This quest for secession is dragging this country backwards and dividing the nation the more. I do hope it is peacefully address. I really never believed I would see so much agitation for the break-up of this country in my lifetime.
bloodyBLOGGER: They expect FG to conduct a referendum on wht will cause its break up? IPOD is indeed silly.
Bet wait o!
I thought this people said UN is the one to give them a referendum. They have suddenly realise how that can never happen.
You people's obsession with IPOB is beginning to make you look very insecure. If you don't know the difference between MASSOB and IPOB please learn first before posting ridiculously
BY FRANCIS IGATA ENUGU – The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra,MASSOB, Thursday, asked the Federal Government to quickly conduct a referendum in the south-east geopolitical as a precursor to secession or face the total shutdown of socio-economic activities in the region and beyond. The pro-Biafra group vowed to unleash its potent force towards making Nigeria ungovernable if its stance was not heeded by the Federal Government. MASSOB Director of Information,Samuel Edeson in a statement to newsmen in Enugu Thursday ,said,”we shall use everything at our disposal to fight Nigeria Government especially through civil disobedience. We are going to call for sit at home in all Biafra land and Lagos. MASSOB will drag former president Olusegun Obasanjo to the International Crime Court,ICC, for all the atrocities he committed against Biafra since 1970. “The massacre of Odi people, the Tiv,Jukum and the massacre of MASSOB members in Aba,Okigwe and Onitsha including the killing of six Igbo traders in Apo,Abuja. MASSOB will be taking her campaign to United States of America,United Kingdom,France and China embassies in Abuja. MASSOB therefore calls on all people of old eastern region,Delta, parts of Kogi and parts of Benue States to support the referendum that would soon take place in Biafraland. Our freedom is non negotiable”

viktor01: I leant transfer is usually due every six years, so how come he had been elusive of it for more than three times? The management need to explain what happened and the Priest needs steer clear Nigerian dirty politics.
most probably because he also used the church spaced land for his adoration programme which is one of the highest known catholic adoration in Nigeria with multitude in constant attendance, so it isn't wise to keep transferring him. But now that he has been able to build his adoration ground independent of any parish, he can easily be transferred.
My prayer for him is that he should be permitted to live in his adoration ground when it is finally completed and secured. That would be really nice and he may not need to be transferred again after that.
homesteady: I did not say transfer of Priests isn't normal, I said transferring a Priest with more than 20 years experience to be an assistant priest is not normal.
Was he made an assistant priest or a residential priest? The title of this thread is misleading. It says 'assistant priest" while the main post says residential priest, they are two different things.
franciskaine: even an irrational mind knows he's being victimised. They considered the political conga without considering the religious and heavenly implications on his church members.
What do you mean? So he shouldn't be transferred, or is it the one room that is the problem?
Have you seen any residential priest anywhere who is living in a duplex or even more than one room?
And this topic is misleading, he was not made an assistant priest but a residential priest, they are two different things altogether.
As a residential priest, he is not to be "tossed around" by the parish priest as would've been the case if he was made an assistant priest.
He will even have more time for his ministry work as he has no much to do in the parish safe he wishes to help the parish priest.
His priestly faculty wasn't taken from him so he can still do everything as a priest, he can now move around the country or even outside at will for programmes because no parish work will tie him down.
This is something the bishop should have done long ago. For me Mbaka is better off this way. Even when he was in CKC he doesn't even take the offering money as he was supposed to, he always dash it to the church so he never depended on parish money for a living, gifts and his earnings from his cassettes and investments is what he uses. And these things are still his till date, no one stopped him from getting those money.
So this victimisation mantra doesn't add up. It's true it will take some time for him to settle down here, but every priest at one time or he other had to go on transfer. Even him, this is not his first transfer, he wasn't immediately posted to CKC upon ordination. He came there on transfer. He has been there for 20 years because his adoration ground used to be there, but now that his adoration ground has been moved, he can go on transfer so long as its not far from his adoration ground.
Mbaka is a strong man and can handle it. I don't know why people are out here making a big deal out of this. Even bishops can be transferred.
TippyTop: Did you seriously expect the US to allow sharia law through the back door? If y'all love Islamic laws so much why queue up at American embassies? Same Muslims who would beat up foreigners for dressing inappropriately in their countries would be the first to scream victimisation when they go abroad.
I wonder o. What is even good about the said sharian law that they want to enforce on everyone. What's so good about amputating people hands and feet anyhow. Smh
analice107: Both sir. If apostasy law is taken away, and the Christian evangelists are allowed to freely evangelize, believe me, even the Sultan of Brunieah will convert to Christianity.
The bold got me laughing
But seriously Brunei govt didn't try at all infringing on the right of 32% of their Christian population is plain bad.
And the world was silent, assuming any christian country tries that, the muslim world will cry foul.
The way muslim countries try to suppress their christian minorities is surprising, yet they can't take thesame.
winner01: I suspect that asia and probably middle east is the next big thing. Those people are converting in thousands. Even though their governments r against christianity.
Annunaki: It's true thousands of muslims are renouncing islam every day to become atheists and christians, a little google search will give you all the evidence you need. Even saudi Arabia that is supposedly 97% muslim now has an estimated 10% covert christian population.
Now do you think we should attribute this to the ability of Christian evangelist to spread the gospel or the hostility in muslim nation that makes it adherents feel the need for a change of faith?.
Infact one of the blunders of the writer of the gospel of Barnabas is not knowing the greek word "Christ" is same as the hebrew word "Messiah".
While Jesus was referred to as the Christ at the beginning of the book, Jesus denies being the Messiah in Chapter 42 and 97 of same book. How can he be the Christ and not be the Messiah while both words mean thesame?
