ve been away for sometime but I decided to come back to do what I love doing, and since I returned its been work, work and work. I’ve been recording my second movie as a producer as well as doing other producers’ work. Right now. I’m working on the release of my second movie.

Why were you away?


It wasn’t planned, but at a time I decided to take a break to think if Nollywood is what I really wanted to do. At that time, I took some personal decisions, I took time to reflect on what I really wanted to do and I had to leave the scene for a while to concentrate on some other personal things, which I’ve done and I decided to come back again to do what I love to do.

Since you’re an actress, musician and business woman, were you confused that you had to take time to figure out which you really wanted to do?


Yes and no. Yes, in the sense that my hairline was taking a lot of my time since it was new, I needed time to work on it because I wanted it to stand; I didn’t want it to just fade away like that. I wanted it to still be there even after I’m gone, it’s something I want to still be relevant even after I’ve left the scene, so I needed time to do that. Then, the singing aspect was something I was just trying my hands on; I wanted to try my hands on something different. Some people might be asking when I’m going to release another album, but when I get the inspiration I will. Right now, I’m concentrating on my movies. Going off the movie scene was something I needed to do to be able to sort out some very personal things, to reflect on myself and what I really wanted to do.

Having made up your mind, did you think the best way to come back to the movie industry was as a movie producer?


Not really, before I thought of producing my own movie I’ve done quite a lot of movies for other producers, but I felt it was time for me to do something for an industry that has given so much to me. I didn’t think it was the best way to come back, I just felt I should come back in a different way, I had to do something people would remember. I’m trying to play something different from what I’ve done before now, I’m trying to do more challenging and endearing jobs, better jobs than what I’ve done before. I’m trying to work on myself; I’m trying to become a better person because to whom much is given, much is expected.

By virtue of your status in the industry, why did it take so long to produce your own movie?


Because I love to do something and do it well, I’m an actress first before a producer, I believe whatever one has to do, you should have passion for it. You shouldn’t just do it because everyone is doing it, you need to be totally prepared, mentally and otherwise, it has to be a total package before you go into anything. So, I needed for the time to be right for me because I don’t do things because everyone is doing it, I go into something because I want to and I must do it very well. Yeah, everyone produces movies but I wanted to do something different and be proud of what I do. I want to do something that in ten years’ time people will sit down and watch and be happy that something like this was produced.

Having tasted acting and producing, how would you compare both?


It’s crazy, if you look at what comes with being a producer I’m sure nobody would want to become a producer. I prefer being the actor, like you just come on set, get the diva treatment, you do your thing and you go home; that is what I’m used to, but as a producer you have to do the whole job. It’s crazy, it’s hard, it’s difficult but the good part of it is when the movie comes out and you begin to reap the fruits of your hard labour, the hardwork, the sleepless nights, the stress you put into this thing, that’s when you feel happy. From my experiences in Nollywood, the success of a movie lies in the hands of the producer. At the end of the day, it’s rewarding, but as an actor you don’t have to go through all that stress.

You produced your first movie Smile again in 2013, how would you compare it to your new movie not enough?


Well, first of all, I love to tell family stories and that’s what Smile Again was all about, likewise Not Again. I love to tell stories every family can sit down and watch. I love to tell stories my pastor and even the pope can sit and watch. I want to tell stories everybody can sit, watch and learn something. Smile Again was a family story, but I did that just commercially, it didn’t go to the cinemas, but with Not Enough, I tried to do better than what I did before, that shows growth. From the response I got from my first movie, which urged me on to do better than I’ve done before. People still talk about my first movie up till now; I want the same thing to happen with not Enough, even in 10-years to come. Aren’t we seeing any sex tease or sensual scenes in this movie? The story is not centered around sex, if there was need for us to include sex scenes it would have been subtle so that everybody can sit and watch it and so that we won’t have issues with the Censors Board. But trust me, you’ll find other things that will blow your mind in the movie.

It’s usually said that an actor/producer doesn’t really pay his colleagues when they are featured in his/her movie, how true is this?


That’s not true. It’s not about paddy-paddy arrangement, when you get a script, you have to look for who suits into your character, so if you cast based on friendship and this friend of yours doesn’t fit into the character then you are not going to get what you want. It’s not about how much somebody is paid or how much you’re going to get out of it at the end of the day. It’s about what we love to do, who suits a character, if it’s somebody you’re close to, fine, and if it’s somebody you’re not close to, fine. You don’t cast a person because you’re close to the person, you may not achieve what you want at the day. It also depends on your bargaining power, a producer could call you up with the prior knowledge of your fee, but just ask you if you can do it for a lower fee, it now depends on you and your management, if the script is good, you might want to do it for the script even if the pay is not okay. Sometimes the pay might be okay and the script is not okay, you wouldn’t do that because at the end of the day it’s your work that speaks for you. Yes, we all work for money, but I think it should be something you want to do in the first place, then as for the paddy paddy aspect, you can call on your friends in the industry but the person has to fit into the role.

Why do writers usually refer to you as ‘the controversial Ebube’?


I’m actually hearing this for the first time. I don’t think I’m controversial, you know there are people that others usually misunderstand, and I think I’m one of them. I call myself the misunderstood one. I’m in the limelight, what we do puts us in a position where people misunderstand us from what they see on screen. I can’t begin to explain to everyone that what they read about me is different from what they see on the screen. So, I’ve learnt to ignore most times, and when you ignore, people make out what they want in their heads and assume that this is the truth or this is not the truth. But sometimes I can’t ignore, I have to give it back to them; I’m human at the end of the day.

Why are you still single? Nothing,


I’ll get married at the right time.
Rumor making the rounds is that you are terrified of marriage, how true is this? Wow! Well, I don’t know where that story is coming out from because I’ve not granted an interview in years, about 3 or 4-years now. So, I don’t know where that rumour is coming from. I remember saying marriage is a big deal to me and if I have to do it then it has to be right. What marriages are going through right now in my industry is crazy. No one goes into marriage and thinks of getting out of it the next minute, but for some reason it doesn’t work out. It’s not me trying to blame anyone now, but it does happen. For me, if I have to do it, I’ve to do it right, marriage is a big deal for me if I’m going to do it, it’s going to be at the right time and not out of pressure because the same people who rush you into it would be the same people who would later make jest of you.

What are the worst things ever written about you?


A lot, I don’t even want to begin to think or talk about them. Talking about it would give them something to talk and write about. Most things written about me out there are not true, but I try to ignore and give my attention to what is more important. You can’t keep addressing everything that is written about you. In as much as people believe what they write, if it’s something I don’t want to talk about, I’ll rather not say.

The worst scandal I’ve heard is about you and Kcee, what’s your relationship like with him now?


When somebody writes something about you and it’s not true it’s painful, especially when it’s not true. If you actually did something and they are writing about it then you may feel remorse about it, but if you didn’t it, would be really heart-breaking. The thing is, I’ve developed a very thick skin, I don’t care anymore. Before, It used to affect me a lot, at a time, I said I was going to quit Nollywood. But now I think I’ve learnt how to tackle these things, based on what I do everybody doesn’t have to like you. The ones who like you like you and the ones who don’t like you there is nothing you can do about it. I’ve learnt to focus on the most important things and ignore the negative things that are written about me. I’ve learnt that the older I get the wiser I also get. I started acting in Nollywood as a young girl, so I’ve grown a lot; I’ve had so many experiences, so I see such stories as the downsides of my profession.

Are you dating anyone at the moment?


Yes, why won’t I have a man in my life? I’m a young girl, so of course, why not?
If I say I don’t have a man in my life people may ask if I’m possessed or something (laughs). Yes, I want to get married but at the right time, I’m not one of those people who do something out of pressure, no, I would not do that. What’s your ideal man? First of all, I like a man that respects me, lots of men out there don’t respect women, especially young people like us. Being in the limelight is enough stress on its own, so you have to be with someone that respects you as a person, so respect is very key for me. What’s your biggest regret as an actress and as a woman? I’ve learnt not to have regrets, maybe when I was younger, whatever I’ve been through up till today has added to my life, it has made me wiser, so I’ve said to myself no more regrets. If it did not turn out the way I wanted it to, I learnt from it and it pushes me to the next level, I learn from mistakes. So I’ve learnt not to have regrets. What was it like for you the first time you fell in love Like every girl out there, butterflies in my tummy, it’s an experience every young girl has to go through, it was good.[/b]

Manchester United supporters' highlights have frequently come at Liverpool in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. Mourinho has also orchestrated two of the most impressive wins by opposition sides at Anfield in recent memory. Chelsea's 4-1 annihilation of Benitez's Champions League winners in 2005 was the biggest margin by a visiting side since United trounced Bill Shankly's Reds in December 1969 and the 2-0 victory in which Gerrard 'slipped on his f*****g a**e', as schadenfreude enthusiasts put it, has become the benchmark for defensive performances. Chelsea were devoid of John Terry, Ramires, Eden Hazard and Oscar, as 20-year-old Tomas Kalas made his Premier League debut.
The siege mentality at United has intensified ahead of their nocturnal encounter with Liverpool in L4 a week on Monday. Mourinho's dismissal of critics as 'Einsteins' after the Northampton victory, the cranky responses during press conferences, Wayne Rooney's role and one win in the last four league games have seen him become weary with the attention.
Liverpool and United's fixture is the first evening encounter between the teams in the league since Rio Ferdinand returned from his eight-month ban in September 2004 and the febrile environment is likely to be sharpened by United supporters collecting their tickets from the Anfield ticket office. It is a ground where the United coach was once greeted with tear gas and Reds had excrement and urine thrown over them.
That demoralising draw against Stoke could have major ramifications for United and one of the few upsides from it is it could reinforce their focus against Liverpool, who are currently three points ahead of them.
United's best performance at Anfield since the late 90s was the first trip there under Louis van Gaal. Rodgers had overseen a successful switch to three at the back but succumbed to hubris, briefing journalists on how he had devised the scheme in the days leading up to the United fixture. United battered Liverpool in a 2-1 victory that was an unfair reflection on the victors.
Mourinho must show similar positivity but Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are more energetic and more dangerous. Philippe Coutinho is complemented by the speedy Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, with Jordan Henderson and Giorgino Wijnaldum proving to be an able support act. Adam Lallana, perhaps England's most intelligent forward, could miss the fixture.
Gary Neville said Liverpool would be the 'ultimate test' for Ander Herrera and he will require more assistance than just Paul Pogba. Mourinho cannot risk isolating the holding midfielder like he did with Marouane Fellaini against City, who punished United's looseness for 40 minutes and either Michael Carrick or Morgan Schneiderlin - both not considered to play for their countries - are needed.
Carrick and Herrera were instrumental in that 2-1 triumph 18 months ago and Mourinho should consult that blueprint - a rare occasion in which Van Gaal's tactical brilliance was evident - since several of the starters could figure again.
"I think Juan Mata is always one of my better players, always," Van Gaal said in the Anfield press room after that game. "So that's not a problem but a good position of the team is not always dependable.
"If you are playing good we have to play like a team and now he is playing as a false right winger in the combination with Herrera and Valencia. It gives him more opportunities."
Mata could combine productively with Antonio Valencia and Herrera, if urged to move forward. "He is very fast on the transition and can give us the security against counter attacks," Mourinho said of Herrera, and he will need that Battery Bunny Stamina against Liverpool.
Anthony Martial might be a more suitable selection than Marcus Rashford on the left flank. Martial, ebullient against Stoke, has two goals in four against Liverpool and possesses the kind of composure United will require in attack on what is destined to be a feverish occasion. Had Zlatan Ibrahimovic's first-minute chance on Sunday fallen to Martial, the ball would have curled into the far corner of the net and Mourinho needs that serene finishing. Rashford could be an invaluable impact substitute.
Mata and Martial could dovetail with Herrera and Paul Pogba, encouraging the full-backs to offer width - a simple tactic which has made United exciting to watch this season. Mourinho has two of the league's best left-backs to select from but Luke Shaw's pace might give him the edge over Daley Blind. The Monday night scheduling should offer Ecuadorian Valencia more than enough time to recover from playing in Bolivia on Tuesday.
Victory would provide October's highlight.

Clinton first attended two events in Greenville, North Carolina, stopping by a campaign office and then going to an event at East Carolina University to discuss college affordability.

After her two events in Greenville, Clinton was scheduled to attend a “clean energy roundtable” in Asheville, which is about a 5-hour drive away. But instead of driving or flying on a commercial plane, Clinton opted to a take a private jet. The NTK Network posted a tracking video that shows Clinton boarding the private jet on Wednesday.

The Clinton campaign pledged last year they would be carbon neutral on the trail and that they would be “offsetting the carbon footprint of the campaign and that includes travel.” The Clinton team has yet to fulfill this promise, however, as the campaign is using private jets to travel to events.

Hillary Clinton has a long history of using private jets rather than flying commercial. While Clinton was secretary of state, she once referred to commercial flights as “burdensome.”

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has told Salami Sports that he needs to produce more match-winning performances.

The former Chelsea man believes that for him to reach the level of ex-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, now at Spanish giants Barcelona, he needs to win games.

“More match-winning performances,” the 23-year-old told Sky Sports when asked what he is missing to make the level of Suarez.

“For a striker of my ability I score the goals that I score, but I need to create goals.

“The likes of [Sergio] Aguero, Suarez, [Karim] Benzema, [Robert] Lewandowski, they can create a goal out of nowhere and that's the thing that I need to do.”


Lukaku is a very good striker and has been in good form so far this season.

The Belgium international striker has scored four goals and created 10 chances in five Premier League matches for Everton so far this campaign.


The 23-year-old needs to be more consistent and also score more regularly in big matches.

[b]Cristiano Ronaldo will be grounded for the foreseeable future after the superstar's private jet crashed on landing at Barcelona's El Prat airport.

The Portuguese is about to get a bumper new contract from Real Madrid, and that payrise will come in handy as he prepares for a monster repair bill after the incident on Monday evening.

Eyewitnesses report that the plane's landing gear broke on impact with the runway, forcing emergency services into action.

One of the runways at El Prat was closed for a short time after the incident, in which nobody was hurt but the pilot was attended to for very minor injuries.

Ronaldo bought the Gulfstream G200 last year for some £15million, and sometimes leases his plane out for private clients.

Sources close to the Ballon d'Or favourite told Salami blog: "The plane is normally rented by companies and it was in use by one of them.
"Cristiano Ronaldo, his family or friends were not on the plane. The incident had no major consequences."

"The global move to deregulation has not worked and it has allowed the system to be more open to manipulation and abuse," said Mike Miller, chairman of the AFA.

"The time has come for the key stakeholders in this country to genuinely come together to establish a new framework for the future."
Sports minister Tracey Crouch also said the allegations were "very concerning".

She added: "We have been clear that we expect the highest standards of governance and transparency from sports governing bodies, here in the UK and on the international stage."

The LMA said that it "takes the allegations very seriously as they are obviously damaging to the game".

Two Championship bosses are also said to be open to bribes, but none of the managers have been named.

Pino Pagliara, an unlicensed Italian agent who was banned from football for five years for match-fixing in 2005, was filmed alongside two other agents, naming managers, including five they claimed to have personally paid off.

The newspaper has agreed to pass transcripts to the FA, English football's governing body, as well as handing information to the police.
It also reports that Cardiff City investigated a transfer deal done with West Ham United when Allardyce was in charge of the Hammers.

The Telegraph claims auditors discovered evidence of "unexplained payments" when Ravel Morrison joined the Welsh club on loan in 2014, with Pagliara alleged to have been the agent involved.

However, during their investigation, the club failed to put the allegation to Allardyce and neither the police nor the FA were involved. The failure to report it to the FA could be a breach of the governing body's rules.

The Telegraph says that an outside company was brought in to carry out a more thorough internal inquiry but they could not find any evidence of the payment being made to Allardyce, nor of any payment being made directly to Pagliara, so the club wound up the investigation.

A Cardiff spokesman said: "Mr Pagliara was not paid by the club. We investigated the matter thoroughly."

Pagliara denied paying bribes to any managers and specifically rejected the allegation of improper conduct during the Morrison deal.

[b] In a recent league game, SV Vonderort broke an undesirable record when it lost 43-0 to rival PSV Oberhausen.

According to German newspaper Express, SV Vonderort was down 35-0 at halftime – that must have been a fun team talk in the interval! – and at one point it was only able to field eight players. PSV Oberhausen was so embarrassed by its lead that it made the sporting gesture of removing three of its own players to even up the numbers.

After conceding a goal nearly every two minutes, goalkeeper Marco Kwiotek may have wanted to completely forget about the performance.
However, five days later at a training session, two police cars arrived at Vonderort’s training ground in Bottrop (around 30 miles west of Dortmund). The 25-year-old keeper was escorted from the training field by armed officers and brought to the local police station for questioning.
Kwiotek called out to players as he was led from pitch by cops at the club’s base in Bottrop, western Germany: “They just want to clear some things up.”

He has not been seen since and police have refused to comment on why he was taken into custody.

The circumstances of the police inquiry are unclear and Kwiotek has since failed to answer his phone.

Wednesday's match between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona will truly be the first title challengers' clash after Los Rojiblancos confirmed their ascendancy with a 5-0 win over Sporting Gijon.

Early draws with Alaves and Leganes had threatened Atleti's push for glory this season, but they remain within touching distance of the Blaugrana, who themselves won 5-1 on Saturday, thanks to goals from Fernando Torres, Kevin Gameiro, and Antoine Griezmann.
